I am using the bow, though, because the light grid is cancer to build up. In the future, when I've grinded out 30 Chev Swords, sure, the bow won't be in my grid, but in the interim the bow being light element is currently the biggest piece of my grid.

In the long run I could have changed the bow to Water because I have Varuna so a Normal Water Grid is completely plausible, but right now it is the single best weapon in my grid and I would lose a lot of damage. I could just not have begun upgrading it, but I'm only about 20 days away from the character if I do some hardcore whorl grinding.

Put a lot more time into it today and got to the point where I'm leeching omegas/magnas for my chosen element, think I have a much better understanding of how progression works now. I like it a lot, but I can tell I'll be playing much less when raids go back to costing 4ep rather than 2. About how often do they go half off/any idea when they might next?

Yeah, looking at just how many characters there are and how unlikely you are to actually draw the one you want I can see how it'd be a worthy investment for somebody who plays a lot as long as you were sure you'd stick with the one you picked. I've read it keeps coming back until you buy it anyway, so I figure I might shell out for it if I'm still playing by the time it does. Only money they'd ever get out of me if I do though, investing more than 10 or 15 bucks into a mobile game just doesn't sit right with me.

The official Magnafests, as in the ones they had planned, were during the Summer event (in August) and then this one in October for Halloween. The next should be Christmas - I don't know about what events they do in the first half of the year, but they'll likely continue the trend of every other month. Also, Omegas are normally 5 EP, so it's even worse.

However, September they fucked up pretty bad on something and removed an event in an emergency and instead gave us two days of Magnafest, so sometimes it comes back otherwise.

Oh boy, well thanks for the warning. That's the kind of nonsense progress gating mechanic I expected going into a mobile game. Guess I'll stick to mostly farming the normal raids for those medals and stockpiling berries for Christmas when this one ends then.

That's basically the correct thing to do. There are events pretty much non-stop though, and they usually have really good drops, either for new players as stat-sticks for their grids or sometimes even as core late-game grid weapons, so don't be too discouraged about "not having enough to do". In fact, if you stay on top of all the ways you can purchase half-elixirs, it should be a long time before you can easily run out - I spent the entirety of yesterday sinking pots into GW and Thursday Trial, and spent 4000 AP, and barely made a dent on my pool of elixirs that is relatively low.

Make sure to do your casino stuff at least enough so you can purchase pots/berries from there - the monthly reset is in a few days, so the more you can buy this month the better, and then you'll have about 10 days of leeway for buying everything next month.

You can buy that many per month, and it resets on the 1st (nip time, so probably the day before for you)
But you can only buy 10 berries and 5 pots per day, meaning it takes 20 days of purchasing to purchase the monthly limit. It's one of the things you should do daily at the very least, and having a stockpile of chips helps for that

Pretty long time. If you take Grand Orders for your Support Summons and have a party with three different elements, you'll be doing a lot of damage early on, but then probably around Rank 40 or so you'll hit a slump - I didn't feel like I came out of that slump until the 70s or so, and even then I really can't do that much of what I need to do.

Extended Mastery is basically just Bonus Stats - you don't want to spend any points on Tier 1 and Tier 2 classes, but Tier 3 you can purchase a bonus +3000 ATK, for example, or Zenith skills like Bishop's Veil (like Katalina's Veil). You'll find way later on you'll have more than enough EMP, once ranks start slowing way down and you have no other classes to level.

You should do your main quests now, because on Monday the 1/2 AP special is going to end, which applies to story quests but not your side quests. Try and get as far as you can, so you can unlock as much content as possible (primarily, your Primals).

Try to focus on only one or two elements as well. With focus you'll be topping DPS charts in no time except for when you meet weakness element (then you'll be crying bitch tears unless you're light/dark). Otherwise, you'll just end up as a jack of all trades.

You'll want to do some research on which element is good for you in terms of what you already have and what you plan to get.

You should had rushed for Dark Fencer instead but you'll eventually want to get them all anyway, just be wiser about your CP from now on because that shit wont last forever.

Understand that that the game doesn't work with odds that make sense. You will get fucked over and over and over, and then you'll make a bunch of money, and then you'll get fucked over and over and over and repeat.

Heard it from a friend, so take it with a grain of salt, but the way I understood what he was saying is that the double up game rolls for win or lose, instead of rolling each individual card, which is why shit like

happens way more often than you would ever see in real life, in other words it rolls you one card, and then doesn't roll the other card until you make your decision on higher or lower. Not entirely sure how it's related to the gacha, but w/e.

How is this hard to understand
The odds in the poker part of the game don't seem too off reality. It just seems like the game is counting each hand as a new deck.

That is entirely without basis and kind of nonsensical.

Keep in mind the human brain also tends to see streaks more powerfully through confirmation bias, and the negative is far more memorable. My personal experience in Double Up is that it works exactly as expected - on the other hand, I did some 60 draws last LegFest and got 0 SSRs, which is phenomenally bad luck and will always stand out to me regardless of if, in the grand scheme, my draws are close to expected % chances.

The game IS counting each new hand as a new deck. Cards get shuffled back into the deck with each new bet - you see this in Double Up, as well. For example, in Single Card Double Up, there exists a Joker card which is an instant lose, and you will eventually draw that card no matter how great your luck is, because it will inevitably be the only card that can appear next.

Also the odds don't make sense for a 5-card draw because you're the only fucking player playing. Flushes are classically rated higher than Straights because with the involvement of other players Straights are supposed to be more common, but when you're the only player Flushes are actually more common than Straights.

I wouldn't say without basis, but certainly is without evidence, I guess the only assumption to make in light of any evidence is that the game works as intended.

I'm pretty sure most probability experiments are done with only one player, so I don't think that's an accurate statement to make, but I admit that my attention span for poker exists only in 10 minute intervals, and thus my knowledge this subject is near non-existent.

on the matter of poker…. the game willl fuck you up a lot but it's applied statistic in the long run you will always win more than lose the chance of just losing at poker is so pitiful it's not even fun

You should generally only pick either axes or claws depending on your party setup. The meta is axe, unless you have S. Zooey then go claw, and keep one spear for using as bishop.

the point of h eustace is trying to get to 9 charges then ougi and reach 2 M damage. he is great in oigen teams (or simply to steal mvp)

The problem with fire is that it's only ATK up magna is A FUCKING STICK so it has less attack than other weapon types, that's where it gets screwed as an element, it's kiiiiinda better now that Athena spears are a thing, and Suzaku harp is a thing,but still, fire has the least ATK stat from all elements, despite having great characters
