Guys, this isn't big pharma at all. I've actually done a couple paid studies with Apotex, about 5 years ago. These are the guys who make knockoff drugs by tweaking the recipe so they can sell it cheaply so more people can afford it. They are permitted to do this a certain amount of time after the super-expensive drugs come on the market. The ones who stand to benefit from harm to companies like Apotex are the original drug developers who can consider to sell their high-priced drugs without Apotex knockoffs competing with them.

So what's the motive here? Big pharma needs more money?

Use your fucking brain. They'd go after his wife as a threat to him. What's the point of killing his wife if you're going to kill him at the same time? However, I did learn about a (((coincidence))) somewhat recently which piqued my interest that probably plays into all these holistic medicine, probably anti-big pharma docs getting bumped off. I live in Pittsburgh and there was this guy who was pretty well-known around here named Dr. James Winer (pic-related) who was a holistic doctor and had several weekly radio shows where he promoted the hell out of his business and talked to potential patients that called in. I never listened to any of them but according to my grandfather who listens to a lot of local AM radio (mainly NewsRadio 1020 KDKA, which I'm assuming is the station his show was on), people with health issues would call in describing their symptoms and Winer would ask them basic stuff like if they drink a lot of caffeine, alcohol, if they smoke, etc., tell them to cut it out of their diet, recommend them a shitload of natural meds (mainly pills, I assume), give them his business number and tell them to come see him.
