I want to build my own language tutoring business so I can make money and move around whenever I feel like it, but I don't really know how to get students and how to stay motivated. Do you have any wisdom to share ? (I'm European btw, laws are different)
I won't be able to help with European laws.
Let's start with staying motivated. I used to constantly waste time trying to figure this one out and it didn't work. I saw a video interview of Elon Musk a while back where someone asked him how he kept himself motivated and I liked his response, which was basically to be confused at the question. His answer was basically, "I don't think about motivating myself, when there's stuff that needs to be done you just do it." Focusing on what needs to be done and why is much more important than wasting time trying to hack your personal drive.
With that said, I'm convinced by arguments linking your sense of motivation and drive to dopamine. As I understand it in rough layman's terms (take this with a grain of salt) when you do something that triggers a dopamine release, you're conditioning yourself to enjoy that thing as well as repeat it. The things with the most significant dopamine response that are repeated the most frequently become what you are driven to do. You are rewarded with dopamine when you complete a small task, achieve a large goal, etc… as well as when you snort coke, watch porn, orgasm, win at video games, get a smile on the street from a pretty girl, receive praise… the list goes on. Managing (which often means eliminating) the things that are unproductive while increasing the frequency of things that are productive will result in your natural behavior to be driven towards the things you want to do. Don't need to consider it hard science, just know it works well for me.
Tools like chains.cc for iphone/desktop and loop for android are useful here for both negative and positive habits.
Now for getting students. At it's core the idea is simple. You say "I do this for money" and someone replies "I'll pay you to do that." This can happen pretty much any way you can imagine, there are really no hard and fast rules. I would start by imagining yourself as a person who wants language tutoring, and start looking for someone to tutor you. Pay attention to the way you go about this, and the details that make you think one tutor is better than the others. Do they have a website? Do they use a particular social media platform? Do they use paid advertisements and if so on what platform?
It might even be worth it to pay for a session with an experienced tutor to see how they go about it, they will probably even be willing to give you some tips afterwards.
Another thing to consider is what can you offer for free that will attract the kind of people who might want a language tutor. For example a blog with daily posts on learning the basics of your target language, with reminders on the site that you offer personal tutoring services. Get creative and offer something of real value that nobody else is offering and this can work extremely well.
Also if freedom to move around is part of what you want then you should keep this in mind as you plan your business. If your plans don't support your end goal then keep thinking about how you can change your plans until they do. Achieving that goal is going to be huge for you - always be working towards it!

Well it all started a few days ago, he was on Youtube comments leaving huge blocks of text screaming about socialism and "his struggles", and bitching about the Alt-Right. Out of curiosity I went to his Youtube page to see what I could find out about him, and it was nothing aside from liking Nicki Minaj, Mike Posner, and Abba videos. No bio, no picture, no nothing.
So I googled the name used, and it showed a few other Youtube comments arguing about climate change, and posts on other forums using the same username basically berating people about Marxism and being really condescending and sarcastic. One thing that did come up was an old Geocities page from like the early 2000s. Same username, but it also was talking about dinosaurs, gay rights, and it linked to his LiveJournal. It also listed a few E-Mail addresses. There was a few short stories, and an odd picture which I posted. His LiveJournal was all about gay/feminist rights and it showed he was interested in gay Harry Potter/Ron fanfiction.
Looking around a little more, I used the Email address he still provided and found a bunch of papers submitted online. Apparently he's a doctor now. Found his Facebook and it shows that he's some sort of organizer. He makes up billboards and passes out flyers and shit for rallies in Melbourne, to fight the Alt-Right.
Looking through his photos I was able to see his house, and the place costs like $900,000 (but it looks like a dump). His cat is an Abyssinian, which is like $1000 for a kitten. His dad appears to collect Harley Davidson bikes, and both parents are professors. The guy has his doctorate and his pictures show friends and family taking cruises, traveling to Dubai and such, yet he's running his mouth about communism and going to these types of rallies.

So Hitler applied a solution that matched with human nature: hard, fast rules of ancestry checking did most of the work, since race does most of the work; and for the rest, he allowed the laws of his nation to curb and incentivize behavior. It was illegal to act against the interests of the people: you weren't allowed to steal, you weren't allowed to establish a private central bank, and you'd die for treason.
