These are a dying breed.

Huh, as much as I hate nep shit, at least it seems they are doing what they love.

Sure.

I don't understand why there still isn't a game where the protagonist is a ~20 year old healthy, hot-blooded male muslim refugee who beats up and rapes disgusting white cis women. Why no one cares to create the ultimate feminist experience? Don't they know it is the current year?

...

Someone post "they complained it was too hard so we made it harder"

...

This is a "devs who like making games and do it because it is their passion" thread. The SJW hate thread is two blocks down. To go back to the topic yoko taro seems like he lives his work. I can't attest to the quality of his games until automata comes out though.

any word about the translation localization?

Eh, it's not so much SJW hate for me as a concept like that might eventually become a basis for an actual game. We just need to wait until they think they've won.
And I wouldn't mind playing such a game. I have a certain fondness of disgusting and perverse in video games and a game like that would be right at the top of the list, race, politics or anything else notwithstanding.

Don't know. Rumors are it's 8-4 but I can only hope it's not. Mind you I have no sources so take it with a mountainous pile of salt.

Nep REALLY pisses off SJWs so I wager it's at least worth a shot

8-4 unfortunately. Tho iirc Yoko Taro said it would be JP audio only so atleast you can judge the quality of the translation for your self.

Really? Out of all the weeb games to shit on why?

it got released on steam?

I guess that's as valid a reason as anything they would come up with, so I'll buy it.

Is this what you're looking for?
"It was done intentionally of course. The testers who tested this game went nuts. At first it was easier, but when the testers said "this is too difficult", I made it even more difficult."

Is Paradise Lost more like Postal 2 or Weekend in Paradise? I loved the former but didn't really care for the latter that much.

paradise lost is like postal 2, town got trashed and its post apocalyptic

I'd say more similar to Postal 2. If you liked the original game you'll like Paradise Lost. Also friendly reminder the Postal film is surprisingly good.

I promised myself I'd never buy an inXile game again after what they did to RPGCodex.

What did they do?

forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?t=15970

I'm surprised a mod on inXile's side was the one that made that post

Watch out for the localization. I'm sure the anons in the new thread could tell you what is good to buy.

Well not everyone on the 'wrong' side is a cunt user. Outside of the suits at the top most people are just humans doing their best.

That's not what I meant by buying it, as I said earlier I despise nep shit. Buying it is slang for believe it. I would never purchase neptunia.

worth a mention

Well, shit. There go my last hopes of new Torment being anything but a waste of HDD space.

Raptorkin?

kek, is that real? too bad the devs are also kikes

it's a good thing for developers that this place matters less than 4chan then ,otherwise they may had to reconsider and shit

...

how would you make a tranny character in a game? Just have an adam's apple slider?

mmm i had the perception that ARK was sjw compliant

I've never had any delusions of our posts influencing devs in any way. Well, except CroTeam perhaps.

he just wants to be acknowledged and given attention

Come on, Ittle Dew, Card City Nights and Psycard were all great. I'm eagerly awaiting Ittle Dew 2 because Ittle Dew was the best puzzle game I've played in a long while.

easy, just have a game about feminism and you can tell the story of how the need for validation turns a character into weaponized snowflakes doing the bidding without realizing they are hated more by those they seek validation from than those who just don't want to hear about anyone else's plight.

I'll admit it might have been a bit of an overstatement. Ittle Dew just didn't feel pleasant to play from a gameplay perspective for me. Ittle Dew 2 looks like it's improved upon a lot of that stuff though, so I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

Too bad Hatred was average at best. The devs seem like cool people. Maybe they can learn from this and make another game that plays better.

What a guy

Joymasher are pretty based.
Neither has sold super well (as far as I know) but I enjoyed them both quite a lot. Fun little games to play through, and the music and cutscene art are very well done. The latter game does have some costume DLC, though. One based on Ghosts n' Goblins, one based on Demon's Crest, and one based on Simon Belmont's classic design. This is the only track I could find on Youtube, though.

At least it's not selling well.

That game is fucking great.

Bought and played both of 'em, loved it.
Although Oniken reminded me more of Contra.

Also, if you want to play a Contra knock-off – look at Super Cyborg on Steam. Although it's even more obscure than Joymasher, which is a shame.

...

this

Good guy, good game.

Everything's on Steam now, it's a non-argument.
And all DLC is purely cosmetic, which is how it should be used in the first place.

...

Remember when cosmetics were things you could unlock by playing the game?

Plenty of games, especially indie games, are available in other places. being a good example ONCE SHENZHEN I/O GETS OUT OF FAGGOTY EARLY ACCESS.
Things that would previously be unlockables "should" have a price tag? How about you kill yourself?

RIP Infiniminer

I agree that it would be better as an unlockable.
However, if it's something I don't give a fuck about and never gonna use cause it doesn't change the gameplay – I don't mind too much.
Moreover, the game has a good number of actual unlockables that DO change the gameplay, so I'm satisfied in that regard.

It's an actual rare case of EA faggotry being used as intended tho. The game is basically finished and very polished. It will just get some bonus levels as I understand it.

it wasn't meant to be user.

That's nice. I mind.
My favored example is always this:
Imagine Timesplitters with an attitude like yours. That alone should be reason enough to understand why you're wrong. Content is content, even the cosmetic, fun things. You know, fun? Adding fun things to a game increases fun.

...

...

...

I am not arguing with you, I never said I disagree.
I am only saying I am willing to look past some things if it doesn't really detract from anything for me and if I see that devs didn't just translate everything into DLC and still made a geniune effort.
Besides, they are a small and obscure studio, so they would benefit from a bit of extra.
If I were to made a game myself, I wouldn't include any DLC including costumes, but still.

This glorious motherfucker made Iji. He could make nothing but turds till the end of time from now on and still enter game dev Valhalla, for all I care.

Might as well contribute. NIGORO
Motherfuckers made La-Mulana. A game that stands there in the Holy Trinity of Metroid styled games with SotN and Super Metroid.
They also made Rose and Camelia, a game about literal bitch-slapping.
Now if they only could finish La-Mulana 2 soon.

how is his game going?

They keep releasing builds, tried one, dunno how old it is, but it was terribly optimised

oh hey, an Iji fan.

Iji still holds my #1 spot for "best freeware game of all time". I wish Tor wasn't a laggy piece of shit on modern systems, but GameMaker is a bitch I suppose.

**docs.google.com/document/d/1iySqqlLDtT3UEFxLEhU88EGph02DVum6AqNNeNyYb4I/edit?usp=sharing

I made this. I hope it's worth reading, but if it isn't please tell me why you think so.**

whelp. Fucked up spoiler tags. Time to go kill myself.

What game is he making?

Every time

some medieval game where you kill white people

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, or "dungeons & no dragons" because it's a realistic, historically accurate medieval RPG.

A waste of good dubs..

That's pretty swell

pretty cool

Delicious

if it wasn't for his cancerous shirt this guy would be damn fine

Now if he'd only finish that version of Iji made for more modern operating systems. I hate the slowdown that happens in the current version if you aren't on XP.

SEGA consoles were a huge success in Brazil, mainly because they were already good but in brazil they had almost no competition and they were manufactured locally (much lower pricing) while the company in charge of that localized american games (or american versions of games) and made their own. Basically SEGA did everything when nobody cared about Brazil

Nintendo is US and Nip only
Seriously, I barely see Nintendo outside those.

because of him, Hopoo got the inspiration to make Risk of Rain, one of my favorite games
They even included the bosses head as a easter egg in the final level
small world, it's all connected

In that it diverges from the original concept of the game (pic related), yeah, it's more like Weekend in Paradise.

Fuck, I have to post the theme with all this Iji talk. It's too good not to. It's still one of my favorite final bosses ever.

Sounds like a rock/touhou mix
I like it

best credits theme too, especially considering the ending.

The entire soundtrack is great.

Marginally unrelated but exanima is pretty rad.

One more. This song introduced me to Machinae Supremacy.

Iji is just amazing in general.

We need both more devs like Jon and more games based on trash cinema.

I never thought of Hotline Miami as a "game based on trash cinema", but it kind of is. Half way between "badass action hero kills several rooms full of dudes by himself" and "masked mass murderer leaves a trail of blood and corpses".

The only other game I can think of that fits the description is One Finger Death Punch, which is old-school kung fu B-move to the core. I don't know how based the Silver Dollar guys are or are not though. They do thank you for playing their game a lot but that's not proof in and of itself.

Actually now that I think about it, OFDP is also pretty heavily steeped in old school flash animation too. Remember Stickpage.com? OFDP is basically that upgraded to a real game, albeit a pretty simple one.

Its pretty much a Xiao Xiao game

Jesus fuck.

So whens that controller support coming? Can't say I'm a fan of 3rd party tools to play.

...

I think I look back on this chapter of my life being the start of my downhill NEEThood.

WE DOIN THIS NOW NIGGA.

You sir are a swine and a mongrel.

Fuck, miss being 12

I got stuck but
This game is fucking fun and actually pretty fluid to play despite how it looks
why is this shit more fun than actual polished bigger titles fuck

I remember there was a Max Payne (1 or 2) mod which made everything into Xiao Xiao.

Too bad mobile gaming and steam greenlight killed the flash community

I still go to newgrounds in search for porn.

r8

Honestly even at its peak the porn on newgrounds was pretty shit. Highest quality was whatever Zone threw out.
And Sex kitten Sim date of course

I masturbated to this guys flashes
Hes still going the absolute madman
d-z.newgrounds.com

Flash Community is still decently big user, you just grew up.

Regardless of whether you're a fan or not, are you gonna just do it '3'

fucking normalfags

Video games can never be art- David Bowie, 2017

anybody listening to david bowie nonstop ever since he died? fuck the user who killed him

Sorry about that m8 I had to mane only one choice, no choice at all

why are you bullying me? Im just telling the truth.

nice thumbnail faggot

SEGA is so based the last couple of years, it's scary.

This killed me.

Kamiya seems like he fucking hates his fanbase or the gamerbase in general, but I enjoyed every game he made or was heavily involved with, it feels like he puts so much passion in each of them and doesn't really give a shit about sells (but he does certainly give a shit about the ports of his games, like his rant on Bayonetta on PS3 or Okami on Wii).
Him also defending Capcom at its (then) lowest was kinda cute, because it was the place where he originated as a developer.

The last one always fucking slays me, great shit

...

learn to relax sometimes, wtf.

You're getting triggered over a comedy t-shirt ? …

this is real social justice, doing what's right at the right moment and no fuss about it.

Shit concept but WHO CARES ABOUT NEW PLAYERS AM I RIGHT?, but good idea regardless.

Why would new players want to be in blocks dedicated to end-game conent? There are blocks for all ranges of leves.

I hate to say it, but DivaX was fucking terrible.
I don't know what happened with the game- but I hope SEGA knows that it was shit.

When did they do this?

Everybody is a normalfag at one point.

Sometime after the beginning of Ep4 I think.
It was a long time ago now. There are 3 layers of clothing now withg addition of 2 body paint layers.
So yeah, SPO2 is king of non-porn dress up game that just happens to have great combat system.

...

...

He doesn't hate his fanbase, if you actually paid attention to his twitter instead of just looking at the screencaps that people post of him blocking people, you'd know he always retweets fan art for his games and people talking about how they liked his games. The only hates the bumbling retards that websites like this and reddit produce, attention seeking faggots that need to share to the world how much they pissed someone off.

isnt that the game that gaijins cant play?

how much are you being paid to post this retared shit?

Yes, thankfully jap captcha keeps lowest of scum at bay.

No it doesn't. I remember the threads back at halfchan long ago, people gave out the fucking captcha answers for retards too dumb to do it themselves.
I remember because I was the guy who would reply to them ASAP with the correct characters but throw in a bad dakuten somewhere to fuck them up.

copy that

well we are in h8chan after all, what did you expected?

Regular XH blocks still exist, and are still pretty populated. It's just that the new """"""""""expert"""""""""" blocks just require you to do one bit of content that can't exactly be done on autopilot.

Besides, it's not like there aren't any leechers in the expert blocks anyway; they just have slightly better gear.

I could bug Dan about it. Hero Core and HPP have it, I see no reason why Iji couldn't.

Also, I tried porting Iji to a newer version of Game Maker (specifically, 5.3a to 8) in the past. It's a hell of a lot of work, so I don't blame him for taking so long when he's also got a job and future installments of Strawberry Jam to work with. If I had infinite time, I'd consider taking a crack at doing it in Studio, but due to the high number of deprecated functions and the dependency on uninitialized variables (pre-studio games didn't need variables to be initialized, which is why they were strictly windows-only), I'd be better off just remaking it from scratch. I've got enough stuff on my plate at the moment, but the idea is tempting.

Also, while I hate to bring up something a friend of a friend said, I heard that the Iji update is supposed to add a couple of new endings. One of them was described as a "gut-punch" ending, so I can guess that it has something to do with attempting a genocide.

Well it's something that certainly removes me from playing it since my keyboard has terrible arrow keys and the like. Either way I can only hope it gets done eventually because I'm no good at playing sidescrollers/platformers with a keyboard.

LOOK HERE
What are the three girls in that nep pic's job? Three ugly nip girls didnt make it alone.

Everything is until it isn't.

Looks like dykes with shitty sense of fashion, so the art direction team prob.

It has other cosmetics that cost nothing. Not sure why those ones have a price tag. I think it was crowdfunded and they might have been backer rewards originally.

Girl in the middle is Naoko Mizuno who's the creator of the Neptunia series and the one on the left is Tsunako who does all the art. Not sure who the third is.

I played the first two levels. This game is fantastic so far

(off by one)
INTERNALIZED MYSOGYNY

brb, setting up a WindowsXP VM

I'm sorry, but did anyone else look at the fucking name of the guy who wrote that article in the OP?

The fucking irony is so tasty

Dude, that's old news. Ian was the one who actually realized he was fucked up and that the SJWs were wrong, apologized for his actions, and got professional help. He also confirmed the Crash Override logs as real.

He's flipped sides. He realized which side was more profitable to appeal to.

i also wander about that

i think its because cute girls
because everyone knows that are no cute girls in the real world… NONE!!!

mother 3 is a good example

Astroport - they made a fun strider, gradius, and Front Mission Gun Hazard clone games
Arcen games - I loved the hell out of AI war and I like the fact their other games have a psuedo mix in genre's like The Last horizion.

a captcha using the most basic symbols in nip language keeps out the retards

Yeah that's halfchan, and let's be honest how many of those retards stuck to it? game's already been split because the EN community shat itself so hard most nips want piggu to go home

Huh, I guess I'm a bit out of the loop then

Joy2Key honestly isn't that terrible for playing Iji. I'll admit that I don't think it's the most ideal solution at the moment either, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

A VM is really only necessary for Iji (unless you're on a different OS). HPP and Hero Core run ~*okay*~ on later systems since they're not as heavy on using primitives as Iji. I personally haven't had trouble with them, and they're additionally compiled in both 5.3a and 7 for maximum compatibility (it would be nice if they were compiled in Studio, but it can't be helped)

yal.cc/on-gamemaker-studio-game-decompilation/
archive.is/12Vi2

This is a completely unrelated thing, but this partially explains why older game maker games run so fucking slow. Add on the fact that 5.3a has problems rendering primitives on newer systems, and you have the General Tor slowdowns. The dude that wrote the article is also a pretty cool guy – made the SpelunkySD mod (Online Classic Spelunky before NuSplunk came out), regularly writes insightful stuff about programming, and made 3d FPS Pool for a contest using only a single script in Game Maker.

I'm on Loonix (Mint XFCE)
I also want to play some old doujin games on the VM, so it'll be worth it.

Thanks for the explanation, mate.

I DID buy HM1 twice before HM2 was even announced (one for Steam and one for GOG).

the brits should've executed their criminals instead of deporting them

The developers who made iji were seriously retarded. They had two versions of each sprite, one facing left and one right, entirely identical in 99% of cases, because they thought flipping horizontally would be too straining on the GPU.

Actually, it was because Game Maker 5.3a was limited in how its sprites were rendered compared to later versions. Namely, mirroring the sprites vertically and horizontally was not possible. The only thing he did with Iji that was particularly retarded was piggyback on the fact that variables didn't necessarily have to be initialized for things to function, which (along with deprecated functions, thanks YoYo) is what makes it hard to port to later versions of the software.

The game is indicative of his abilities almost 13 years ago, before indie gamedev really kicked off, and subsequently before most of the documentation and tutorials we can easily access were available. Even considering that, it's better than a lot of code I read when sifting through a lot of indies' projects these days. It's not a flawless project internally, but it's far from bad.

let me guess you're one le indie developer too?

I dabble with this stuff because I'd like to make games, but I'm not about to shove my head up my ass and call myself an "indie dev," due to the connotation is has in this day and age.

I'm just giving insights based on experience. The game is structured in a sane manner (uninitialized variables aside, which I already covered), and there are few useless resources. Dan also took the time to properly optimize the game so it wouldn't run like hot nasty shit on the toasters it was designed to run on, so there's that as well.

One of the saints of freeware gaming.
