They're both equally good.

Mario and Luigi had more good games, and Paper Mario had Two really good games.

But M&L has the same amount of good games as PM. Superstar Sage and Bowser's inside story are the only truly good ones.

Partners in time was trash, Dream Team had to many faults to be good and Paper Jam was a broken mess.

I'll have to agree with this. Both were really, really good. Though some backtracking in the middle annoyed me with M&L:SS. I consider both the best games in their contained series.

TTYD, hands down.

You're basically asking me to choose between my two perfect kids, user.

TTYD easily. Some of the characters in the other one are weird.

This one, maybe i'm a little biased because it's my favorite game.

Also very good!

...

Well obviously there's no way this will ever happen under Nintendo's current management, but what would constitute as a perfect Mario RPG?

I don't need perfect, I just want one of equal quality to the big three.

SMRPG > TTYD > SS > BiS > PM64 > shit > the rest

BiS = SuperstarSaga = TTYD > SMRPG > Dream Team > PM64 = PiT > Color Splash > Paper Jam > Sticker Star

The last three can die, I have mixed feelings about PiT, I loved the overworld, but the gameplay was very barebones compared to SS, vice versa for Dream Team, had good gameplay but the overworld was ugly as fuck. I wish they'd kept that cartoony artstyle, but that doesn't make the game bad.

What the fuck is Baybees?

It's that shit.

/thread

Was it really? I had both inside story and partners, and I loved the two of them equally

It wasn't, just not as good as SS.

All the good fluff that made TTYD memorable, but with more complex gameplay. As much as I adore the game, it's way too easy for its own good, partially due to Nintendo's everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach to balancing. Given their position in the industry, that kind of "ignore it if you don't like it" design makes sense, but I would really like to have been challenged in TTYD earlier than the moonbase. A lot of this stems from multibounce being so powerful, but there must have been a more elegant solution than making the cap for that random.

you what
dream team was boring as shit
they took a gameplay gimmick based around poking luigi's nose in his sleep and made it tedious

Can't believe someone saved my idea

DUUUUUUUDE THAT WOULD'VE BEEN SO AMAZING HOLY SHIT

I know. As a kid, it was pretty difficult, but eventually I got the hang of it, and having no memory card to actually save my game kind of helped. Right now I'm trying to beat TTYD using a couple of hard mode cheats to make enemies and bosses tougher (+1 DEF for bosses, double HP for all enemies), and I nearly fucking died to Macho Grubba. I am so fucked when I get to Cortez and/or Smorg.

I like Paper Mario 64 almost, if not just as much as TTYD. Is there something wrong with me?

PM:TTYD is a classic that you can play over and over and never get tired, because you can always replay it in different ways: with a different set-up, self-placed challenges, double pain mode, any way you want.

SuperStar saga is good. A very good game, but it was a bigger cooldown timer before playing it again. The dialogue is also less exquisite than TTYD, and it's more of a desire to enjoy the battle gameplay once again rather than the whole experience.

Your opinion is objectively wrong, you casual.

A decent opinion. I would consider Dream Team above shit, because it wasn't as good as bowser's inside story but it was definitely a good mario & luigi. It's only drawback was a lengthy tutorial. Not a must-play but not shit.

I'm going to place them in tiers:

PM:TTYD = SMRPG > SS = PM64 > BiS >>>>> Dream Team > Paper Jam = PiT >>>>>> Color Splash > Sticker Star

Yes, user, you've made the mistake of having good taste, and we can't have that around here.

I was in that thread, anons came up with some great ideas. I have most written down

Anyone got that texture and de-localization mod for TTYD?

Swap the original Paper Mario with Dream Team and you're good to go.

That ending parade
That ending parade theme

This game is perfect, it's only flaw was that it ended.
When you feel sad a game is about to end is when you know you truly enjoyed it.

It's a crime best RPGs don't get more thread activity

Actually, regarding the second pic, the partner introduced in that chapter should be a Dayzee of some kind. And when I thought of it, I plotted out a rough idea of how he or she could potentially work
>a potentially broken final move would be a nod to Perish Song from Pokemon - buffs both ATK/DEF by 7 for 3 turns, but kills you if you do not beat the enemy for those 3 turns
>to compensate, said move would require 10FP and cannot be cheesed out of by using a Life Shroom

Very much so yes, a game written by a separate company which was reused by Nintendo themselves in the Paper Mario games. I love the GBA games due to one specific reason that it's an original idea in what we do so plot of course.
I wanna impregnate Peach, Daisy and Rosaline too. Perfect blondes with my eye color. I'm just not royalty and my hair color isn't the same.

...

Mechanically that's actually pretty decent, gives the idea of failure at least to your action if you aren't good enough. I like it.

No, I just realized she isn't though if I fucked her, had children they'd be blonde kek, tanned but blonde blue eyed. The latter two are blonde with blue eyes however, isn't Mario blue eyed by the way?
Daisy is actually pretty sexy either way and she may as well be in Super Mario 2.

Wot happened to this shit thread. Do we need Daisy porn in here?
