End sanctuary cities, hire enough border patrol agents and have law enforcement actively enforce the law in big cities, building nice nasty prisons and detention centers to hold these illegals untill they are deported.

If you do this and properly fund the border patrol, and build the wall, you can easily deport over a million illegal aliens - they will live in fear, not being able to get driving licenses anymore and to do pretty much anything, and will eventually almost fully stop coming, and those who are here will be encouraged to leave.

With the immediate problem fixed, you can more easily reform legal immigration and labor laws protecting the national workers, requiring citizenship, and also reform citizenship law to end "ius soli" and anchor baby practices.

As for OPs question, it remains to be seen. Trump is up against essentially the entire corporate and political machine that profit off allowing and encouraging this immigration, so it's going to be a brutal battle.
