These sort of "demonstrations" are only useful to get known. GLR fought hard for every and any publicity, but that was only Stage One. He did it in order to get known for the polls.

Here's a better alternative. Be a member of the community. Have a circle of friends. Have drinking buddies, hobby buddies, sports buddies etc. Don't join groups that are solely political. You don't need to give information out to shady groups to post flyers and convince your friends.
