Also the le evil Russian meme that's used to discredit Assad could've just as easily have applied to the VC, and was, in 1968 If someone replied that the Vietnamese were fighting against imperialist genocide and that they were landing a heavy blow on US imperialism they would also have been correct. Even though weakening US imperialism doesn't harm world capitalism in the abstract sense, in general it is a good thing and drives the current system as a whole towards crisis since its largely US-centric.

This board was at its best back at the beginning of its life.

Back then it was more a series of ideological encampments that engaged in useful debate and discussion.
The only real form of unity was the shared dislike of Holla Forums and social justice.

Once the anarcho-filth turned up in greater numbers however that all changed.
The anarchists engaged in relentless shit-posting, discussion derailment and ad hominem attacks.
They broke the relative civility of the early board and ran most of the well-read personalities out.

After that point it was the anarchists that spearheaded a push for a united 'board culture' (of-course dominated by them).
Fast forward a few years and we find Holla Forums in an almost hopeless, sorry state.

The problem has always been the anarchists.
In a years time when this board is nothing more then an image-board version of r/FULLCOMMUNISM .
You will have them, and those that did not oppose them to blame.

It depends on what is meant by "anti idpol". It's true that from the beginning leftypol was opposed to identity politics, but that opposition was rooted in political theory. Being anti BLM didn't mean being opposed to black people getting shot or addressing issues specific to black people, for example. There was a more nuanced view regarding the difference between the two.

It seems though that as leftypol grew, being anti idpol took on a more reactionary flavor of disregarding anything that addressed issues other than class.

IMO it has to do with attracting new members, people that haven't or don't want to read theory in order to inform their views. Theory threads have dropped off considerably, particularly threads for sharing and discussing texts. Also any threads with an op longer than a paragraph get shit on by faggots.

Of course this isn't empirical research, just my subjective interpretation of trends I've noticed.
