They did the same thing with the Armored transport DLC which was free to people who preordered they said it came with 5 heists. More like 2

There were no pro jobs at launch and no Framing Frame either.

Now the game is better than its ever been. They added a free sniper, grenade, taser melee and throwing grenade, so you don't have to buy any of the weapon packs to get them. They got rid of the micro transactions for weapon skins and you can play every heist for free

Mania works on giving you damage resist when you deal damage, the higher the meter, the more damage resist you have

I remember using a build that doubled up on grenade launchers, one incidenary one explosive. It was great but I cant remember how it worked, but I was able to use bulletstorm to cover everything in fire

They changed how bulletstorm works with the last skill rework

My builds are: a designated stealth build, a techforcer, a pure fugitive with hugh mobility and dodge and a regular mastermind.

I for one would much rather play the launch version of Payday 2 than the current one.

The best weapons are available from the dlc only. The minority played this game at launch, I started in around 2013/2014, watched this game develop from a interesting, thought provoking team work simulator into just a game with a load of shitty gimmicks in order to make cheap cash.

Not just that, Hackers and shitty balance take the fun out of this game.

The soul of this game has long been dead and all you guys are doing is suckling on the remnants of it's decaying corpse. Naturally you'll defend it to your last breath, but the damage is done for a lot of people who were once fans of this franchise.

also the ai is kinda broken and stealth has virtually always been shit

Why even ask about builds after they changed the skill trees? You barely need to make a build at all, since you can ace like 3-4 top-tier skills easy.I used to struggle to get sneaky bastard, inspire, and silent killer together without sacrificing the "necessary" skills like transporter and shit, but now I can get inspire, sneaky bastard, most of messiah tree, silent killer, other ghost skills, and still have points left over for whatever. Builds are now a joke, since everyone can do everything at once.

I've only played PD2 after the skill revamp, though it seems to me there are now less specialized roles you can take rather than being good at everything.

It's easy to win certain DW heists, but some others are grade A bullshit. Mainly, Big Bank, Firestarter, Big Oil, and a few of the other slightly older heists are great fun on DW.

It's the opposite really. Sure, they separated skills into 3 specialized "trees" per class, but you can get almost twice as many skills as you could before. You used to have to put in like 20 points into one tree just to get ONE decent (tier 3~) skill unlocked, now you can get a tier 3 skill after like 4 points invested in the tree.

I completely lost my shit when I first played that heist. Easily the best loud heist in the game

Stealth would be golden grin (when the AI doesn't bug out it's a great stealth mission).
Loud would probably be hotline miami.

Is it possible to make an akimbo and pistol centered build worthwhile? Running and gunning as a tank shotgunner seems to work the best for me, feels outright overpowered honestly.

The best gun in the game is still a pistol, so yeah pistols work. Akimbo is kind of shit, though.
My favourite setup is GL40 primary and either the DEAGLE BRAND DEAGLE or jericho as sidearm (used as main weapon because OP).

The GL40 was incredibly buggy for me, like I could shoot at a guys feet and still not kill him.

Only use it for shields and the occasional group of enemies, really. On DW, most guys won't be 1-shot by a GL40. Also, if your ping is really high, the shot-delay makes the gun almost unusable, since you'll constantly do shit like "poke out, shoot, get back into cover and suddenly you explode" since the shot only registered after you went back in cover.

Looks like they haven't updated it still. After Point Break they stopped adding music to the soundtrack DLC and it wouldn't surprise me if they were waiting until the end of the year to introduce a "C-Sides" DLC or some other bullshit.

Other than the DLC unlocker, it's pretty hard to recommend stuff because I make my own mods 90% of the time.
I guess I'd say some of the best community stuff is
Makes the bots not retarded and buffs them to actually be able to hold their ground above normal. Cloakers and Tasers still fuck their shit, though.
Yes, it was made by SA Goons, but a broken clock is right twice a day because it's actually a good mod. Requires some tweaking last I checked to not crash the game, but adds several good features, the most important being Gage Coins. Gage Coins are earned by completing the courier assignments and can be spent to flat out unlock attachments/skins/masks/etc. It allows you to work towards what you want and completely bypass the bullshit RNG card drop system. Push to interact is also nice, as is custom laser colors.
It's the HUD mod I use. Lots of nice (though stuff like the kill counter is broken because of internal changes; like Goodmod this isn't really updated anymore) features and it can be fully customized at any time by hitting backspace.
If you're on a 144hz monitor, this lets you raise the retarded arbitrary framerate cap from 135 to whatever you want (like 144)
Adds a ton of new slots for skill sets, but locks them behind infamy levels and large cash requirements. You can open the mod files and edit those values yourself, like I did.
Shows you the nitty gritty of every weapon, including spread, reload time (both half and empty), exact damage numbers instead of rounded values, ammo pickup rates, etc.

That's about all I use of community mods.

What kind of shotgun is that?

Yeah, but it's outdated as fuck now so there's no guarantee it won't crash the game if you try using it. Nobody even cares to update it because OVK is claiming they plan on fixing those hitboxes and making it an official thing in a future update.
Speaking of bundle mods, I forgot the most important one.
Requires the pdbundle patcher, so you'll have to uninstall it before every game update and reinstall it after, but it removes all of the eyecancer in the game. Blue filter in menus? Gone. Piss filter in-game? Gone. Chromatic abberation and distance blur? Gone. Looks like a completely different game afterwards.

M3 can switch between pump and semi-auto, like the SPAS

From the video I don't see space for the pump to actually operate there, unless it's locked back in semi auto mode.

They totally changed bulletstorm so that anyone can get it, but only by using your ammo bag, and duration depends on how much ammo they get.
That change took a giant shit on my favorite way to end Hotline Miami day 2, as well as just making it not worth taking because ammo bags take too long to interact with when you're in a good spot to benefit from bulletstorm, especially since fully loaded and a sufficiently leveled perk deck actively work against it.

I think the enemies are just slight upgrades to the death wish units. The main gimmick of the "One Down" difficulty is that you can only go down once before going into custody. As for bullet spongeyness, they've actually increased cop health across all difficulties; the cloaker apparently has 3k health on Mayhem.

They got to these cop HP values by the assumption that everyone was running frenzerker. Dozers being immune to stun, and all explosives getting a damage buff is an overreaction to the overuse of HE shells. Cloakers getting an absurd HP buff is an attempt to maintain the "cloakers are hard, you asked for this!" meme.

Basically Overkill is still completely out of touch.

I have played One Down, but only on solo. The health for specials is a little ridiculous, but I dont mind the health of the normal enemies. I couldn't finish any heist due to being solo, but I feel like if I just play with one other guy it'll be doable.

It isn't a bad change to me because I'm not shit at the game. I used to play Overkill 145+ in Payday 1 all the time, sprinting dozers are no big deal at all. However, you are right in that cloakers need to have their HP lowered by a lot.

One of my biggest complaint about the new difficulties is that the near-doubling of the number of skulls on crimenet makes it a bitch to find heists on a particular difficulty without using filters.

Also not a fan of sprinting dozers, but that's because the fucking retarded pathing means they sprint away from me when I'm trying to shoot them in the face.


The cloaker hp buff only bothered me a little bit, since I got used to taking them down with a falcon rifle double tap on overkill, but they still die from being shot in the face once with a revolver, so I might be able to get used to it.

On a related note, did they buff up the hp of vest swats on overkill? I remember being able to kill them in one uncharged melee after 2 kills, now I need to charge it.

I like using machineguns but when I'm standing there unloading 20 shots into a taser's face (let alone a bulldozer) I know I'm not bothering to go above overkill difficulty if it stays like this. It's a shame too because I like the damage in Mayhem, I like the number of specials, I love the bulldozer is tough, can rush you and is an actual honest-to-god threat now. I think. the AI is slightly tighter too, I believe the shields are trying to wall up and tasers are sticking with other specials

You said you were running this with grinder? So 0 dodge grinder, underdog basic, and a die hard aced LBV. That comes out to a little over 400 EHP, with regen that isn't strong enough to do jack shit on One Down, and wasn't all that great on pre-update DW.

I've had the game since release, yes I have played pre-update DW. I've barely played the game after update 100 and whenever I did it was with friends, so I'm still not entirely used to the new skill system. Even then I've been able to play DW easily with my crew. And I do prefer accuracy for shotguns. Yes, I am aware of how shotguns work in the game.

Then why aren't you using the Shh! supressor, or the accuracy boost? You're also trying to run a shotgun without flechette?

So that's one of the weaker damage shotguns, without overkill basic aka 75% of its damage, and a 10 meter range before damage drop off.

Y'know, I was tempted to reinstall and go back to going fast with my triple MP5 build, but seeing this shit about balance being thrown out the window and remembering how retardedly unoptimized the game is makes me glad I uninstalled in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I've had a bunch of good memories with the game despite it being stuffed up the ass with DLC, but it looks like it's really not worth coming back to, especially since a few of the heists would just crash the game on me every time. The breakpoint for Tans on Mayhem and DW is currently 384 damage for 1 headshot. Right now how enemy health works is that each cop has the same base health across all difficulties, with Mayhem and DW adding a 2x multiplier and OD adding a 3x multiplier.

Why is it so hard for them to get the balance right? For a gametype that is "supposed" to be for level 100s I shouldn't be getting my shit kicked in as a level 95.

It's pretty ironic considering they said they were trying to make the difficulties feel more incremental with this update. I thought the new difficulties were fun when I first tried them, but after looking at the numbers I can tell they were not thought through at all.

Safes are like 40 cents each. I've gotten 3 different ones and all of them were around that price.
