I haven't drawn anything in these threads for a very long time, but I always check the thread at least once if I happen to notice one, just in case.

Kinda kills the motivation to draw here when your art is completely sidelined by stupid drama or some guy who decides to draw some porn requests.

Admittedly I don't remember if it was ever any different, maybe there were just so many draw threads that I didn't get enough time to care about it.

Yeah there's always the few people who consistently make the same requests and burn out whatever drawfags actually show up.

Then a few people try to make some arbitrary rules about what constitutes a request, which is then turned around by the few fags that request their waifu shit all the time.
It's one thing when it's a drawfag saying "what should I draw guise?", it's another when people are using drawthreads for free commissions.

The problem is that you can pull every last inch of attention from the thread and even attract some randoms from outside the thread by drawing a pair of tits.

If you happened to post your drawing somewhere near that moment, your drawing will basically get completely ignored as the thread rapidly fills with muh dikk replies.

Why not just model drawthreads after adgd generals, where anons post progress on any vidya related artworks, or get tips and help on their drawings. If a drawfag specifically is open to commisions, then someone can offer a /r/equest. That way, the threads don't clog up with shit. Also, any drama that starts appearing on the thread can be ruled under shitposting.

What I do is I try making every drawing an excuse to improve in some way, be it gesture, painting, linework, anatomy, etc.
That way, even if it doesn't gather attention at all, it wasn't lost at all.

It really isn't much different from normal drawing, it's just figuring out which pixels look good in what composition next to each other, and how they impact the overall shape…

It's a lot of trial and error to get it looking nice. the key is to either get REALLY wicked good with drawing with a 1 pixel brush, or just pick some widths, make some good looking lineart, and work on it from there.

Just C++. From what I've read, I think its called a high-level language, so it is made to be far easier to read and write for a person before it's translated into machine code.

What usually confuses me is what the syntax meaning/name are and how the code in general is structured for creating more complicated things.
I know how to assign basic stuff like value to variables, loops and if statements. Actually using them to create something doesn't make sense to me. I don't know how to break down the problem into its components to make something like a simple calculator.

Start with a more modern language like Python. This guide should help:

THE RULE IS THERE TO SPECIFICALLY PREVENT EXACTLY THAT TYPE OF SHIT
It was so bad that at the point some of us started to rebell out of 200 UIDs in a thread only 3 were drawfags. These threads were completely taken over by the free commission crowd and I remember mass-reported and banned when I started to voice my disagreement with the shittiness of those threads.

If you want to help these threads, enforce the drawfag-OP rule through board rules. Otherwise just fuck off.

If you´re not a drawfag dont make these threads PERIOD.
Anything else and you´re ACTIVELY making these threads worse.

Not even a regular but that seems like basic etiquette.

There should be limit on requests, so that until they get done you can't request more. If you want your request done, better fire up that paint and do those shitty requests in a way they deserve to be done, interesting ones will be done to a better degree, because they are actually interesting to artists.

If we decided that a draw fag could make a draw thread every 2 weeks would you think that is a good idea in general? Do ye think having the draw threads being a biweekly/weekly thing is overall better or worse then them being when ever?

a good request is something that is challenging or interesting. basically if i look at a request and think 'how the fuck do i draw that?' then i'll at least give it a try.
the only problem i have w/ porn requests is that they're usually so boring. drawing your waifu getting dicked isn't really that fun or interesting, there needs to be something more to it. the exception is stuff like drumanon or tilefag

maybe this is too autistic, but it'd be nice if there were a way to quickly view all the requests in a thread instead of having to skim through 200+ replies to find maybe 20 people who actually want something drawn. something like using Request: as a header so that it's easy to ctrl f through all of them
