The M16a1 was to fit the time frame we are going for (50's 60's) since They Hunger is all over the place in weapons it uses. To why we gave it a wooden pistol grip, handguard, and stock, it looks cool, it also give a rather dull and over used gun a nicer look. We were thinking about a FAL but decided against it since it wouldn't fit that well.

I've always thought They Hunger was more like 20s-40s, because of the cars and the trains and some of the weapons.

There is no canon time frame to They Hunger, while the location and some of the vehicles look 20's-40's a lot of the the guns are from the 80's 90's (the pistol is a silver M9) the soldiers that come later use helicopters that look almost like the UH-1 (It's even called huey_apache.mdl in the files) plus their gear (if you want to go by their models) is a lot more modern I think the devs didn't care and just went with whatever the heck they wanted, my guess is that They Hunger takes place sometime around the 80's but the town the player goes to is still stuck in the 40's
Tetris is a stock map for 5.0, dunno why it got overwritten.
