It's somewhat different. Monkey Ball has you tilting the stage. Marble Blast has you moving the marble directly.

Meh, the camera sucks. It defaults to this annoying downwards angle, so you constantly have to hold the right stick upward to see where you are going.

Why do games based around moving a sphere have to have generic ass platform segments? If I made a game revolving around steering a ball I would cut back on the flat surfaces and try to make it not feel like a platformer that could be played by a bipedal creature. Also the gem segments range from kinda fun to painfully tedious and the camera could use a bit of work, especially when I'm going downhill. Otherwise fun game. I've been coming back to it to chill out.
