Hey guys, I think a searchable format for these files may help the investigation. I'm putting one together for myself, so here is the general process for a somewhat workable searchable conversion. Please note that this method will NOT be perfect and will NOT get everything. It's a quick hack.

First, download all the files.
Then run the unzip process and get yourself a whole mess of PDF files.
Next, install tesseract and ghostscript.
Use a while loop to convert all of the PDF files into TIFF (this will take an UNGODLY amount of disk space and a long time. Be prepared to run it overnight on a large solid state drive. Large like 1tb+ large.
When you have your whole mess of TIFF files, run tesseract on them to begin an OCR into ascii text.
You are going to want to use a high DPI to convert the PDF documents into high resolution TIFF files.
I don't have an exact command sequence written out yet, as I have not done this in a while and i'm just remembering the last time I did something like this to read in ancient documents.

I've been pulling the scanned documents out of the pdfs and running them through tesseract. The results vary with the quality of image. The old telnet fonts are good, typewriten text not so much. I'm not going to post the images on my shitty dsl but you can look at the OCR results from my first runs here awktopus.net It's about half of the previously redacted shit. I'll add more in a couple days as I get it processed.
