Casino Royale tried to bring back the classic '60s aesthetic which was cool, only problem is Daniel Craig does not fit in well with the smooth dark-haired playboy look and comes off as Chad Bond rather than James Bond.

Casino Royal was the cancer that infested Bond by going with what was the latest fad, Bourne-type of action-movie with stupid stunts, parkour and fast-paced-cut-scenes during fights to pretend he's some elite fighter.

You're repeating nines have a point but Bourne Identity was fucking awesome. Casino Royale is hardly the only action movie in any period to have those kind of stunts.

Bourne was good but the movies that tried to copy it hasn't aged very well.

And i fucking hate action-scenes where you can't see the action and nowadays every action-movie hero is a ninja in terms of martial-arts skill.

Bond was always meant to look a bit of an out of place thug in proper society, so from a modern perspective the look worked. Shame the series went to absolute shit after the first one.

Craig is shit, there is no justification in both physical and psychological aspects. Dalton was indeed the best Bond tho, no objections at all

It suffers from a weak antagonist, no focus on Gyorgi's double/triple agent backstory and trying to place a ton of subplots all over the place. It features 2 of the best sequences of the series, but they feel rather isolated. Licence to Kill had better pacing but was outrageously silly at parts

I think License to Kill suffers from far too long of a movie, they should've cut it down.

I also really like Live and Let Die. The sillyness of that movie is beyond great. Moonraker and Tomorrow Never Dies was also gold movies.

I think the idea of seeing an older Bond would be quite interesting – less wacky supervillains and as a more down to earth and gritty spy thriller.

Depends on the gadgets - IMHO they went too far with some of the gadgets in the films, and Die Another Day and Moonraker were straight up science fiction films.

Those were fun though. Bond was never truly a serious franchise. Even Dr. No was fucking goofy.
