Are walking simulators a genre now? Are they called something else? There are tags like Walking Simulator on steam but I don't think they say it's a genre.

They're just myst without the puzzles.

What, do you need wikipedia to tell you it's a genre before you think of it as one?

Even if it's not a genre, it's an accurate and useful description of what a game is.

I also like how it's become an implied insult.

generation 80 a cute

Yeah, it's fun that the insult for the genre is what caught on as it's main descriptor. It would be like if MOBAs or whatever were commonly called ASSFAGGOTS.

Gen 80 did really good considering gen one was a complete loser.

are you into retard moe or some shit?

It's the only on that could put its ass up for you.

Walking sims are just a degeneration of adventure puzzle games. Aiming straight for an emotional level. Little thinking, a lot of passive intake.
Seriously, it's beyond me that people wouldn't rather pick up a fucking book than play all these abominations. Don't even call it a genre, it's not even worth associating them with games at all.
They're called GAMES for a reason dammit.
