How many video games actually address "mature" themes? You know, the really gritty shit like rape, child soldiers...

Off the top of my head, games I know of that approach genuinely mature topics with anything resembling tact are

And that's all I can think of. Games are usually fine with copious amounts of violence and death but anything sexual is usually met with hesitance at best.

"Mature themes" will never be properly addressed in games and that's ok. Games are stuff you do when you're on a mental vacation. People prefer to be entertained rather than engaged.
