I went back and played it about a year or two ago. It's on life support. The game's pretty much entirely supported by botting gold farmers who use their cheated ingame wealth to buy tradable premium accounts to farm yet more gold and people who are paying to win by buying tradable premium accounts to sell for shitloads of gold to the botters.

It's alright if you want to go pubstomp the shit out of entire enemy teams using your years of experience in Doom/Quake/UT/CS as the edgy as fuck trenchcoat wearing demon guy who is the only skill indexed hero besides bomb king and as such is disgustingly overpowered compared to everyone else when used by a person who has even passing experience with real first person shooters.

I mean god damn I am stealing all the gold stars at the end of the match using his mobility dash to dance around everyone then shitting on them by landing consecutive headshots with his revolver.

And the opponents are so stupid that they don't stop shooting at you when you bring up your reflect shield. And I ain't talking about bots either. The bots actually put up a fight and know how to look up and behind themselves.

The game itself is an incredibly shallow class based team multiplayer shooter with only one game mode which is hybrid cp/payload. Same old mobashit features: three skills and an ultimate that is press E to win, to make matters worse you don't even need to do well to charge it since it slowly builds up by itself even if you don't do anything. "Loadouts" which are just slight boosts to your skills in the form of cards and snowballing in the form of buyable upgrades between rounds using currency you get by capturing objectives and getting kills are likewise presented.

The entire tank class of heroes is cancer and is not fun to play as or to play against and exist only to slow down games which are already usually ten minuted long tops.

Supports are entirely useless due to the fact that there is health regen for everyone outside of combat and inside their heals are too pittiful to matter and easily outdpsed. They are just a middleground between offensive and tank characters.

All in all it's shit but free shit.

Yes, I'm defending the game as not being shit. It's mediocre indeed, but that's it. You'll have more fun with Quake and Unreal (good luck finding players though) but this is an ok game to pass time from time to time.

I played it enough just now to hit level 5. Got into my first game against other people, chose Kinessa, didn't die the entire time, had most kills/highest streak/most multikills/highest damage/etc. out of everyone on both teams.

I'm kind of fucking bored, guys. Are these people just completely unused to shooters or fucking what? Apparently at least 2 of them (including 1 on my team) were unaware there was an inventory or things to buy in spawn, despite the fact that to even enter that mode you have to be in at least…what…7 or 8 games against AI?

Most of the characters seem lackluster. Maybe it'll get better with more characters, but from what I've seen right now (and, again, I have to admit that's based off of only one game against people, the rest being against AI) there's just no one who really knows what they're doing, or they know what they're doing and are just so completely fucking unskilled at any kind of first-person shooting that their knowledge accounts for bullshit.

Keep in mind that your average player is retarded everywhere.

Second of all, they are out of bot matches and they don't know what the fuck is going on, they don't know how to use the card loadout system and probably will be buying items of muh 5% dmg without taking into consideration that the enemy team has 3 healers and he should get 30% fuck up heals cause muh damage.

I would find it hard to believe that those guys can't find the shop since when you start it says really shiny PRESS [Button that you put on Options, default is I] TO OPEN SHOP every single time you are in the spawn.

Does the game gets better later? Yes, but it doesn't get AS good, it just gets better and enough to have fun for two-three hours top.

On a side note its not only that the average player is shit, it's that the average player thinks of this game of a shooter and it has skills, so they are kinda lost when every character is unique, so they don't know what each character does or what their cards can do. Later on you get confused with stuff like MrEdge healing himself with Reversal and you find out that he has a card that is not on the basic loadout (default) that heals him while using reversal, that the sniper throws three mines instead of two, that Makoa has lifesteal with one skill, that Evie can blink a second time back etc etc…

So, in short, the game HAS depth thanks to the cards; the problem is that noone uses them till you start rankeds or a higher casual matches and mind you, to get into rankeds you need to unlock 12 characters and have a few characters to lv4, so it's literally closed to those who only main one character or those russians that go "I died once, GG my team sucks I afk" making rankeds quite enjoyable, however it has the typical problem of "we need X role, suck it up and play it" as is expected from rankeds AKA tryharding.

You see when you finish a match you get that shit of "Most X" and you believe that it is compared with the rest of your teammates or the enemy team maybe, however that is not true. You can get Most Damage and if you click in score you wont be nº1, they should totally change the fucking word of "Most" or to at least make it clearer.

I mean, I as ruckus got gold on kills and damage from how HUGE the damage is with the ultimate.

Skye indeed needs a nerf, you can BLOCK the damage with a shield or hide behind cover and it WONT hit you most of the times. However, the hitbox is a bit retarded sometimes and the cover wont help, I dont know why they thought a character that has up to 160% increased movement speed while invisible having a 5K AoE bomb was a good idea. It's only countered by Grover or Fernando's ultimate (or Grohk Ghost walk but that doesnt counter it fully, it just makes you invul to the ultimate and thus not helping your team).

She is in my opinion the only character that feels OP in the game, others feel strong and others feel "meh" or "ok" at best. Drogoz and King Bomb are great but require a lot of aim or to spam like a retard, if you don't have proper aim you'll end up dealing less damage with these character than a support or a tank. Meanwhile even if you are retarded, with Viktor or Cassie you'll deal a lot of damage just by holding M1 because eventually you'll hit something unlike the slow as fuck projectiles of Drogoz.

Skye doesn't blink by the way, she just gets invisible two or three times (the third is with a card when she gets at 30% HP).

I told you that one of the mechanics to avoid getting killed by her ultimat doesn't work properly (cover) sometimes and thus making it a "I'm dead I better just deal damage before I die" which is sad, what's worse is when I play Grover and I counter it with his ultimate and my teammates decide to run like headless chicken while the poison bomb kills them outside my healing. Keep in mind that the bomb is 5K but goes 1k per tick, so you can always heal it even if you only have 1.8K like Evie with Grover's ult.

However that build is perfect for what it is, the net at 1 point is good, remember that I had put lifesteal and the net increases the damage of Buck's M1. So I'm using the net for burst lifesteal more than anything, cause the slow is quite shitty to be honest. He is a lacking character, but man he's tanky as FUCK with that build, I can 1vs3 nearly nonstop touching the balls of everyone so my team can do the objective. I love it.

Resident Evil Remake is pretty good.

This kind of game has been needed for a while since you don't have many options for team shooters unless you give blizzard money or continue to play old games. Which is fine but its really nice to have something fresh. Payload is also one of the best game types because it very simple to adapt to once players understand the concept of how to actually win it. Gameplay is a bit off now since most players are fairly clueless when it comes to how games play out. That just means the games has actual new players.

I've been enjoying the time I've put into the game (been playing for a few months now), been a lot of hit and misses with the changes but they seem to have figured out a general direction. I've had way more more close 3-3 games then I've had 4-0 games which is frankly good enough for me to play the game regularly.

Its F2P with Smites model where you buy the characters with in game currency that they throw at you right now so if you started now you'd have all the characters unlocked pretty quick, founders pack is same deal as smite but right now you really don't need it since shit unlocks so fast. If you go in with a "LOLOVERWATCHCLONE" you might hate it because of the goggles but I've seen a few people say they actually prefer it over OW because of the differences. I have no opinion on OW since I have only a few hours played. If you enjoy team based FPS you may enjoy Paladins because outside OW you don't have many options, TF2 is shit.

Game is going to be shat on no matter how good it is due to the release timing so its hard to get a real answer out of anyone. I'd recommend playing it a bit and seeing how you feel. Just note you're forced to play with bots from level 1 - 5 but it goes quick/lets you get a feel of the maps and flow. People shit about this but if it wasn't implemented they'd be crying over a need for forced bot matches.

There are shields, and it also has an in match item system, where you can buy up to four items and level them, they last only for that match. Shit like generic "take x% less damage" upgrades. It has a combat/out of combat style for regenerating health, so in case the four retarded hood niggers that end up in your team never pick a support, which they never do, you're not completely fucked, it also has a stealth mechanic, although that's only for one character for now. Not really important, but they also have a thing with skins where you can mix "heads" and "bodies" of characters, and the simple recolor skins don't need real shekels to buy, and are stupidly cheap for how much money you make in the game.

But, again, knowing hirez, don't expect anything good in the game to last too long.

Smite used to be much worse than it is right now and I remenber they tried a lot of retarded ideas while developing it, like buying in-game up to 30 individual stat boosts in the stat of your choice for your God. Was meant as a late-game gold sink but it didn't last since that's what items do anyway.

The first 15 minutes of LoL and Dota are the worst. Its the least interesting portion of the moba match. Because that is in fact the grind portion. After that you end up having varied balances where you may have a winning lane, a neutral lane and a losing lane thats when it gets very exciting. HOTS tries to do away with this but instead it feels mostly like a neutral game the whole time because of this.

Paladins and Oyveywatch are not MOBAs, Paladins has a rather simple item system but that's about it.
It's mostly constant action.

If you are talking about something like Dota, well in that case it's a very varied and interesting game with insane hero, ability and item based combos that people have set up. The "Laning stage is boring" excuse is rather poor generally, as the laning stage goes as fast as you want it to go, if you want to be in a constant action style and go for kills and tank up damage, that's your choice, but the alternative is to block creeps and try to have the creeps near your tower, so the enemy cannot attack you or they die quick securing yourself very safe farm. It's something you need to play yourself to understand, just don't go shitpost on Holla Forums once you don't bother to learn the basics and get fucked in the ass then whine about how "le 4 abilities" when you can't even master said 4 abilities.

I agree on the first 15 minutes (more like 20 but still) however it doesn't actually get very interesting afterwards, as those games tend to have 5 minutes with teamfights, ganks and a major push right after the first 20 of farming and those 5 minutes alone decide the rest of the game in 95% of the matches.

After that, you get a long and slodding boring game for at least more 20 minutes where the winning team just snowballs even harder.
I'd argue that, despite still being a flawed genre, at least HotS does the best it can do with it. You skip the first 15 minutes that nobody likes and instead of 5 deciding minutes and 20 snowballing afterwards, you get 20 deciding minutes and 5 snowballing afterwards.

It feels neutral because for most of the game, both teams can still win and it's only decided near the end of the match (unless the difference in skill is massive) but I kinda like this, instead of being forced to watch for 20 minutes how a team casually wins and snowballs.

It's perfectly okay for a game to snowball in order to end sooner, but 20 minutes is far too long, especially when their outcome is decided in just 5.

There's literally no advantage for the players except not spending cash, which for a game you can spend hundreds of hours in, really doesn't mitigate all the other problems you get.

The game still has a lot of placeholder art and animations, and still a lot of bugs and unfinished maps (like clipping through the rocks when you jump off the map).

They dumped Tribes for Smite, not Paladins. Off topic but it's understandable why they abandoned Tribes (although they are releasing occasional updates to it now), it didn't make much profit and was very unpopular. A part of that was their fault as they didn't push buying stuff hard enough and you could earn most guns at a easy pace.
You can buy champions with gold, 5000 gold for each champion or about an hour of play. I unlocked 2 in a 2 hour play session. Each game gives you about 400-500 gold and each rankup with each champion will give you another 500. This F2P system is very kind, in my opinion. One of the best F2P systems I have seen aside from Dota 2.

Which were:
A Viktor and weapon skin for him, Buck commando-scottish skin, Evie Black Ice, green Windr- Cassie, yellowish and more paladin like Fernando, that one horse and finally that one skin for Skye without the mask that is not just a recolour.

However the links died for all of them except the horse YESTERDAY. Sorry mates, you can however try some of the links and see if I skipped some that may be alive, I took them from a steam guide while in game, it's one of the few with 5 stars, easy to spot. Good luck.

As said, you face only bots till you get to Lvl5. Afterwards it will be players, this is a trick to make casuals believe that they are hot shit and stick with the game or as a hidden tutorial which would be neat to think that way instead.

Dirty Bomb was garbage from beta to launch to today. Plus it looked visually terrible which made it a huge turn off for me. Paladins isn't anything special but some stuff does look visually pleasing instead of "god why". Generic a bit but better then full retard

If it wasn't forced to play a few games people would just complain non stop about how everyone is terrible at video games and they should force all newbs to play against bots. Its a lose/lose situation regardless of what a game does. It'll take people who need practice to really understand whats going on closer to 100 games to really get the basics.

Dirty Bomb had some neat concepts but it still went with the Counter Strike autism with the guns and most Mercs ended up kinda generic. Those that didn't had something neat like the Rez Sniper, or the Laser Satellite.
At least Paladins tries to break the mold, even if it copies a lot of archtypes from Overwatch.

Mobile as fuck for starters probably, but here's probably the run down on her

Her Ice staff attack (left click) is pretty much a rocket launcher (6 shots before reload)

Ice Block (right click) makes her immune to all damage, an area of effect takes place while in this form and marks enemies to be slowed and take more damage from your primary weapon

Blink (Q) pretty much teleports her a distance away (has a good enough range to escape or close the gap) upon using it she gains more damage for a few seconds with her primary attack

And her snow storm (don't quote me on this, but it's also her E) slows down nearly everyone caught in it into a halt and cripples them (they cannot use any sort of ability that gains them movement in any way possible)

She's fun, by far I switch between her, Makoa, and Drogoz

She's fun, she has the highest M1 damage of the entire game, she has the highest mobility in the entire game (but the lowest HP pool, 1.8K), invul and teleport constantly wherever she wants and whenever she wants with only 3s CD (that can also heal her), she can fucking fly

Also, even if Evie is a glass cannon, she has invulnerability, teleport (or double teleport), and she can fucking fly. She has more fucking survival than ANY of the DMG characters.

Try Grover, throws axes, heals on ability, hookshot on movement and his ult is a disco dance AOE heal. Decent health pool too

Grohk's abilities seem kinda ass tbh.
His staff is alright, decent DPS if you can keep on target. His M2 is ass, very little damage and the bouncing is also really bad and low range.
Ghostwalk would be good but duration is beyond low.
Ultimate has way too low damage and can target only 2 enemies at once for some reason.
Healing is pretty decent, both ultimate (although it is not worth the recharge) and totem.

Compared to Pip, Pip has a lot more damage from each shot and more area to damage. Plus a ultimate that can kill anyone in a few shots.

Healing becomes great if you go for the upgraded heal card. Then it heals 1-4% of health per tick.

If you can hit a M2 and just keep on them for the M1 you can take out a lot even with basic cards.

Ult shines with a push with teammates for the heal and speed up anyway, damage is just the cherry on top.

Seconding Buck, he can seriously haul ass when in the right hands. Make sure you get the duration card for his net since netted enemies take +30% damage.

I looked her up earlier, and yes Ying is currently being remade and not available until then. A shame too, gameplay of what I saw looked interesting but unsure what the actual final release is going to look like yet.

I'm kinda disapointed with the Supports. The only available was the furry dude but his entire support is one skill for splash healing.
I checked all others and they seem to also only have 1 skill to heal people and that's it. The furry dude was mostly a grenadier most of the time than actual support and I ended up healing myself more often than my team…

Also, I've noticed something strange with the movement. If you try to jump against walls or objects, you go sligthly higher than normal for some reason.
There's a map with some high beams that I could only reach if I jumped with the squirrel ability against the wall to boost the jump, otherwise I'd never make it there, for instance. And I think other heroes count for this as well.

Could be just a small assist to climb shit but I dunno. The hitboxes of the terrain seem kinda fucked, I get stuck a lot on small pebles while sprinting as Viktor.

That seems to be the point, as every current support (dunno about Ying after her rework) also has a crippling/ slowing ability (explosive potion, that bouncing electricity ball, crippling axe throw) to help their team get kills instead of just being healbots.

That's definitely intentional, it occurs if you jump while looking at a closeby wall, which also means you can bridge larger gaps if you quickly look at the wall next to you before jumping at times. Sage for doublepost.

No, I don't think that's what happened. More like I got stuck in the ground geometry, as it also happens when falling down with the frozen bitch.
I just start running in a direction and I keep rubberbanding really fast on the same spot, like I'm gonna explode, until I jump. Noticed it mostly in Enchanted Forest near some stairs.
Doesn't seem to be that frequent and "it's still a beta", so whatever.

On the other hand, the Frozen Bitch is pretty nice. Flying around and ruining sniper's shit or confusing the fuck out of everyone with her Blink is great. Not even Overwatch has mobility like that, something that many characters (Mercy especially) definitely needed.

HiRez has stressed they didn't want any "pure" supports in the game because they would end up being mandatory picks. Spreading support abilities around a variety of classes keeps things interesting. I generally enjoy the supports in the game as someone who has played the role is 90% of the games I've played. Its nice to actually do something in a game again instead of just standing around like a jackass hoping some dipshit makes a play/gets caught.

As the jumping is intended since it rewards player knowledge/experimentation. When the maps were bigger (and much shittier) you had the mount to do all these precise jumps. Interesting mechanic to play around but it look so god damn retarded mounting up every other minute/between the most minor of shit,.

That's a pretty good idea though. In a casual shooter making a purely healer support is boring. Waiting and healing is not fun for anyone.

Well making HP bars go up is just as good as making them go down as far as playing the game, though I get that most people wouldn't like pure healers, especially if they were mandatory.

What happened to the mounts anyway? Only a few months ago, they were in as I can find some videos on youtube showing that. What happened to those big ass maps where you could mount at will?

I saw a button in the keybindings for "Sprint" that was used by the mounts, I think. I re-bound the F ability there as it's often a movement one, but is that button perfectly useless now? Are there really no maps where you can use your mount at will?

Gone for now, they tightened up the maps so there is a lot less dead time between action/walking around like a dipshit doing nothing interesting. They kept the mounts for spawning and replaced the mobility with a higher movement which combined with the smaller maps make a more "focused" game. At least thats what I assume the logic is.

The big maps would have confused so many people it would sour people on the game I'd think

Would be nice if they split up big map moba style with item systems and small map action style.
