"hot glue" isn't really a meme, they actually mostly use either hot glue, or goo alternatives that you can actually buy.
The reason why is that if you actually jack off onto a figurine, your semen will ruin it, permanently, due to how semen reacts chemically to the materials used to build them.
They can get pretty expensive so it's better to use artificial alternatives (that are also easier to wash off).
