I'd expect 335-355ish to be the same as TTK's 170-280 path where you mostly equip new blues. I also stockpiled yellow and purple engrams but I'm not going to decode any of them until the day of the raid.

The last video i watched from them said that after the 5 mission main story there are a lot more things like sleeper simulant and that quest and strike i only just ran into coming back where you fight that moloch guy in the hellmouth after chasing him from the dreadnaught.

If you get back in, one of the more relaxed places to grind would be the Cosmodrome near the Rocketyards, while one of the most efficient would be on the landing zone on the Dreadnought. Three of Coins are items you can buy from Xur, the weekly guy who rolls in from THE ZONE with a bunch of goodies.

Apparently EU ps4 users are now getting the dynamic theme but its a little buggy apparently.

the answer is so. Anything that isn't Legendary automatically loses, and exotics usually beat those. They balance the game for the fucking PVP and purposely fuck over PVE, ruining all the good gear you've earned.

They have fixed some of the issues you asked about but judging from what you wrote I don't think the game is for you. It's not a story-focused game and likely never will be (which I consider a pro) and if you hate the raids then you won't like half of the game.

Welp, i filled my bank with legendaries and a scant 5 exotic weapon emblems, better than nothing i guess. 17 hours to go till my exo takes a backseat to my qt awoken huntress.

I'm stockpiling engrams to decrypt once the loot tables update. Back in house of wolves farming those chests pre launch and then opening a fuck ton of 280 legendaries gave a lot of choice in weaponry at the start.

WoW in mists of pandaria had a way worse version. In destiny getting coins from strikes and packages lets you buy a consumable that increases drop rates. Simple.

In WoW you had to grind dailies to buy coins that were a straight up slot machine including the csgo crate opening kind of animation cycling through shit and you could only use 3 per week.

ToC is an RNG within an RNG. It doesn't increase the drop rate, it "gives you a chance to maybe" get something valuable. There are a lot of stories about people getting an exo with 1 ToC while others get 1 after spending 10 ToC.

ToC is the only way to get an exotic engram to drop. If you don't use them at all, exotic engrams just don't drop from anywhere. If you've got the coins to burn, it's a decent way to increase the amount of exotic loot you might earn.

Obviously I wouldn't recommend buying any new ones once squidface comes back this weekend, since there will hopefully be new exotics to buy and your coins would be better used on those. But there's no sense in not using them if you've got them when you can. Just pop one before you do a boss fight and cross your fingers, don't burn four or five on one boss.

After not playing for like a year or two, I ended up buying TTK bundle for 25 bucks.

I really wish they released all this content at launch, and I really hope Destiny 2 has all of the content at launch, I'm gonna take the "Wait and see" approach with it when it comes out.

Though I found literally nothing wrong with the game itself, and with rise of iron coming out, it seems like it's a full game now. But it's a shame, Bungie's polish, satisfying gunplay and awesome enemy AI being wasted on what is essentially a glorified beta for a good year.

Though I'm really liking all of the additional content though.

That's been their problem since launch, and I'm hoping that they've learned from their experiences when the sequel comes out. The gameplay itself is polished and fun, but there's always been a problem with content droughts. TTK started out well with a decent pacing of additional content for a few months, especially in those hidden exotic questlines, but after SRL it fell off a cliff.

If they can just keep providing reasons to come back and play some more, along with some other interface tweaks (grimoire in-game, in-game LFG system), then Destiny 2 will probably be alright. It'll help that they don't have to support the old consoles anymore, so that lead weight around their ankles is gone.

Base game has great art, music and gunplay but garbage story. first two expansions were fun but shallow as fug. taken king turned it into captain mals wild ride where you team up with nathan fillion to go around the system on adventures with more fun things to do that really improved the game. It didnt get enough post launch support but now its over and Rise of Iron hits tomorrow thats a bit of a none issue now theres a huge content drop tomorrow. I've heard gameplay compared in parts to modern call of duty but i woudnt know ive never played them but it feels like halo 3/reach with some elements of diablo thrown in. It doesnt feel as floaty or auto track heavy as Overwatch but its also not going for a stark realism thing or the weightiness of something like F.E.A.R

If you like your shooters more about shooting aliens with some vehicle stuff than tacticool bullet management and corner checking you might like it. But bare in mind the worst part of it right now is the worthless base game you can get for like a fiver is very shallow compared to the current collection version.

Id say try the demo and see what it does for you, never go into any game blind if you are paying for it.

It's pretty fun, the shooting is satisfying the the strikes are great.

Raids and higher level strikes are where it's at though. If you enjoyed some of Halo's shooting set-pieces then you'd enjoy this.

But at the end of the day, you need to pray to the RNG gods for good gear with good abilities.

Take that for what you will, they tweaked the leveling system and light level is really just overall attack and defense rolled into an easy to follow stat.

Well people have pointed out something interesting. In all the trailers they have shown a SIVA infested pusle rifle that had gjallarhoen style rounds the split on impact. Now the dataminers checked all the raid and engram weapons its not there. Which means its got to be another Sleeper Simulant style questline.
This gets me excited since i love solving puzzles for weapons instead of rng.

Motherfucker, I don't have a PS4 anymore, but I've been trying to find a game that has mechanics similar to the raids in this game(big groups going through dungeons with crazy mechanics) and the closest I got so far is FFXIV, yet I still have a shitload of levelling before it's supposed to actually get to that point, and it's not as actiony as Destiny.

Desperately waiting for 2 on PC.

It's great, as long as you know what you're getting. It's not Halo 5 so the "campaign" doesn't have a lot of story and is just something you do because you have to. It's not an MMO so it doesn't have an open world or content updates every month. It's an Action RPG, so at the most basic level it's based around repeating activities and getting gear to make your character more powerful.

That doesn't account for the goals you can set for yourself, like mastering a difficult role in a raid, learning to solo activities meant for 3-6 people or going flawless in the PvP endgame. It's also very social - raid groups are six people and not sixteen or 24 so it's easy to put together a pick up group, and you end up raiding with all sorts of different people. That's been my favorite thing about Destiny: I've been playing for two years and outside of a few real-life friends I've never raided with the same people twice. If you approach it like an MMO and play with the same people all the time you'll get bored.

Welp, to get the Gjallarhorn you need the dormant siva clusters aka the calcified fragments 2.0 5 for the first quest so far, found 3 so far going to replay the story for easier to find ones.

The Brood Mothers give you stuff for the Archon Forge, as far as I know. Also, the Archon Forge pushed my shit in. You definitely need a team for that.

The Splicer Keys let you reenter the Archon's Forge after you die or enter another group's session. They also unlock some areas in the Plaguelands, including one you have to go to to start the Gjallarhorn quest.

It's not just Broodmothers, either. There are roving Majors in the Plaguelands including Knights and Servitors that drop them. I've also gotten a drop from some of them called Splicer Intel Relay but I don't know what that does.

So far the keys are tied to two exotics i have found. The first lead me to a patrol quest where i went back down into the SIVA bunker and fought a walker and a mini kell for a medal, then went around the world to collect one from each plaguelands zone, then 5 SIVA clusters and two missions to get the Gjallarhorn.
The second you go back from the spawn through the empty areas to the cosmodrome -but must be the plaguelands version in deep winter- and head to the wall and use one to open the way through and fight the thralls all the way up into the ketch for a chest containing blueprints for an exotic version of your very first broken white quality rifle.
Then you got to 2 places on the way to the sepiks fight in the open world and the stairs just past the warehouse where you found your first ship for 3 parts then you have fight cosmodrome mobs for 10 blueprint scraps and then you have a timed fight to beat a SIVA overdosed splicer captain leading to a chase down the wall for a very very ad and explosion heavy fight that took 3 tries to solo myself till i learnt where to go and to nuke adds first and then you get an exotic machine gun and are told 'go back to where you were raised as a guardian and test it out' leading to a "press [ ] to chat with ghost" moment that was nice.

From what it looks like its not all one big drop like TTK. There are 5 missions to shut down SIVA production ending in a really, really cool boss but they specifically tell you A: somethings going on with the awoken and B: Rasputin isn't a Warmind, thats just what the vanguard wants to think and he has his own army of unfeeling, unstoppable warmachines so they are setting up more story probably to do with all the gear and exotics they added in the game that you cannot get from engrams or strikes right now.

It looks like the ideas is spent 3-5 hours on a campaign for the act 1 story of you joining the iron lords and SIVA being released -even if you cut the production off there still lots out there in the wild you need to fight- and in weekly resets/patches things are going to change and progress and in some way involve the Awoken Queen coming back for the waifufags and rasputin will 'manifest' whatever that implies. I know in the base game he was originally meant to be the prototype exo but Owl Sector intimates that is now the origin of Cayde 6 because he was in massive debt to Clovis Bray who turns out where literally Umbrella and it was removed from all records by Rasputin.

RoI's "campaign" only takes a couple of hours to finish but Destiny has never been about the story missions. It's about the stuff you get to do after.

Don't have it, but played it just for that with a buddy, they kinda lied about the hype about this having a better story than Halo, loved the grimoire and encyclopedia, but the base game was bare bones, and I stopped giving a shit about the "multiplayer" aspect of an MMO unless it's a Holla Forums guild/clan.

They obviously fucked up somehow with the marketing because a ton of people bought it expecting Halo 5 so they thought they were done after they finished the story missions. Either that or they thought it was Elder Scrolls in space and dropped it when it wasn't anything like that. I didn't really know what it would be like when I bought it, but I had fun playing the alpha and beta. It ended up being one of my favorite games.

Destiny 2 is out next year unless Bungie and Activision chickens out and shits another expack or update for people to eat up, PC version is somewhat confirmed after Destiny 2 is out.

i fully expect a 'definitive experience' of 1 and 2 together on pc.

Busted out the campaign right quick last night with a bud. Wasnt the worst, but five missions wasnt enough. Aside from executive/Activision decisions, I believe the lack of content can be attributed to Bungies dogshit engine. I dont have source with me, but i recall anonymous exBungie employees (or something to that effect) said it takes at least an hour each to open/load, save, complie, and open the playtest environment. That right there is half a typical workday.

Bungie has a LOT they need to do if they want a decent playerbase for 2. The way things are now, i personally believe Bungie has no intention of bettering themselves or the game based on the poor decisions theyve made.

I got a relic yesterday where npcs i melee become allies, i think we are seeing the testing for npcs in the field. Already the cannon section and the not at all Halo explosive ending suggests dropping the pstripple means a larger experience.

So Archon's Forge is pretty retarded. You can only hold one offering at a time (not one of each offering, but one offering *period*) and you can't really help randoms like you could in Court of Oryx. I also haven't noticed any rewards from finishing any offerings.

I think they will be shipping out a fix patch for a lot of stuff. Multiple keys held, make the chests hold more than 2 fucking spinmetal and so on.

They're already bleed out of talent because some were pissed at the decisions made, really don't see it happening, but oh well, you can see them making people play RoI for a year or two, kek.

AI combat npcs that aren't retarded? that's long overdue.

Well one thing i miss from Halo was the fights where i would autismally try and keep all my UNSC soldiers alive by the end.

I know some of you know this feel.

Can't even remember a single mission that involved NPCs that would fight with you in this game, and most of the time you'd just see them technically fight in cutscenes.

Would play this game after it goes cheap and you can play with a Rasputin-Exo.

I think they may have nerfed the difficulty a little already. The hard hitting mobs arent giving you jelly vision after a second and i did the 5 mission story on my Warlock in about 30 minutes. Using the same weapons as i did on my hunter.

That or the room clean ability of thunderstrike really needs a nerf.
