The biggest criticism of GTA V is how assholish the police are in that game, more than any other GTA to date. Walking up to an officer and standing in front of him for ten seconds makes him take out a gun and shoot you.

I was speaking more towards the difficulty level of trying to kill them as your faggy complaint revolved around the FBI and Military being included. The point is not that the police are punishing; it's that they are overtly aggressive. If they see you do a minor offense, they pull their guns and fire. In GTA4 however, they try to arrest you.

They are more annoying than anything. Doing anything wrong results in a star, no matter where the fuck you are. If you kill everyone in the area you think there would be no one to phone it in but NOPE you just get more stars.

At 1 star they chase after you with guns and try to "Hold you up" and if you run too far they start shooting(I like them shooting when you run too far though) I wish they would respond to non lethal aggression with nightsticks and tazers.

The euphoria and the way you could swing the bat in 4 was really fucking awesome. I used to love running into and pushing people on the ground then pulling out the baseball bat and getting a free shot on their head as they rise from the ground. You can get alot of 1 hit knockouts in gta4 if you line everything up right.

The police don't need to be harder via perfect aim.

IDK there is definitely way more items, services, etc. in GTA5. But, everything in gta4 was just done so much better that it doesn't even matter
Another thing I really missed about the old gta4 fighting was being able to mix up your punches and shit. I used to like playing as Johnny because he was a little taller and his punches arc'd in these perfect hooks. So what I would do is circle around people and land these perfect hooks into their faces and get alot of 1 hit KO's. Or if I'm niko I liked to land quick jabs to the face and circle into position to land a good hard right cross on the jaw. In GTA5 there is no nuance to the fighting you just tap the punch button and he does different moves depending on the direction you are facing…It's such shit.

Thing that killed that game for me were the shit textures and washedout filters. It was even worse than in Deus Ex HR.

Graphics don't really kill a game for me they just piss me off. I just really hated how they pretty much took everything physics related and toned it down to retard levels. Even the goddamn running and walking in gta4 were better. Not to mention the weapon sound effects, weapon damage, bullet spread, etc. It's such garbage. It wasn't realistic, but it added more depth to the driving and allowed for a much bigger variety in car handling. In GTA V, most cars handle the same and are basically divided by size.

Which is what GTAV fucks up because everything is played out according to a "chase script". The police instantly know you did something wrong no matter how discreet you were; you can get a wanted level for firing a suppressed weapon in the desert. When you do get that wanted level, the game decides how long the pursuit is going to last. Until that timer runs out, the police will constantly and doggedly rubberband after you, even literally spawning on top of you to keep the pursuit going. Once the arbitrary time limit is hit, they fuck off and stop trying so that you can easily escape.

It's retarded, it's boring, and worst of all it prevents emergent gameplay because everything is always stricly on rails.

The car mechanics lend to the depth of gta4. Think about it user. In gta5 almost all the cars operate the same way. Contrast this to gta4 where different types of cars have different advantages and disadvantages. You need to have the right car for the job oftentimes. This led to you using different cars for different missions oftentimes, lending to variety and depth.

Sometimes it's the restrictions that add to a game more, rather than everything being great. Contrast new vegas skill and perks system compare to fallout 4. Its often about what you can't do that makes the game.

I just liked how enemies reacted to being shot. It adds weight to the bullets and feels like you make an effect. Like comparing skyrims swordplay to mount and blade. Theres a big difference because your weapons feel like they have an impact.

Cause theyre going fast user. You're not going to drive 200 miles an hour and turn perfectly. Its all about timing and premeditation. its an added layer of depth that adds to the satisfaction of properly anticipating how your car will react, how the pedestrians, enemies, cops, etc will too, and doing it perfectly at high speeds.

I'm with you, I've driven massive machinery on ice covered roads in the middle of blizzards with more traction than the vehicles GTA 4 had

GTA 4 the whole time feels like my tires are coated in fucking butter, the closest I would say GTA 4's driving comes to would be Planetside 's same shitty vehicle physics system where you slide 200 fucking meters sideways with even the slightest turn

Then I hop into GTA 5 and cars actually have SOME semblance of proper weight to them again and I can actually do shit like round corners etc even with a keyboard and mouse

Just wanted to show that the physics in GTA IV are actually not butter tires, but actually stick to the road quite well. The problem you're thinking of is inertia, as a lot of cars in IV exhibit more inertial forces on the car than in GTA V and so weight transfer plays a whole lot more in IV especially with every car having very soft suspensions.
