Will Gravity Rush 2 make video games great again?

I'm not sure if my dick can handle this.

You post this thread every day. If it's not shilling then I don't know what is.

The gravity rush remaster sold worse than the Vita game, it didn't even break the top 30. Even if you combine the number of people who bought the remaster and the number of people who played the vita version, has a PS4, but didn't buy the remaster, the POTENTIAL buyer base for a sequel is pitifully small. Actual sales numbers will be smaller than total unless 100% of the market buys.

There won't be a Gravity Rush 3. Sony keeps shooting themselves in the feet with bizarre business decisions.

I'm not going to try and convince you that I'm not a shill and not the same person who supposedly posts these threads "every day", because that would be impossible to prove either way, but I do think that this game can sell well. the first one was a legitimately good game that is aesthetically and thematically distinct from pretty much any other game on the PS4. The second one should at least attract some attention.

Also who is claiming that there will be a Gravity Rush 3? If the story is tied up well in 2 like the devs claim then there's no reason for a third to exist in the first place.

Is it still gonna be that faux french talk?
Im excited and also cant wait for the figma kat and raven

Why even live

Yup it's still that fake language. It's kind of weird, when I first started playing I hated it but it grew on me over time and now it's one of my favorite examples of gibberish-language done right.

It's shit, it has always been shit and you're a shill

Who are you quoting?

...

You need more than one game to make video games great again. Entire genres and subgenres have to be revitalized for that to happen. And even then, I'm sure Holla Forums will still find plenty to complain about.

I wouldn't say "every day" either, but there was a thread like three or four days ago. It fell off the catalog after less than 50 replies, I think. There's really not much to talk about.

He's not wrong, though.

What's with that retarded musical bit? Made me not want to play it.

Optimistically, it could pick up some new buyers if it gets the marketing push and better reviews/word of mouth than the original, which I think is likely. However, FFXV releasing immediately prior is certainly bad for its chances at success.

Trailer looks good. My one caveat is whether the additions to the combat will actually be worth using, or if the gravity kick will almost always be the most efficient approach like in the original. If the game makes worthwhile use of the new moves and fighting styles, then I'm in.

They should call the game
"Adventures of Playstation 2 character model in Xbox 360 graphics land"

I already made a thread about this, Also here's some footage of more gameplay

Considering how niche GR is, i don't think Japan studios expect their game to sell that much, i also heard that japanese games don't need to sell that much because they focus more on the game's content than the budget.

Still never forgiving them for making the game mysteriously disappear off the radar for a few years and magically re-emerge as a PissFour exclusive.
Fuck buying that console and fuck them for deliberately sinking their decent handheld.

It's a first party game, you abject retard.

Yeah basically. They way they threw the vita under the bus still hurts. Especially since most people that have played the first gravity rush game on the vita and would have liked to have the sequel to a game that left a lot of questions open on the same handheld.

Not every game has to be Crysis, the game looks fine for the art style it's using.

Get fucked moron

There was actual early footage of the sequel on Vita too before it vanished as far as I know.
They literally went "Move that to our home console so it has more games, no we've abandoned that handheld now because we are idiots, tough." Cunts.

Well it certainly doesn't have gameplay going for it. You just play it for the girl don't you?

Woah another gay.

Learn reading comprehension

I haven't even played Gravity Rush before, nice try.

No Vita no buy

No body buy no vita
;^)

Face it user, the Vita's dead. There's no reason to market it in the west at all. At least it isn't dead in the east though.

It's just sad that GR2 is getting released during the holiday season along with a bunch of bigger games, it'll probably get buried along with most of Project Siren's work.

And games like TLG have a higher chance of being bad in terms of quality.

I honestly didn't know it would come out this December, I stopped paying attention to it.

Shame, GR2 will definitely get overshadowed by it.

I don't give a fuck if it had PSX graphics. GR for the Vita was fun and comfy as fuck, so I'll get GR2 provided they don't fuck it up completely for "muh wider audience".

This.

Gravity Rush 2 having a limited appeal is a good thing because it's not abotut making a game for everyone but rather the right group of people.

Making a game for everyone means pandering to casuals who eat up anything as long as it's basic and follows a huge trend.

When a game has limited appeal, it has a better chance at being creative and/or having better quality.

This doesn't just applies to niche titles, even popular games from older generations are like this.

Desperately want to bring her whimpering into womanhood

I hope this doesn't cucked by bad localisation.
In b4 8-4 announces they're doing it

You should know better by now.

NO MARIE NO BUY

Why do you feel the need to shit up every thread?

LOOKS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING INCREDIBLE

I LOVE KAT AND GRAVITY RUSH WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!!

Both are so absolutely perfectly charming. I was already hype, but this trailer blew me out of the water.

This is some Todd-tier shilling. Why is it allowed?

8-4 did remastered, so it's looking that way.

All that matters is good gameplay and gravity rush has none.

Did you know there's a weekly thread for people like you? It doesn't belong here and neither do you, but as long as the moderation do it for free team allows it it's here nonetheless.

Fucking insufferable faggots. Had no idea i was on halfchan Holla Forums.

And I though liking generic casual trash was halfchan's thing.

>generic
Non-applicable buzzword spouting dunce. Christ you must be a literal fucking retard.

You sure showed me.

Please don't let this be true.

IIRC the remaster's translation was fine. While it's not a good sign, I still have some hope for a good translation.

...

Max wew. It's a shame because I like gravity mechanics in my vidya. It's funny to see the waifu fags triggered though.

I once wondered if Sony would ever sell one of their IP's or something, meaning something could be tried without requiring a PS4.

Hey look i found a new character for the game

I aslo think that exclusives shouldn't be a problem if a platform has an appropriate number of games that are actually good, which is why the 6th was the last gen to do this right.

PS4 so fat only has BB while th PS2 had games in multiple genres like platformers and RPG's, so the sales are obviously more to do with multiplats.

Gravity Rush is so incredibly charming. There's no better word for this series than that, charming. CHARMING, CHARMING! It has a lot of abstract qualities to it that are so characteristic of an in-house Sony dev team, the kind of traits that are very reminiscent of golden era PS2 Sony titles like ICO.

It's really humorously written as well with great absurdity and dry humor. And Kat is just a perfect doll. Endearing and lovable in a myriad of ways, and it seems clear that the devs and writers absolutely adore Kat themselves, as they should, she's great. They really knocked it out of the park with Kat.

Most PS4 players are either resigned to having shit graphics compared to the PC, or are too busy already playing PS2 games on the PC with their DS4 just to get their hands on some "Sony Exclusives" that are worth playing.

I don't even get this shit in the first place. Gravity Rush looks fine. It has a good aesthetic going.

...

Fuck I hate mainstream videogame culture. Daily reminder Fallout 4 sold 12 million in the first week.

If you want graphics play Western triple A shit.

Heard people say GTA5 looks nice? I've never been.

Sales shouldn't mean quality when the majority of costumes don't even know why they like games or what game design is.

Sales shouldn't mean quality period. Okami sold like complete shit but it's a phenomenal game while almost every COD game has been a financial success.

Dang it user. I was doing so good. I didn't watch a single video of gameplay. I was gonna wait until Christmas. Now thanks to you I'm going to get it earlier.
That's just so sweet, it's hurting my heart. I'm gonna go download that song now.

sales don't mean quality, they mean success. if the game isn't a success, it's a failure. if it's a failure, no sequels will be made - no matter how good it was, no matter how much the fans liked it, no matter how hard they begged for one. success is what makes or breaks a franchise. or a studio.

I heard the director of Gravity Rush doesn't really care for sales, not only that but this game is supposed to be the last right after the first, meaning this was meant to be a 2 games series.

I've never played GR, and I'm not seeing what's so interesting about this series in terms of gameplay, but I sure wish there was more R34 of these characters.

I think there's a thread of porn of it in /vp/, but besides the waifu's GR is one of those games that tries to be artistic by coming with a concept about a bizarre world and gameplay.

The game takes place on a floating city which appears to be connected to this giant pillar in which the higher you get there, time runs faster and then there's a fictional languange and purple/red glowy monsters and a bunch of other fucked up shit.

Also the sountrack is amazing.

But if you want more porn, try to find an artist who draws requests for free unless you want to give money for commissions and shit.

ITT: Sonyfag continues to attempt to justify his purchase of a PS4 insisting that games actually come out for the system.

Ape Escape 4 never

Not really. I mean, it doesn't look bad, and admittedly there's a lot of attention paid to fine details and minutia of the world - but it's really not that graphically intensive. I got a copy out of a bargain bin at Wal-Mart for like $6. Not sure if it was a pricing mistake, or just couldn't sell because if Wal-Mart's usual clientele was smart enough to use a PC - they probably wouldn't be shopping at Wal-Mart to begin with. If nothing else, I figured I could mod the fuck out of it.

My rig is a low-end mid-range, and I can run it pretty well at max settings. Looks way better on the PC than it does on consoles, but still not "great" looking overall. Again, it's more impressive in that they spent the time and money to model and texture the fine details (like the radio station displaying properly on car stereos during interior view), and a wide variety of assets to build a fairly convincing world. Makes Todd's lies about ES/FO all the more hilariously pathetic. Shame they had to use up all of their budget on that instead of licensing a better soundtrack or hiring better writers.

My fellow patrician of good taste

I don't see the problem besides the contrarians and ass flustered babies in the thread.

B-but muh no games!

Yeah I certainly hope not.

Fallout 4 and Call of Duty whatnumberareweat outsold basically every classic game.

Considering the state of the industry if your game is a mainstream hit it's likely shit.

Target the niche and build a loyal customer base. Studios like Gust, Falcom and Atlas have been making videogames for decades making a small but stable profit.

Still need to get the 1st

It suffers from some framerate issues (while running on a capped 30fps) and some noticable pop-in (shadows and population). Having revisited the first one just last week, the game basically had the same problems but being a Vita port had it's smooth 60fps advantages.

That said, shit's still fun as fuck:

All I need to know is how much content the game will have and I'm sold.

Doubt it

Well they have the whole Hekesville overworld and an even larger overworld of some other town. Then as this trailer showed there's also the city where shifters come from. So that's at least 3 full-sized world maps if I'm not forgetting anything.

I haven't watched the trailers because I want to go in as blind as possible. While that large a space sounds neat, it's the actual missions we'll get that I'm concerned about.

As much as I love the first game, it has a dearth of content. A hand full of races, some battle challenges, the main missions (which were largely a combination of the two) and picking up crystals (which was the most enjoyable time collecting things since Crackdown for me). I found Hekseville to be a beautifully designed town, but it was heavily underused. I'm fearing that it will be the same this time.

The movement in GR is fucking fantastic as is, I just want some more objectives to go with it.

Vita piracy is a thing now right? Is the first game worth setting all that shit up?

Definitely, the game feels like it was ripped right from the 6th console generation. Simple, charming and a lot of fun to just fuck around with for a while.

Movement feels great, combat is severly lacking and (typical for a Vita game) it runs kinda shitty, which looks especially bad on a PS TV.

I can't argue with those digits.

Kat appreciates thy doubles

Do Sony want all of their exclusives to fail? I swear they've done this with every one except Bloodborne.

If you're not paying for it yeah. Just don't set your expectations too high.

Nah, they're just giving all the attention to casual shit like Horizon: Zero Dawn and that Last of Us knock off but with bikers. They don't give a shit about the games that are actually good on the PS4. Just the ones that are most popular. Like No Man's Sky.
It's pretty sad. They should put more of an emphasis on Gravity Rush. It's pretty unique, unlike everything they're pushing.

It's because they feel like they don't need to, they would rather advertise something like The Last Guardian because that had boatloads of hype and do just enough so that people interested in this game know it exists. Even though some developers from this studio made some Silent Hill games they still never got a whole lot of attention as of late even when they branch out.

Sony kills anything that looks good for the sake of casual attention.

Even when their fans claim to care about everything related to PlayStaiton, they don't even know who Parappa the Rapper is, which is why Sony gets a pass for something like this while Nintendo and Capcom are getting called out for keeping IP's hostages or ruining them.
