Hey guys, >>>/1cc/ here, just thought I'd let you know today (if you have any interest in arcade or racing games) that Dead Heat Arcade and Tank Tank Tank has been dumped and is playable in Ubuntu Linux!

Don't know what your policy is about shilling other boards here, but there's lots of other stuff cool stuff there too, I hope you drop by and give us a visit some time!

Do you guys have any details as to why Supermodel died?

Supermodel isn't dead? It's been getting regular updates this year like crazy

Shit, user - that's pretty badass.
But wait… Dead Heat runs on a linux type arcade board? Interesting…

My local arcade has both car Dead Heat and Riders. Wish I could rip the soundtrack out of the latter…

Yup! Namco ES1. This and Tank Tank Tank ran on the same type of hardware. Thankfully unlike other Linux based arcade games this one doesn't require a very specific kernel and will run on modern systems.

Neat. I have an old 32-bit desktop with an nvidia card that worked well on Linux, but right now it's dead… I gotta get that running and try it out.
My linux laptop has intel graphics so it'll probably glitch the fuck out.

Holy shit OP can you read my fucking mind?

I was literally just at an arcade last month playing Dead Heat and was looking for a way to run it at home on my PC. I know it used common PC hardware that ran on Arch Linux

I just wish there was a way to play it on Windows since my main gaming PC uses Windows and thats the PC with my best hardware

If it does end up working on Intel/AMD graphics let us know! And even if it doesn't let us know anyways :^)

I actually have no idea if Nvidia cards are an absolute must, it's just a safe bet since the arcade hardware used them.

In the future, if Microsoft continues providing Ubuntu compatibility in Windows 10 it MAY be possible to run it there, but as of now there's just no way to do it on Windows. The good news is that Ubuntu is very easy to set up on a separate drive if you wanna play just this game!

I have a laptop with Ubuntu but its a shitty AMD E1 series. My main Windows machine is a Skylake i7 with a GTX 900 series GPU

I think it may be possible with Cygwin perhaps? I just don't want to bother with dualbooting, but I love running arcade games on my PC. Screenshot related
