Hitler bump

So, what mod or GS have huge game period in modern times? From Great War to Current Year?

New World Order

Found your inner peace yet /gsg/?

>The greatest achievement is selflessness: help and love those who want to attain Nirvana; aid them in their quest for inner peace through the removal of kebab and steppeniggers and the chinks, I want Gansu.

-King Lozang Gyasto I Chespong: The guy who's so retarded he's gonna make my game trigger the Dalai Lama Theocracy event.

Nice.
And what about that game, Superpowers 2? Worth a try?

help

No.

And what the fuck with the registration on Paradox forum? Why do they need my data about my location?

How do you get the Dalai Lama event to trigger?

Waiting for a randomizer mod that will make the Innovations spawn anywhere on the map so a truly chaotic experience can play out.

So they can add you to their magnum opus, Real Lives 2017.

Reminder of the biggest Absolute Madman event in history.

During that time Petersburg was capital city. So only one time Russia lost it's capital in 1610 and regained it during anti-polish uprising in 1612. To this day Russians are mad about it.

It may have not been the capital, but it was stilol one of their biggest fucking cities. Napoleon was like
then he arrived and could only say

Anyone got a torrent for CK2 with Reaper's Due?

Check the pastebin

Downloading that shit in 235246 parts is gay though.

Thats fair. Its a pain in the ass getting torrents for just one dlc tho. Maybe Project Torrent has one?

why am I getting a boner from this

skidrowreloaded.com/crusader-kings-ii-the-reapers-due-proper-skidrow/

I can't find one for Mare Nostrum

thx mate

...

Don't play The Reaper's Due unpatched - it's horrendously buggy. They released a hotfix (2.6.1.1) which fixes most of the issues, so see if you can find that. 2.6.2 is apparently going to be released soon as well.

What a fucking surprise.

It´s in the same link, moron.

Does anyone have a link to the latest version of the CK2+ mod?

Jesus Christ.

The Dalai Lama event (inviting him to your realm) you get it from being a Buddhist, but for him to take over and turn your country a Theocracy you gotta have a retarded ruler with less than 2 on any stat. MTTH is about 200 months or something and before the 1640's, so pray your retarded monarch doesn't die. Of course you have to form Tibet first, but that's kinda easy; just act fast enough before Ming tries to get your clay and ally the Burmese or any other Buddhist SEA nation, or non-kebab curryniggers, because fuck kebab.

This is the first time I've tried Tibet, so I don't really know if it's gonna trigger or not.

Yep, it works. Went with the most sensible choice for heir: A Theologian. Picking a preacher makes you lose 5 prestige and get 10 devotion.

Anyone else just quit the game once they are in a position where they are going to win? I didn't used to be like this.

So when you start the game?

Alright, continuing on from my 1944 HoI3 Germany game the other day.

The landing in Britain is a success, we utterly demolish the British forces and occupy the Island, although taking the outer lying islands will be a pain considering the small size of our navy.

I've got a question for you guys: Since Armenia has always had a 'special' kind of christian church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, in EU4 should they be considered Coptic or Orthodox? Their doctrines are more or less Miaphysite, but that branch of Christianity (as it is named) ain't in-game and they are supposedly similar enough to be considered 'Coptic' by paracucks, but I'm not very clear about the differences between Copts, Apostolic Armenians and Miaphysites (or if they are even the same) to have a concise opinion. I think Miaphytisism encompasses both Coptic Christianity and Apostolic Armenians.

I know in the CK2+ mod Armenia was Apostolic (changed from Miaphysite), but is that even a valid term to describe their own branch of Christianity? I suppose they did so in order to differentiate them from Copts since their faith evolved in a different way from the guys down in Nubia and Ethiopia.

My autism requires this to be fixed. Should they be Apostolic, Coptic or plain old Orthodox?

Nice.

Apostolic, if there's the flavour necessary to make it fun. Otherwise, coptic

With Britain falling, I move all my tanks back to the soviet front and begin the first of a long series of encirclements.

watch out - you'll soon reach the end date

The encirclement not just succeeds, but turns out better than I planned, I took the opportunity to take a smaller one around some retreating units as well, overall 500k soviet troops were in this encirclement, mostly infantry sadly, but you take what you can get.

Overseas, Japan has utterly lost the Burmese front, their troops encircled and destroyed.

I moved the end date so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

lost to whom? Brits still have stacks in india?

also, show italy

fucking japs

Well, that explains why they aren't sending reinforcements.

I have forgotten to take screenshots of Italy, but here's an encirclement and my battle plan. It went off without a hitch and I occupied the entire peninsula before going against Britain.
The Americans did do a counter landing later that was rather successful, retaking two ports and establishing a solid basis for an attack, but they didn't.

I make a rookie mistake, letting the soviets push me out of a Hungarian VP, causing them to surrender.

This is unfortunately timed with soviet spies dropping Croatia's NU to make them surrender a month earlier, meaning we face an offensive across the whole Balkan front.
It delays our next offensive against the soviets by a week.

The Kriegsmarine duels with the US Navy, we lose a pair of submarines and they lose a WW1 Battleship and 4 carriers and a variety of escorts and transports, our fleet will go on to sink the Missouri, an Iowa class Battleship and several other carriers and WW1 Battleships.
Unfortunately in the later fighting all our pre-war cruisers will be sunk with the Scharnhorst going down with them.

Unfortunately I didn't take multiple screenshots of this offensive, but I've made an outline of the battle plans, I begin with a small offensive in the north, cleaning up the mess from the last offensive while securing Danzig, inside this pocket were 300k soviet troops, entirely infantry sadly.

I follow up, with a massive planned attack to secure the Vistula, attacking from both sides of my front in an attempt to encircle the troops in the centre. What I did not anticipate was the Polish People's Republic surrendering with the fall of Warsaw, leave us with the entire Polish territory and over 700k soviet units stuck inside.

At this point the soviets have lost almost 2 million men to encirclements, leaving them with an army of close to 3 million men compared to my 2 million.

What a good goy this Tom Hobson. I bet the kike elite loved him.

It always ends up as "Painting the Map.exe" after a few hundred years of play, unless you roleplay.

it seems like you're about to make a breakthrough. Try catching all the soviets in Poland, and encircle Prussia. They should soon be forced to stretch their forces and make a weaer line overall.

Pacifists please leave

Stalin bump

I know how Hitler felt when he invaded Poland now.

O BOY HERE WE GO WITH THE JEWING

In EU4 Copts will (in 1.18) have this mechanic of 'holy sites' grant you some nice bonuses, I suppose something like that could be done for Apostolics once the patch is out (and if the patch isn't utter shit), I guess the Armenian 'holy sites' could be the usual 'Alexandria and Jerusalem' also with Yerevan/Armenia and Cilicia (No idea what the kebab name is, it's the province above Antioch, it used to be the seat of an Armenian kingdom back in the days when kebab had started to invade Anatolia and the Caucasus).

forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/eu4-development-diary-4th-of-august-2016.961146/

This is what paracucks is planning to do, sounds good to me but the Armenian one seems out of place; I don't think Armenians had ever been in communion with Ethiopians and Egyptians to begin with.

As for now, what I had been planning to do with the Apostolic branch of Christianity was to add similar mechanics to Orthodoxy, give them that nice patriarch authority slider (to symbolize the Catholicos of all Armenia) and give them the following:

I thought about adding something like yearly prestige (because the Armenian church is one of the oldest branches of Christianity in the world), but that'd be sorta OP. Other than that, I was thinking about some military bonuses (like with Copts, they have 10% defensiveness), but I'm unsure about it. What do you guys think?

Hearts of Iron 4 is the best game ever made.

...

It's ok user, you're entitled to that opinion. But please know I wholeheartedly think urafaget

I think one can bullshit his way into claiming they're coptic. As such, what you should ask yourself is "If I make them separate, can I provide enough mechanics and flavour to make them truly distinct?" If the answer is "no" then make them coptic, and spend your efforts on copts. If the answer is "yes" then go ahead.

Almost all religions have a strong sense of independence, as do almost all cultures. This is nonsense.

Jews spread all over Europe and didn't convert shit

This one, on the other hand, sounds plausible. Given they were a rather small faith in comparison with Islam or Orthodox christianity, and were picked on by kebab and others all the time, it makes sense they'd value someone of 'their own' more and be more benevolent to their mistakes

That makes no sense. Again, look at jews. They have a really fucking old religion, and nobody gives a shit.

=New Stellaris DLC
name: Leviathan Story Pack
contents:
-fortified systems of 'guardians' that protect some old treasure
-independent outposts of traders and mercenaries that you can hire
-war in heaven mechanic
-flavour in general

Sounds okay, I guess.

What is going wrong here exactly, why is Prussia/Germany so strong compared to real life?

I think the root of the issue here is that Victoria 2 is a video game

As for mechanics and flavor, I thought about adding the patriarch authority to differentiate them from Copts (since they don't have shit) and the generic 'misguided heretic' tag non-catholic Christians have (-5 or so malus to relationship, better than the -20 for different religion). Aside from that, I have no idea what else could be added, EU4 doesn't have many religion mechanics to begin with other than the special sliders from Orthodoxy (patriarch authority), Buddhists (karma) and Islam (piety). For a bit more flavor, the Apostolic heretics (you know, those stupid rebels that might rarely spawn every now and again) could be Tondrakians (Armenian heretics who hated feudalism, basically proto-commies) and Paulicians (A christian sect thought to be originated in Armenia, it was something akin to Iconoclasm mixed with Manichaeism)

And as for the bonuses, I thought about the hostile core creation because the Armenian faith remained somewhat 'pure' and true to its origins for like ~1.5k years give or take a few. The missionary one I admit sort of bullshitting on that, it's a diaspora yes, so it could technically be plausible for them to have a random guy shilling Apostolic Christianity here and there on newly-conquered provinces, but it still sounds like bullshit nonetheless. And the yearly prestige is a dumb bonus I thought could be nice, but you are right after all; your faith may be the oldest in the world, but nobody gives a flying fuck about it. Look at Basques and their language, it retains elements predating the spread of proto indo-european, but nobody gives a shit about that except Basques themselves.

Apart from the +2 tolerance, what else do you think could be added? Something more generic like a military bonus (a-la Coptic with +10% defensiveness)? Since Armenians and their faith are supposed to be somewhat isolated (partly by choice and partly by geography), would an enemy attrition malus fit in the character? Or perhaps something like a boost to morale or discipline, their old faith gives them pride, thus giving a morale boost.

Pretty much what said. Paradox had to nerf France 4-5 times before Germany could beat it consistently in HOI3… their games do not reflect reality that well.

Beside it being a game, it's because you're applying the unmodified Schlieffen plan, in its spirit if not the exact formula. Rapidly kick France's shit in to close that front while fighting a delaying action against Russia, then finish the shitslog war in the East with the whole of one's forces if a peace cannot be immediately negotiated. To my hazy understanding, Helmuths' modification of the plan to station more forces in the East is largely regarded as the reason Germany got caught on two fronts as badly as it did.

That's just vicky having shit combat.

How about making them harder to convert?

I don't know why, but igg are being cunts and don't want to add even in the request list Alea Jacta Est. Please spam them a little.

igg-games.com/game-request.html

It could be, that's a good idea since neither kebab nor Byzantium could fully convert them.

So far, Apostolics have:

How about:

#That's -5% missionary strength on Apostolic provinces, you're gonna have to work hard to convert them. Still fairly easy to convert, should this be boosted for other religions as well? Copts, kebab and Shinto have a -2%, and Orthodox and Sikh get a -1%, and you can easily convert kebab shit without taking religious ideas.

#Muh first christian kingdom in the world. Comes with a boost of 10% morale and 2.5% discipline for armies (should discipline be higher?)

#More flavor, gotta keep our people together.

Pic related is the icon I'm going to use for Apostolic Christians once I learn how to make custom icons.

And the flavor text will be:

If dubs I start that HOI3 game I have been putting off.
if not I play rocket league

I don't think you should add military bonuses to a religion that doesn't urge its followers to wage war. These bonuses should go to the armenian idea group, but not to the religion itself

Also, don't make them too OP. I remember shitting bricks of fury in EU3 every time I played orthodox and saw that literally every other hristian religion (especially the protestants and reformists) got significantly better bonuses

Is that ME3? When is the reaper pack coming? What about the retarded child controlling them pack?

How about something more defensive instead?

Copts get 10 defensiveness, Apostolics could get +1 attrition for enemies since people from other religions (or other denominations of Christianity) are seen as foreign and backwards, thus Armenians never help them in their lands. It does make sense when combined with the -5% local missionary strength; hardened, resilient people not very fond of change and foreign rulers.

Also, now that national ideas have been mentioned, what Armenia gets feels kind of lacking.

eu4wiki.com/Armenia

How about changing these:

I'm planning something else down below for the recover army morale speed. So, it could be +10~15% manpower recovery speed (the reasoning behind could be Armenians having to constantly defend their lands from the many hostile foreigners all around them) and either -15~20% cost for reducing war exhaustion (-10% is just weak and again, same reasoning, defending their homeland from hostile invaders) OR +1 attrition for enemies (mountains, hostile terrain and such, could be a bit OP when coupled with the religion bonus though) OR 20% defensiveness/10% garrison size (Armenian counties were heavily fortified)

To sum it up: 10~15% manpower recovery speed and -15% cost for war exhaustion OR +15% defensiveness and +15% garrison size (I believe garrison also affects non-fortified provinces) OR -10~15% fort maintenance and +15% garrison size OR +1 attrition for enemies (already a religious bonus so it'd end up being +2) and +10% manpower recovery speed

'Meh' at best. 5~10% morale and 3% missionary strength (used to be just 2% missionary strength.) The morale boost could serve as the 'muh oldest church' I've been thinking about.

perhaps a -10% build cost along with a -5~10% development cost? -10% build, -5% development OR -5% build, -10% development seems fine enough.

Maybe switching it for a +1 diplomat or +1 diplomatic relationship could be better. It does make sense after all, since they had to appease and make quick alliances with the states around them. I'm more inclined to +1 diplomat.

Maybe boosting it to 12.5% or even 15%. I'm more inclined to 12.5% as 10% seems weak to me and 15% is stretching it too far.

This isn't so bad, when you recruit a regiment, its monthly maintenance gets reduced when you have this modifier, so it ends up being cheaper than forming your army one by one. I'd say up it to -15% regiment cost and either +5% recovery of army morale and/or +10% reinforce speed. Sygnakhs were supposed to be some sort of system Armenians had for recruiting and rallying large groups of soldiers, I suppose it makes sense to have decreased maintenance for regiments (original) along with increased reinforce speed and a bit more of morale recovery would help. I'm not so sure about the morale recovery, as it could be easily switched for a small discipline bonus. I think something like -15% regiment cost, +10% reinforce speed and +5% army morale recovery could work without being stupidly OP like the kebab and their +500% discipline janissaries or Prussia roflstomping the shit outta everything, remember, this is Armenia we're speaking about, they never really gave up on their country since the antiquity era, that's 2k+ years we're talking about.

I'd say make it either 50% or 75%, sounds better than having it as a religious bonus for the Apostolic faith.

Kind of 'meh' considering I was looking to add it as a religious bonus, could be switched for perhaps a 20% defensiveness (if I'm not using this for the traditions) or +10~15% cavalry combat (remember the ancient Armenian Cataphracts? Well they ain't no longer around, but those fine-bred horses are still here, thirsting for kebab blood. Romans said it themselves, Armenians breed some fine horses and mounted warriors despite being mountain-dwelling people). +10% infantry combat ability could be another bonus, Armenians were pretty popular soldiers to use in the Byzantine empire, Persians and our oh so beloved cockroaches.

I seek to make Armenians into a 'defensive' country of sorts, they're not supposed to grow too big or powerful (I usually just take the Caucasus and Azerbaijan, Crimea [just Crimea, not the whole area around it] and extend a bit till reaching Antioch/Aleppo, but never further down south)

Any constructive criticisms? To me they seem like the guys who can take quite a beating and still put up a good fight even if they end up losing, not being the best but neither being the worst. In a way, kinda like Serbs and Poles. Definitively not a very trade-oriented or offensive military-oriented nation.

I build a long series of encirclements to destroy the front lines of the soviet armed forces, after this I will push for Moscow.

The Prussian encirclement is the key to the start of the offensive.
Overall it's designed to work in series, so that we will take almost our entire motorised, armoured and mechanised forces at each encirclement for maximum casualties even if the results will be far slower to achieve.

Can you do literally ANYTHING as Kyoto?

The encirclement around Prussia goes swimmingly, but soviet forces are too think around the southern end of the encirclement, forcing me to adapt and only encircle Prussia itself.

I end up pocketing and killing over 400k men, with a pair of tank divisions and some mechanised.

Good shit fam, kill all those commie fucks.

The encirclement goes well and we begin our next offensive, meanwhile in Manchura Japan is getting wrecked.

You can be the shogun's bitch.

What's a fun country to play in Vic 2? I tried communist USA but managing a fuckton of factories got boring real fast. Also is there a mod that gets rid of rebels? I'm tired of their shit.

The rest of the encirclements were so successful I got lazy and put the AI on, I forgot to pause it after I tabbed and here's how far the men have gotten.

Also bonus picture of China falling to the allies.

The hell does the Eastern Front look like now in terms of unit composition? If things have dragged on to 48, then there's probably early MBTs slugging it out and German flying wing fighers are fighting MiGs. Or has the nature of such a shitshow of a total war left you both using outdated shit from 44 even now?

I tried to port a game to Vicky2 that was ported from EU4, which was ported from CK2, but it always crashes at initiating history when I pick a country. Any fixes for this?

Also, my navy has been entirely modernized. Submarines have been neglected in favour of a surface fleet. I've a pair of somewhat outdated carriers to cover them, but I have two H-44 class battleships and 2 of what I've dubbed P-class battlecruisers named after the two lost earlier in the war.
They join only the Tirpitz as capital ships in our navy.
I also have a dozen new heavy and light cruiers, with hundreds of destroyer escort ships for the new fleet.

Sadly, soon after deployment the second Scharnhorst is lost in intense fighting in the fourth battle of Jutland.

By and large my armed forces are very advanced, there was a long period until late '46 where my army was still running on 42/44 level technologies but Britain's surrender opened up a very large supply of IC and also cleared the waves, I was able to trade for rares to keep my IC running efficiently.

Because of this, my armed forces rapidly updated.
The German air force is almost entirely jet based, at those point most likely a design after the Messerschmitt Me 262 for the fighters, no idea for the bombers, the air force is almost entirely fighters for destroying other air forces, and then a small group of tactical bombers for just laying waste to a small area for a breakthrough.
My armoured units are likely successor to the Panthers with some upgrades, most likely some variant of the E-50 designs. They're almost entirely MBTs, there are around 5 heavy tank brigades for securing breaches and cities in the whole army and I do not believe I have any light tank brigades left.

I do not believe the soviets are in the same situation upgrade wise, most probably still running '45/'44 level tech but I think the allies are up to date, I've seen the US put forward several ahistorical Iowa class BBs for instance.

In terms of my actual army lay out, I've an army group North and South
North is 1.25 million infantry with some rocket artillery and anti tank attachments. South is about 750k men with fewer upgrades, and also the remnants of the Hungarian, Croatian, Bulgarian and Romanian armies.
I've got a separate army group that is entirely armoured, mechanised and motorised that shift around the front for encirclements, it's around 250k men. Or at least they used to, now the AI is just going nuts.

One of your history files is fucked, unless you know what to look for or how to mod you'll never fix it, sorry.

No exact model names, huh? Does HoI3 not have info like that available by default? I could've sworn there was. Maybe it was buried in the research menus or something.

Where in the fuck are you getting the steel? Where are you even building it when they can't fit on a slipway? How isn't the US carrier group in the neighborhood putting a grand slam right on top of it, jets or no? Fucking latewar Speer magic bullshit making total bullshit projects work. Why super battleships, anyways? I thought they were not quite so efficient compared to ordinary fast battleships. Do you have enough air cover from airbase Europe and the two carriers that the US can't stage torpedo bomber attacks, and it just rolls around blowing up anything both reasonably slower and less obscenely gunned & armored than it from both comparative outdatedness & less ridiculous scale, which it can somehow catch? Because fast super battleships sound goddamn silly.

'It's a game' is echoing in the back of my head, but how aren't or rather how weren't the Soviets exploiting that sheer concentration of force by going anywhere it isn't, and/or staging multiple breakthroughs to throw the lines into chaos before you had the chance to stage multiple mega-encirclements to send their defeated armies off to who knows where?

It doesn't have info past 44 really, I think the game has a few 45/6 level tech names for the USA/USSR but that's about all I recall.

The game actually starts Germany with a positive gain in steel with no resources required for building ships and there's no slipway mechanics, but I would assume we just cut the existing ones larger, the ships took almost 3 years to build so it isn't too crazy a time period.
The US isn't able to fuck my because they operate out of Norway and Iceland in the region, where I regularly fuck them up, see I also have cover from my jet bombers, so the minute I spot an American fleet I can bomb them to bits if they're anywhere near Europe.
I built SBBs because they don't get better with tech in vanilla, only AA techs really upgrade them. So when I started building ships, they were the best thing to build since I only needed one tech instead of 4 techs in in parallel three times to catch up.

Strategy wise, my navy is just a fleet-in-being, I ride it out just to defend the coastlines and keep the Baltic safe for shipping so it only really attacks navies that are already trying to find me and I have very substantial air forces to cover them from land, the destroyers are really doing most of the damage, the BBs are just there to keep them from being obliterated by other BBs.

And yeah, I was very disappointed with the game AI.
I pulled back to a very strong defensive line and built up fortresses to protect it but I still expected the soviets to throw men at me, but they reaches my line and largely stopped, only putting a few probing attacks around Croatia every month for 3 years. That really was all they did, I know the AI isn't meant to attack a max entrenchment unit behind a river with fortresses but they didn't try to do anything.

Why does the game consider this a defeat when I took no casualties whatsoever?

aren't you going to liberate your allies?

Kudos to the user who told me to make nukes last thread.
It's about to happen

Not until the war is over, supplying troops through and past allied provinces is a pain, plus I can now use their resources and manpower.

Because your side retreated.

Because you're a filthy fucking nazi, you racist xenophobic shitlord!

That was me. I'm actually surprised the US didn't start a nuclear holocaust by now

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're referring to as Nazism, is in fact, National Socialism, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Nationalism plus Socialism. Nazism is not an belief system unto itself, but rather another kike slur made meaningless by facts, reason and evidence comprising a full counterargument.

It's over, a pair of nukes convinces the Russians it is time to give up.

Thank you, holy shit the drop in NU just made them disappear.

Seems like the tables have turned. What's your plan on attacking allies?

I have no idea.

Spend a few years building more ships?

just drop some nukes on UK, then do a quick invasion of US, take a victory point, and spam more nukes

I invaded the UK back in '46, that was my first real move after securing Italy.

Yeah but they didN't surrender in the colonies yet, did they?

Alright, reconstructing the Balkans, rate these borders.
Also, do I annex Trieste and Istria into the Reich proper?

Gimme some advice.

Oh shit you're right, they haven't surrendered.
Time to nuke shitskins in India I guess.

I rate 0/1992

The other options is I release a Montenegro/Serbia Yugoslavia instead of splitting it between Bulgaria and Croatia.

...

better give them independence before they get around to taking it

Hmm, you're right.
3 seas Bulgaria it is.

They can be Serbia/Montenegro then.

Alright, what do I need to change?

Your empire is going to crumble, without your divine right to rule.

Dude you fucked up, yugo should be croatia+bosnia+mountain nigger+slovenia+macedonija and albania for shits and giggles, not a chunk of serbia, montenegro and macedonia.

And what the fuck is with that bulgaria? It's too damn big, it should be just a small chunk of northern thrace and that's it.

Also, istria is rightful yugo clay.

Annex Istria and carniola, and give rhodos to Italy. In fact, you should've given Albania to Italy too - Mussolini's been by your side from the beginning, and deserves a reward

Muso doesn't deserve fucking shit, he should be happy we haven't killed the fat fuck for being totally unable to defend his own land.
Also Istria and Carinola are under my control, but I'd rather give Rhodes to Greece at this point.

Making a yuge yugo nation when Croatia has faught as an independent nation by my side is silly, I'd rather keep the southern slavs as divided as possible to fight among themselves.
Bulgaria gets Albania because they contributed more divisions to the defence of Germany than anyone else, with over 50 thousand men fighting on in Germany after their government surrendered.
They got all the Greek clay to match the Bulgarian exarchate.

You haven't removed kebab from Tsargrad, but I guess Germany is too busy killing Christians as is their national tradition.

Having independent Yugo doesn't make much sense - it was a federation of croats, serbs, and slovenes. In your game, it's a fedearation of… serbs alone. Can't you release Serbia instead?

...

WHY IS THIS SO SHITTY
1.1 COLONIST A YEAR
5 POPULATION GROWTH A MONTH
1 COLONIST IS ONLY 100 GUYS
50 YEARS AND I'VE ONLY COLONIZED 6 PROVINCES
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Are you complaining that shitty countries are shitty?

If you want to colonise faster, just send each colonist to a different province. You'll then soon have several colonies that each grow by 5 per month. Of course, you need to have a solid economy to handle the costs

I don't think he can, that's why he released a small Yugo instead. Vanilla Hearts of Iron III has this wonderful problem where there essentially aren't any releasable nations in multi-state nations except for the ones that were historically broken off, IE Croatia. But as Serbia remained a German occupation zone for the war, and because Paradox doesn't care about modeling any great number of alternate history decisions, there's no Kaiserreich-style chains as to how to untangle the Balkans or even short chains that dictate how to break it up with no great aftereffects, only the historical route of overhumoring the Croatians by letting them have the Slovenes & Bosnians and leaving troops killing partisans in the rest of former Yugo, and maybe puppeting the lot. The latter'd be the only way to not fuck up the borders in some way or another since you can't properly break it up into its constituent primary-ethnicity statelets, but how useful Yugo is compared to a released Croatia I don't know, not sure if they get bonuses. You get the same problem with Ukraine and Belarus not existing unmodded. His start came with Croats anyways, so nothing to do there.

As for feeding lots of Greece to the Bulgars, yes, it's not ideal, but he pulled through from a '44 start to finally acquire that sweet, sweet Endsieg, and now Hitler is no longer interested let alone concerned about fine brushwork in his map painting, embittered as he is. As he said, the Bulgars fight like lions, so they get positively ancient borders giving them governorship over non-Bulgars. If you want Hitler to keep his head on totally straight and partition Europe in a more ideal fashion, start from '36 or '39 and unfuck the war from the industrial and strategic level to make it tenable.

It's 1.6 ducats per colony per month.
It would take 15 years to wait out one colony at a cost of 300 ducats.
I get what you're saying though, it's just unjustifiable for me to spend that much. I already tried once and ended up going into debt.

But holy shit why is it so shitty. When I played Netherlands it was 17 population growth a month. And each extra colonist sent to a colony increased the population by 200, not this shitty 100.
I was innovative as Netherlands and am full narrowminded as Malaya; narrowminded is supposed to give a good boost. Also, only Reformed gives a boost to colonial growth, and when I was Netherlands I was Catholic.

The system is there to prevent colonial blobbing, yet allow strong nations to be better at it than nobodies. Just treat colonisation as a bonus to your expansion, not its only goal. Focus on warfare and such.

Hey Holla Forums, heard of that ck2 map gen tool thats been going around?

New EU4 dev diary
-after a war is over, you get to see how many troops each participant lost, and whether they lost them to combat or attrition
-losses are also stored over game's course and can be viewed in the ledger
-minimap now displays armies

Jesus Christ they didn't have those things yet? No wonder everyone shat on that game.

I've played demos for some of these games recently, since I never played much of paradox's games (mostly total war, going by genre), how are they/which ones should I torrent?

Pick your favourite time period and start with a game series from that time period. It is better if you don't play EU4 and especially not HoI4.

If you're a baby who never played past total war, go for CK2 or EU4 (it's for casuals). If you feel like you're more than that, try EU3 or Darkest Hour.

Do not play HoI4

Vicky 2 is by far the best Paradox game. Make sure you got HPM with it.

Don't forget to genocide the natives and to put a national focus there. Some of the national ideas may also help. Also remember to keep sending colonists. It's financially beneficial to keep sending colonists to a colony. You end up getting the colony faster and paying less for it.

post your happening stats

Darkest hour and Victoria 2 seem to fit what you want.

...

I started playing Victoria 2 NWO as Japan. I was losing money everyday for an year until the bankruptcy. And then I was suddenly making money, because I guess I wasn't paying debt any more?

I see a nose

Your first mistake was to release Balkan nations in the first place. Slavs can not rules themselves.

I see a retarded hippie

This seems to be a thing even with America.
With the UK I couldn't bankrupt for two years so I stopped.
Unemployment in Japan and the UK was extremely high. America was a little better, but still bad.
What the fuck? Surely the game is not suppose to work like that?

That is one factor but bankruptcy also increases the lower limit for taxes and tariffs and forces all types of spending to 0%. You were probably losing money because you had stockpile at 100%. It's not a bad idea to keep it low during peace time and then raising it before a war.

For

I guess the daily expenses are just not set on reasonable numbers from the start?

How do I make NWO fun? I tried playing it as Britain and virtually nothing actually happened

There is no god

A good thing, given Paradox's current state.

I gotta say, Reaper's Due is at least somewhat funny in that half my court is shitting themselves at any given time.

Is the Victoria 2 NWO mod actually realistic or is ijust some Reddit tier memeing?

No one seems to answer me, so let me ask it this way, what are reasonable numbers to put things at?

You can put things like LGBT rights and feminism, which just end up decreasing your birth rates. I don't know if that is realistic enough for you.

Do reforms for anything do anything other than increase and decrease birth rates?

Play as Germany and make it great again.

That's about it, though. It's fairly lacking in terms of events to guide it into some sort of interesting direction, especially in the future, so it's generally pretty barebones. But maneuvering your way around the USA and the Soviets to restore German clay is pretty fun.

Or just form the EU, I guess. But staying Germany is more fun.

Here is a shitty video my.mixtape.moe/mzbuaa.mp4

That's just evil.

...

It was meant to be.

White nationalists, clearly.

Richard Spencer get out

Literally who?

...

The EU is literally the Fourth Reich. Germany is the only nation that consistently benefits from the EU, everyone else it pretty much fucked.

The EU is literally a fascist project.

Germany doesn't really benefit, look at all the turkroaches and arabs and niggers that are being allowed in.

Are you sure about this?

That's a funny way of spelling Brussels autocrats. An average German citizen does not benefit from the EU.

eastern europe benefits A LOT from it. also they are bad enough dudes to tell fuck no to the immigration quotas

...

Be under a western puppet or be under RUS. Pick your poison.

No it doesn't. Eastern Europe is rife with political corruption, and extreme portions of taxes vanish in politicians' pockets. You know what's even easier to steal than taxes? European donations, since the citizens don't give a shit as its not their money, and Brussels doesn't give a shit as it's not their money either (it belongs to the taxpayers of various western countries, but they do not realise it). Frequently, you can see those 'Built with EU donations' signs, and just as often you gotta wonder if its satire. For example, I was hiking in them ountans once, when I came upon this large rock (completely ordinary boulder, nothing special about it) with a small metal plaque on it 'memorial to victims of BLAHBLAHBLAH, built for 89 million CZK from european donations' that equals to around 33 million euro. The country is full of that shit, and this is Czech republic, the most westernised country of eastern Europe.

mountains*

I thought that was slovenia

Why? All they do is charge tolls like jews for everyone who passes through their shit country on the way to superior croatia

I mean economically per capita and hdi

I don't think the strength of economy indicates how western you are. Look at china.

So is anyone going to teach me how to play this game?

HoI3 MP host here. Are we still up for the game today? I'll be available to host at 21:30 UTC.

If you're new, just let your capitalists do all the factory-related stuff, and only take care of taxes and tariffs

I'll be there

Look in the mega in the pastebin archive. There's a folder in the Victoria 2 folder called "Guides for faggots who like to be spoonfed" with infographics in it

Fucking finally, Its hard to imagine it took them literally years to put functionality as basic as this into the game, specially considering the game has no simulation in it and everything is decided through dicerolls.

Bare minimum military spending, focus on staying solvent and building an industrial base. Bretton Woods can help if you have to go into debt. Avoid wars because they can push you into bankruptcy anyways.

Avoid military and naval tech.

Once your economy stabilizes and you have a solid base, you can start rearming and begin to recollect your rightful mainland clay.

But it is educational that is the biggest killer and isn't important for making middle class?

Also should I invest in projects?

If you can't fund education then you can't fund it. Stabilize your economy first. Besides, education in NWO is slow as fuck at the start anyways; it picks up later on as more techs unlock.

Yes. NWO unfortunately uses PDM which makes factories brokenly cheap.

gonna fire up summa dat civ 3 fam shit gon b ryt monica

...

...

Damn

Game is up. Get on Discord for info.

Someone needs to tell those racist Swedish bastards at Paradox to make their games simpler so the diverse individuals among us can understand them too.

MP game is up
71.194.213.210

Oh, it did happen. No more unemployment.

By the way is there any chance the movements turn into rebels? I got scared when I read rebel factions, but it turned out to be a reform movement.

I think that if they reach a certain % of militancy they could join a rebel faction. Also you should set a national focus, you have 1 focus not being used.

...

...

When did that happen?

How does that work? Did the US split into the different formable American countries?

Pics of america?

America is whole. The idea is I guess of something similar to the fall of the USSR, but for America.

They are actually still first by ranking, second by military and first by industrial ranking. It is only their prestige that has suffered greatly. I wonder if that means that communism and socialism are going to start rising in Europe.

What's the current government there? I guess that's what happened, but I have no clue how it would happen so quickly.

If the US fell and the USSR is still around, how on Earth did East Germany merge with Federal Germany? Is the eastern bloc falling apart too?

Jesus fucking Christ.

Man, I was ignoring everything and focusing just on my country (not that I did much). I have no idea what the fuck is going on here.

I just realize there is only one Korea too. At one point I was asked for military access from both and I ignored them after that. A big chunk of Africa is still French.

Duch Indonesia.

This is Victoria 2, right? What mod?

Wait a second, Cambodia and Vietnam South Vietnam are French. British South Yemen. I wonder for how long are this going to stay.

New World Order.

just glancing at that thumbnail, I thought it was Samuel Jackson as Mace Windu

More on topic, after playing these games for years I realize I don't know what the exact difference is between 4x and GSG. If someone could just explain it to me, I'd be very appreciative

When are you going to kick remilitarize and kick the shit out of communist China? Are they a nuclear state yet?

Playing a Russia playthrough in HOI4 pretty fun so far
Claimed Turkish Straits but got into a civil war when I was still invading Turkey but managed to defeat both Turkey and democratic Russia
See if I can conquer Iran and Iraq next and then fuck up Britain

Red Russia or black Russia? If the latter, how badly has it broken the event chains?

Black Russia?

Red Russia with a new mod that moves around the focus tree
Its weird the new version they put says that it makes it harder for France to go Communist but this was the first playthrough where France became the French Commune without my help

...

You are shit.

Nigger, you don’t fucking comprehend the EU.

I pick neither. Fuck alliances.

Sorry, by that I mean fascist Russia using the sandboxy drift mechanic. Commies are reds. Fascists are blacks, or browns, as in the shirts. Democrats don't get a nifty color, but I suppose you could call them blue. Going after the Turkish strait implied Third Rome revanchism, but I thought I'd check. Or this fellow, if you want to go full Iron Storm. Still need to play that.

I see. Does it do anything for the game ending up totally broken if the player goes off the historical rails, even if they don't try to be gamey about it? I'm not overly interested in HoI IV with how bad it turned out, but I am curious if it's getting any kind of band-aid community fixing.

Keeping a handle on the Med is Italy's job. They weren't incredible at it by a 1944 start, mind you, but it is at least nominally their job, and you can just use their ports or the Crimea. Not like either're exiting the German sphere any time soon.

What mod? Are there ones that make the game tolerable yet?

It has a mod community that is putting out some decent mods but the base focus trees doesnt seem to constrain you too much though
I'm going for a Trotskyist world revolution type playthrough in which I puppet or subvert everyone into the Comintern

HOI4 is my first paradox game so Im ok with it
AI is shit but oh well

Absolutely disgusting. Best of luck to you!

Also, correction on the Wrangel point, he's not the inspiration for Iron Storm, that was Baron von Ungern-Sternberg. Wrangel was one of the moderate Czarist whites. Ungern-Sternberg was an ultramonarchist still keen on the divine right of kings with a questionable reputation as a mad dog fighter with a heinous temper and a thing for esoteric Buddhism. Black Baron, Baron Ungern, mixed things up.

4X features equal start, randomised map, few (or none) diffferences between races, tend to be less detailed, and doesn't care for history. In a GSG, it's easy to roleplay

4X: think of Civilization. Big empty map for you to colonize and make your own borders from barbarian lands. The focus tend to be the last one alive on the map.

GSG: real world borders in a specific time period, where you can do the stuff you please to move history where you want to. While you can do a world conquest if you really want to, it' not the focus of the game.

Anyone got an alternative Victoria 2 link, pastebin isn't working, and I can't find another viable one.

Look a little better in the pastebin.

...

any free strategy games?

Risk.

really?
store.steampowered.com/app/227920/

Nigger just find a risk like game warlight.

Why is EU4 the only god damn fucking game that saves the event that was up when you were saving? I don't need it in that garbage.

How do I handle the command structure of HoI3? Is there a simpler way to manage the shit without spending half an hour rearraanging everything every time I move a unit?

Pic related. Other than that, your options are to let the AI reorganize your OOB as it sees fit and to pay attention to the OOB yourself when you invade someone.

that's not what I meant. I can organise this all well, but during offensives, divisions tend toget separted and wander off as the front gets larger or as certain areas need reinforcing. Having to rebind them to HQs all the time demands a whole lot of micro.

Reminder for NWO: forts are only in one province for state, so for most provinces, the Motorized Infantry you get from mobolizing are all that's needed to occupy fast (which they do really well).

Apart from a dedicated stack or two to hunt enemy stacks, reserves are really all you need, standing army is nowhere near as important as in regular Vicky 2.

Again, your options are to either give the control to the AI and allow it to reorganize the OOB as it sees fit, or pay attention to what you're doing so your divisions don't get separated. If you click on the HQs you can see where the units bound to it are(you can also select all units that bound to an HQ by clicking on the bar). I like to use 4 Corps armies, with 1-3 Corps free from the OOB for enclirclements/reinforcement. Just send them where they're needed, bind to the nearest army, kill stuff, unbind and send to the next place.

I'm gonna try to form a Scandinavia with North German as an accepted culture.

So far I started as Denmark, released Schleswig-Holstein, took Schleswig from it, killed Denmark's army and navy and ran up a bankruptcy as well as knocking down relations with Sweden a bit, released and played as Schleswig (everything up to here is to get rid of the Danish cores so Denmark doesn't invade immediately and annex you; weakened it before releasing so it'd be easier to annex later).

Next, allied Sweden and with their help annexed Holstein. At this point it's pretty much Schlewig-Holstein but with the cultures reversed and so eligible to form Kalmar Union.

Then, invaded Denmark and took Jylland. Next step is to annex the rest of Denmark and then start waiting for Prussia to get itself into a bad war. May also try to get an African presence for meatgrinder nigs and RGOs.

How i did for my first game in ck2? Started as king of Asturia.

Scandinavian Customs Union achieved. Likely no problems forming it once the time rolls around and in the meantime Germany can't happen.

Next is to work on colonial empire (Warri alone paid for all my stuff) and relations with probably Austria to try to tilt the scales against Prussia and maybe even manage to get the AI to make the SGF.

Depends on the start date. If you went with Charlemagne or Old Gods, you should be able to conquer the entire map and still have time to spare

What are your territorial plans for Prussia? Taking the northern coasts that Sweden had?

The entirety of the NGF, though it'll likely involve a ton of savescumming to annex all the German OPMs unless HPM lets pan nationalists form Germany.

Also going to grab the Baltics later on.

Anything that has my pops in it, really.

Or what I might do if the Sulu glitch isn't fixed is just use that to burn the OPM infamy.

Or maybe something like this, for now.

I remember the war in China to have always been a tedious slog with supply shortages and all, not a fucking roflstomp. All I did was take all the brigades from Manchuria and Japan. Didn't even bother encircling anything - there was no need as the chinese may have as well been non-existant. During the entire war, I lost exactly two battles, neither of them important. Is this shit normal?

Pretty much. Even the AI usually beats China pretty badly

I don't think Asturias exists in Old Gods, it's a Charlemagne thing. He's also a tiny kingdom that is first in line to get skullfucked by the Ummayads as one of the last pre-culture split Visigoth holdouts. For a first time and assuming he isn't gaming the system as hard as physically possible, I'd say that's pretty good for an underdog-to-Rome blob.

Well start date was charlemaigne, and i reformed rome in last 10 years of crap. I just made a mistake of forming custom empire. Then made another in letting have 65 yo ruler have a son with ultimogeniture succesion. Welp when oldest of siblings was installed by faction as emperor i just got demoted to subordinate branch. Motherfucker also kicked all muslims of iberia but also it became independent. I admit i could do better, but at least i tried to learn.
But the feeling when i got andalusia kingdom in 1370s due to lot's and lot's of assassinations and indynasty marriages, then married my ruler to oldest daughter of Byzantine emperor then assassinated males in succession line. No shots fired conquest.

More successful than my first CKII game.
I married my cousin without noticing on my first character, and the inbreeding introduced dwarfism into all the dynasty's heirs for the next couple centuries. The only time a non-dwarf was in line to inherit the kingdoms, he was a Genius who died at age eight.
I went from Duke of Brittany to King of Ireland and Scotland, and held most of England, then a well-timed assassination of my own mother got me the Norwegian crown. My dreams of a Dwarven Empire of the North Sea were immediately crushed in the ensuing civil war, which knocked me back down to a handful of ducal titles. In the AI's hands the realm collapsed, and combined with my dynasty finally breaking its streak of dwarfism, I sort of lost the will to continue.

Continuing my Trotskyite Russia playthrough
I successfully took Iran but Britain had already puppetted Iraq and had it join the Allies
Also for some reason the French Commune joined the Allies, this is bullshit
They must have dumbed down Germany's AI in the latest patch because its been absolutely atrocious its 1941 and it still hasnt conquered Belgium
Italy has conquered more French territory than Germany
But to keep from getting bored I decided to invade Afghanistan in preparation to liberate the poos from the loos only to find out Afghanistan was a signatory to the Anti-Soviet Pact thus setting off WW2
In which Finland,Romania and Japan declare war on me because I invaded Afghanistan
But I absolutely wrecked Finland with 3motorized divisons and 2tanks
Ill probably puppet Germany by 42 or 43 and then its on to the allies

So what does HoI4 have going for it? The production system seems to be an improvement but everything else looks like shit.

The new division building system is pretty cool. The mana cost is ridiculously dumb (play USA, produce artillery, too dumb to figure out how to put them in your divisions until you've fought land battles for a few months), and its really imbalanced (put 1 TD in every infantry division and steamroll anyone), but its neat.

Nothing. It has worse warfare than HoI3 and worse diplomacy and events than DH. Perhaps the peace table negotiations,, but even there the AI's retarded, as are the points.

Why? As slav i know firsthand that Trotsky was A-tier madman.
Well, at least he was sorta cool, in comparison with Stalin.

Are GSGs fun in multiplayer?

Most of them are designed for multiplayer, the more the merrier style. If you can get one or two friends you can orchestrate some serious bullshit. Get 4-6 and you can get a real party or play a 3v3 HoI game. Get, like, 10 people and things get stupid, but in a good way.

New Stellaris dev diary
-you can now find neutral stations full of traders, artists, or curators for hire
-they provide basic haggling (energy for minerals and such), but some may contain unique technologies
-this is exclusive to the DLC

That's it. A pile of fucking nothing

You can get land mana from Lend-Lease and exercising units too.

Exercise is basically useless. Lend-Lease is something many countries can't do. It's ridiculous that, say, France will start WW2 with division equipment resembling the Napoleonic wars.

What a coincidence, that's exactly what I'm willing to give them for their game.

How the fuck do I go about bringing Austria back into Germany in VIC 2 NWO?

Into the trash it goes.

Into the trash you go.

...

Civ 5 is not even top 5 civ games fam

...

Best grand strategy game?

Just found about the existence of the HOI3 Position Editor. This could save us a lot of time when editing maps for custom games, maybe making our random maps more balanced between factions. ufile.io/03733

You can edit stuff in bulk, say, change owners/add cores of as many provinces at once as you want to.

sometimes being a Lunatic is interesting

Good man, that horse.

;_;

You've failed

F

shit didn't even cross my mind to do it
now i'll be prepared

Fucking commies.

So I got this and my population growth jumped from 8k to 18k. Fucking hell.

30k. What the fuck is happening.

What are the results of the two choices?

Whatever they might be, you know what to do.

Demographic crises when?

Something about communists getting more military or something. They have been getting slowly numbers in the rebel screen up to 369k, which doesn't worry me much. No brigades either.

What does encouraging certain industries even do? I tried encouraging pops, but it seemed to be too small to matter.

You can seduce the horse if you get the focus. The flavour text is concerned about the horse being too young in comparison to you, and not about the fact it's a horse

What the flying fuck.

Damn. You're in for a wild ride in a few years

How do I disable map saving? It always does one with me screenshot and I don't want to move the screenshot button.

The communist lost conscious and militarism. Their rebel support 200k people very fast.

Wait a second. Does the residency shit means they can vote if their are resident in the country?

Welp

Your population is largely uneducated and probably relatively poor so you have high birth rates. NWO applies a big birth rate mod to simulate whether your population is having lots of kids or has settled into comfortable middle class high education lives and having less. Population total may be factored in too.

Once your lit and stuff go higher your birth rate will go negative although it only happens for bursts so you can still grow even if you close the borders.

...

WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED

The communists showed again with 6 million support and died in days again.

Two bad events one after another.

So I get big movements all the time that turn into rebels that disappear in a few days.

holy shit, Im playing japan as well, but still in the 50's.
Can't wait for this bullshit.

I am about to lose my great power rank. My industries even went to being only 5th. What should I do? I didn't really wanted to bother with wars.

Here is some retro Japanese music youtube.com/watch?v=-iqwylKWS9c
jpop80ss.blogspot.bg/search?q=Anri

Are you running out of craftsmen?
Are not enough factories?
What exactly is the problem with your factories?

also thanks for the music

You mean workers? 4.19 Million out of 27 million. 7.38 Labourers. 12.83 Farmers. I guess the farmers are the biggest problems? But NWO seems to always have too many of them, at very unrealistically high points even on the 92 start. By the way, all the unemployment is in Okinawa where I can't build anything.

Are your capitalists being retarded and not building efficient factories?
Would it be viable to encourage more workers?
How does your admin efficiency look like? (it affects promotion rates)
Also, factory output is also important, so try getting factory output tech & increase clerks (they increase output or througough output or something)
ALSO, im pretty sure foreign investment might count towards your industrial score, but don't trust me on that one.

i think hovering over the industrial score on your GUI can tell you what exactly is contributing to your score, so you can try to optimize based on that.

1% tariffs give me 9.38 money. Also all factories are being subsides for some reason. I definitely have a problem with the middle class and probably even the rich.

By the way in 79 Japan invented the Commodore 64 and now I am getting a computer industry. Surely that is going to be helpful.

I don't even know if increasing tariffs would help your local industry. Is Vicky's economy even that in depth?

Do you know if more advanced industry gives a larger industry score?

It seems to be very much pro free-trade. If nothing else it at least pleases the capitalists.

I don't know about being advanced, but should be in demand if realistic.

At this point, i've given you my best knowledge on Vicky's industrial system. I guess I still don't grasp it all.

Fuck it, I am forcing Personal Computers now. Just maybe I will become an industry tech giant.

good luck to you then! Make nippon great again all that jazz

Fucking democracy, how does it work?

It doesn't

No idea how this is happening when I seem to be even going further down in industry power. I guess others must be fucking up worse?

Troskyist Russia playthrough communism triumphant! XD
France crapped out and surrendered just as I got into western Poland
Romania is harder to invade than one would think
Spanish Republic came through in the end though and helped Mother Russia invading all of France and west Germany
Puppets puppets everywhere
Satellite Poland,Hungary, Austria, Baltics and Puppet Indonesia, Germany and Italy
All thats left to defeat is the Japs and then I can overthrow the Eternal Anglo

...

Man, everything basically have negatives on it. What am I even suppose to implement. 44% of the people want ban on hate speech and 3% want Secularism, but I don't want to give them either. For the rest people don't even care.

Why is the Japanese public so retarded? Have you invented anime yet?

Pretty sure it gets invented before the game starts.

You answered your own question. :^)

Are you trying to get a specific group into power?

from Wikipedia:
It is already too late for Japan

Is there point to even increase administration if it says 100% on the top?

I have been powering through for the last 10 years and nothing seems to really matter much. I even got a high fertility rate buff again in 92.

No, I don't think any other improvements matter.

I can't be bothered to read that tl;dr, but that aside I have been making money like crazy. And seriously, is there point to putting so much money on administration?

You're probably best off dropping it to a point to maintain ~100% efficiency.

So it is nice to make combos. It is weird how it says there are basically no people working them.

I put the last 4 industries in Okinawa manually. They sure are doing very good.

Holy shit, that computer industry in Chugoku.

Wait, which game? Is this HOI4?

Having not played stellaris since launch is it worth getting into again with some mods?
I'm bored

Victorai 2 mod, dummy.

What game is this? It doesn't look like one from the OP

...

Does HoI4 have DRM on it's workshop? The Steam Workshop downloaders don't work.

I'd wait for Heinlein to drop.

Does it work for other games? They usually find ways to fuck with the downloaders. I don't even understand how they can even let them exist when it should be so easy to make it impossible to just download.

Pretty much, yeah. There are long-term bugs (with either the script or Steam) where the file can't be found to download, but EU4 at least works no problem. It's also not a new vs old game thing since the Stellaris and Cities: Skylines workshops are available through the Russian site.

New thread

Playing HoI3 HPP as Germany and AI Japan just decided to completely ignore China and instead attacked the soviets. It's kicking ass so far, so that's good, but I'm wondering if there's an event that makes peace between the two after a certain point, or if they'll keep fighting until either of them surrenders

Great timing, user

Tariffs are universal so it also fucks input resources unlike IRL where raw materials were generally never tariffed.

IMO the best way to handle a Vicky 2 economy is minimal taxes, enough tariffs to keep afloat, and subsidize + mass upgrade factories, but regularly check and delete ones that are just costing you subsidies and are unlikely to ever turn profitable. If you don't prune the bad ones early on you can end up with crazy runaway subsidies and huge unemployment if you close them at that point.

Personally later on I like to tax the wealthy everything they have and use that to lower tariffs even more. By that point you don't really need them building factories since everything is just getting shift click upgraded.

Also it really does depend a lot on your size. If you have a huge colonial empire with limitless RGOs or a continental European superblob containing half the world's industrial output, you can basically do whatever you want tariff-wise because you'll either have all the inputs you need or the world is forced to buy from you regardless of price, respectively.

In the early game I do the exact opposite, since in the beginning you have a shitty bureaucracy so you won't get above a 30-40% effective taxrate same with tarriffs. Late game you become more effective.
I sometimes keep factories that run at a loss, because they can feed into other industries or become a great investment later on.
I find taxing the poor more effective since they almost always have just enough to keep them in the black.

I once rushed Africa as Greece once and ended up owning 90% of the world's rubber aside from a few provinces in Brazil. Eventually I got enough Tanks and enough factories that I was using almost all of my domestic product leading to me being one of the only countries in the world to have Tanks and Airplanes. I crushed the roach by 1923

If you're running Interventionist or State Capitalist, the capitalist and landowner pops don't really have any use, but they get paid anyways and so have lots of cash for you to tax. It's better to have the poor retain their money so they can purchase more goods, especially liquor and such.

If you're Laissez Faire, well, it works about as well in Vicky 2 as it does IRL.
