Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Years ago, I played Oblivion on my 360, but never did any of the expansion content.

Can this game be fun on PC with a couple of mods to improve the textures and fix bugs?

the real question is why you thought it would be a good idea to get an rpg on a console
the next question is why of all consoles would you get a 360

leave this board.

Hmmm… it's September. So why does the board look like it's July?

Except for the fact that bethesda games were even more horribly disfigured and fucked up on the PS3, not to mention that the playstation controller is and will always be pretty shit, DS3 in particular. If you were going to play tes4 on a console, 360 would have been the console to play it on.

No but it can be a fantastic Ero game if you're patient enough to get the mods running.

I always hear anons talk about Skyrim and Oblivion sex mods, but are there morrowind sex mods?

Fat burger spotted

get yourself OCO (v1 if you want it to feel like the intended artsyle (instead of potatoes), v2 if you want it to look like skyrim)
get a jungle mod
that alone covers a fuckton of issues

some nude mods but I can't think of any sex mods. They were unnecessary as Morrowind is a full and robust game

To be fair both Oblivion and New Vegas were literally unplayable on the PS3 at the beginning.
I don't knowif it got patched later on but both games suffered from gamebreaking bugs or unplayable framerate issues on PS, less so on Xbox.

Now why anybody would play stuff like that on a console in the first place is beyound me.

Is this bait? If it's not then you're in for a world of magic, fun and porn.

The sticks on ps3 and even ps4 controllers are weak and will wear out pretty quick. 360 controllers had a problem with the springs on the bumpers wearing out, and the contacts on the triggers were sort of bad, But from what I've seen of the xbone controllers they're pretty solidly built.

Blessed be these quads. Also and since this doesn't really deserve its own thread…

I want to play heavily modded Skyrim with max graphics and ENB. Is this possible with a laptop? If yes, how much will it cost? If not, how much would a decent PC cost.

Have had my DS3 since 2008, still works as well as it did the first day after using it daily on ps3 and then almost daily on pc
Ya got fat hands

You are now aware that someone took time and dedication to turn Tamriel into literally Vietnam.

It would technically be possible with a laptop if you got one of those ridiculous gamer ones, but it would be more expensive than buying a desktop with equivalent hardware.

If I buy a desktop one I'd need to buy literally everything, even the screen.

Holy shit. Looks much more fitting for FO3 though.

Have had one of my DS3s since 2007. Got a second one because after a while the plastic wears, but the first one works fine.
In fact, my brother has run through multiple 360 controllers since he got his 360, the stick rubber always wears off after about 3 years of play.
f32d6d has fat hands but won't admit to it.

Because it was hands down the best 7th gen console.

I'm sure there are but it wouldn't be worth it. The game is a bit to outdated for the kind of stuff needed for it to be worth the trouble.

Would still probably be more expensive. You're not only buying the effort and manufacturing costs of fitting that hardware into a kinda laptop-sized computer plus features you probably won't use, but you're probably also overpaying for the brand name. The price for a desktop also really depends on where you put the money. If you just want to play Skyrim with great graphics, you aren't going to need an amazing cpu, for instance. I'm assuming you're already posting from a laptop, so if you really want to get cheap, you probably don't even need to buy a disc drive. That's the advantage of building a desktop yourself, you can buy only exactly the components you need.

What? Most worthwhile games that are on 360 are also on ps3, ps3 has a good number of decent exclusives, and you didn't have to pay for online capability on ps3.

OpenMW gives a lot more possibilities for porn mods than Oblivion or Skyrim, but I fear it won't ever get popular enough to get that far.

Thanks for the advice. How much do you think I'll need to spend. I may know a guy who can help me, tho.

I can't really say, because I don't really keep up with current hardware costs and I'm not exactly sure what you're looking at it terms of power. I payed quite a bit for mine, but I splurged on a few components, plus I didn't really take advantage of any good deals. I don't think playing Skyrim at max graphics is going to take the supreme top of the line graphics hardware, but it's not going to take something low end, either.

top kek m8

Damn, I'm actually impressed.

The actual jungle mod is pretty shit other than screenshots. The plants look decent but there's not enough variety and the placement for a lot of them are retarded. I was on a main path heading out of IC when a giant tree was in the middle of the road. What's worse is that the plants don't actually have collision and you can walk right through them.

Then the "ambience" mod to add jungle sounds is literally a horribly compressed sound of a monkey making chimp noises as if it was right in front of you.

That sounds hilarious.

...

You know, a modern TV actually works OK as a monitor. I'm using a second hand TV as my screen right now in fact.

I have a DS3 that I left at a friend's house for a year, his dog literally used it as a chew toy, thing looked fucking destroyed, I filled in the holes with epoxy and now that I can hold it, it still fucking works, m80.

mine is old. Before that one we had a small TV that literally used a potato to work.

Grab the rights mods and yes. OOO is a good start. Alternatively get that hongfire pack, spend 15 hours getting it to fucking work and fap your dick off. Oblivion has a somewhat more /d/-tier community compared to Skyrim's overall more vanilla one.

Oblivion is the worst game Bethesda have ever made. Even Fallout 4 is better than Oblivion.

Well yeah, and Skyrim is better than Morrowind, everyone knows that.

user I feel for you, I discovered the Elder Scrolls series trough a friend's xbox 360 copy. And don't listen to all the hipster contrarians who will pretend that the only valid opinion is having played the game since Arena. Even though it only sold a thousand copies at the time and most people here weren't even born when it came out It can be pretty fun to play on PC. But you're gonna get a lot of flak from Morrowindbabies who don't realize Morrowind is just as shit as Oblivion but their nostalgiaglasses prevent them from seeying that as they think back fondly on playing it on the xbox their parents gave them for Christmas back to a time when their parents felt something different then utter contempt to them.

Yes.I am playing it right now.Get the unofficial patches for oblivion,SI and the dlcs.
I also recommend something to change the leveling system and scaling of the enemies/quest rewards. I am using a mod that gives +5 to a specific attribute at level up as long as i level up a skill for that attribute at least once.If you think that's too cheap you could use "oblivion XP". Ahh there's also the problem with the leveled list….. I hate seeing bandits in full daedric and getting the level 5 version of a certain weapon/trinket/armor as a reward for completing a certain mission for that i used "Oblivion Scaling Unclusterfucked".
If i use these mods i can focus on playing the fucking game instead of micromanaging my skill and delaying certain quests.

morrowind was definitely better than oblivion.

i figure you're one of the retards that complains about missing while he tries attacking with no stamina, but if you actually analyze the games objectively you'll see that oblivion was a huge downgrade gameplay-wise, it became way too casual.

either way, TES is a dead series to me, i won't play any of the new games neither i will go back and replay the old ones again

...

Daggerfall was definitly better then morrowind.
i figure you're one of the retards that complains about hitboxes while he tries attacking with bad dicerolls, but if you actually analyze the games objectively you'll see that morrowind was a huge downgrade gameplay-wise, it became way too casual.
either way, TES is a dead series to me, i won't play any of the new games because of nostalgiagoggles.

i cant disagree with you because i didnt actually bother with daggerfall.

but we agree on one thing, every game gets more casual and shit than the last one, its a fixed curve of constant downgrades, so why bother?

are you a woman perhaps?

I still prefer Morrowind but I had a lot of fun in Oblivion, though it required the usual OOO mods and optimization before I could. OpenMW, Tamriel Rebuilt, Project Tamriel, some amazing stuff is coming very soon for the community of Morrowind.

If only I was good in 3D I could make my own

Speaking of which anybody have anything they're looking for with Oblivion lewd mods? 2 solid years of trying just about everything has made me pretty well versed in what's available. Even the beta shit that never got a solid release. Seriously just name it I can tell you if it exists or not within a reasonable parameter.

...

>TFW I heard Skyrim is even better at this sort of interaction stuff

Also, user, I've got a trick for you:

reddit please go

...

Oblivion is the weakest entry in the series. I don't know why you'd want to play it again.

If you want a good dungeon crawler, play Daggerfall.
If you want to be immersed into a fictional world, play Morrowind.
If you want to have fun with mods, go with Skyrim. It's a better game vanilla than Oblivion, too.

Oblivion is basically Fallout 3 of its series.

There was a Oblivion quest mod that played on this feature extremely well. To this day I still remember it.

doppelgänger?

I wanna know that too op.
I'm also tired to look at the soap-looking marble from those snow elves, the plastic looking vegetation, and the greasy faces.
I'd gladly play again if i can have me those fixes.

No, Tears of the Fiend. It was a fairly short but very important part of it.

hey newfag

hey shitposter

It aint my fault your an ignorant shit

You're

so how am i an ignorant shit?

Thanks for the tip but I'm one up on that sadly. I have a mod that allows me to make a blank character instead of a fullactorcopy on the dime as well as simply create her without ever having to remove my look. I also can change my or her body type with a spell or command to fit any clothing.

wow

You're just embarrassing yourself now.

Bump for the night.

You need more mods than that to make it fun. The primary one you're looking for is OOO, but anything that removes level scaling and balances the game accordingly will work.

Also Shivering Isles is a blast, you can ignore most of the other expansion content unless you really don't like elves in which case do Knights of the Nine.

Silly question. It can never be good, even with mods.

Did you miss the gigantic sticky in >>>/tes/ ? Be warned, you've got fifty or so mods to install just to cover all of the basics.
