So HTC is making an appstore for the VIVE

So HTC is releasing an appstore for the VIVE. Essentially creating an even more closed environment for a PERIPHERAL.

FUCK ZUCKERBERG FOR STARTING THIS SHIT TREND, WE NEED TO KILL THE KIKE

We're talking about a product valve is involved in. The creators of the worlds largest and most encompassing DRM there is for video games.

Glad I didn't fall for the VR gimmick

Guess you should support OSVR, nigger.

...

...

vr is gay lol

...

True, but this is a peripheral. Even they should fucking know to allow VR to be adopted AT ALL is to make it simple and open.

This is the fucking opposite of what they should fucking do. It's like getting a game that only works with a Razer Keyboard.

I STILL WANT ZUCKERBERG TO DIE. I'M NOT EVEN JOKING AT THIS POINT, HE'S A MALIGNANT TUMOR

Thing is I saw this back then and there seems to be absolute fuck all info on it. It look like some cheap knockoff too. Will this thing even get adopted at this point? If not then this tech is fucked.

There are some articles reviewing it when you search on jewgle, but the big thing to me is providing an open-source alternative with upgradeability. The 2.0 version of their HDK is out now and I'm tempted to order one and see what kind of a mess it is or if it's workable. You should be able to find more first-party info on their site now, and it seems that they support SteamVR so you can use it on something like Project Cars.

Can we stop pretending VR is good for anything except porn?

Interesting. Do they have the penis controllers like vive does? I want to touch titties in Honey Select.

What amuses me the most is that valvedrones do it for free

We've had GOG shills here since day one
Witcher 3 shilling was goddamn awful and in my view when the board started to go to shit

I looked more into it. I see RAZER involved. A company who had been KNOWN to fucking lock their peripherals behind their shitty drivers that require you to sign up.

FUCK THIS.

maybe we could #closethebook

It's not just Razer though. I will admit I am dubious of their involvement, but I'm hopeful for now. And no, there's no official penis grips, but they will offer (supposedly) a Leap motion hand track so you can do it with out holding the dildos.

Isn't that like saying Steam makes all of PC gaming a closed environment?
People can still sell software for the Vive without going through the appstore.

It's for their Chinese audience. It's literally nothing.

I'm not liking this. Especially with how razer is a pretty major contributor here and also shipping their kits to people.

I guess any new tech IS fucked now. From OS, to phones, to VR. It's all being JEWED thanks to companies like FAPPLE, Jewsoft and Facebookulus rift.

We can never have anything nice ever again.

Why the fuck should I care? All forms of VR is shit, AR is the only decent way to be experiencing anything. VR takes too much autism and money to set up, and ALWAYS ends up shit. Plug the fucking game into my brain matrix-style, fuck strapping a monitor on my head to play fucking ping pong.

It technically is isn't it? Games that dont go on steam basically die. It's a death sentence not to use Steam. With VIVE being popular now, you can expect the same/worse results

I really doubt it, Satan. You should know since you've seen how dumb most humans can be.

Right now VR has the capabilities to evolve into something pretty cool. Like all tech, it takes time. But fuckers like these are the ones that cripple technologies. These are why jews are hated and always ousted out of ever civilisation they join. Also AR is shit, go back to pokemon go.

Oh no VR will be even more shit. Who cares?

No it doesn't. Fuck off, shill

nice meme, have you tried telling it to Reddit for those sweet upvotes I keep hearing about?

How else would you get the kit? Unless I'm misunderstanding and that it's actually Razer shipping rather than OSVR as an organization. Yeah, this is why I wanted to try it and see if it was shit or not. It could be okay. It could also be a pile of steaming shit. I just want to find out first hand.

Not really, no. Until they make it inexpensive and not a complete cunt to set up, it's never going to take off.
Right, like how we've had oculus for ~6 years now and we're STILL basically in the same place, except exponentially more complicated
I thought Holla Forums falseflaggers stopped coming here around march, late to the game pal
Nice ad-hom but tell me how I can go out and get any mobile jew and play some shitty pokemon game by the push of an install and allow camera button to play. Now please tell me how making it a VR game that takes ages to set up it won't change anything, any form of VR tracking is pure shit and borderline broken and tell me how it will TOTALLY be better. Enough with your bullshit. The best thing to come out of VR was google carboard. At least I can watch VR porn by only having to tape the damn phone to my head.

HTC is just following the market leader,
in this case their mimicking Oculus' app store. Rather than actually compete with them by offering something completely different they decided to offer something similar in the hopes that they'll seem just as appealing in comparison. It's a worrying trend in modern tech markets and really stifles creative competition and just encourages more following the leader.

Even if the Vive is objectively the best VR I've tested this isn't going to make VR suddenly take off.

Htc's software are not required to run the vive, so i uninstalled them all.
Htc is not alone, the studio behind "the blu" are trying to pull the same thing with the "Transport" platform.

Is overmeme on steam?

It's great for ping pong and shootan games.

I want a time crisis VR emulation now!

Tell you what, taking a nap laying in "the blu" app showed me what will be.
That's all i expect from vr with the coming 4k and 8k and soon 11k hardware: a convincing change of scene for a short period of time.
And porn.
VR may not be the ideal platform for gaming, whatever, but definitively for contemplation scene and such.
I will sell my vive and buy the next gen for sure, and the next too.
