ACKSHUALLY, giant insects are not "the enemy", but a WEAPON of the enemy. The real enemy are the Ravagers.
EDF using insectoid technology would be no different than using Ravager-based weapons like they already do

And, as said, humans need to exploit that at some point.
We could have a class that could control insects, like so may other games have. Imagine a class that could use the insect powers but more than that, could control insects. Imagine the devastation to have a Death Queen as your drone while you shotgun threads in one hand and acid in the other fencer style? The control of insects need to be temporary, of course.
Hell, if this game happened after 4.1 they could even say it was a desperate creation of Ohara and his team in secret after the breakdown he had when the most of the WD got assblasted by the flying incests.

Yes, but first and foremost it was an extension of 3. 2 was an extension of 1, 3 was a remake of 1, 4 was an extension of 3 and a remake of 2, and now 5 looks to be both and extension and remake of 2 - Only 2 classes, European setting, flying saucers and mostly organic enemies, and since it supposedly takes place in 2022 there's some stuff to bridge 2017 and 2025 like the slightly IA-ish infantry designs and the mecha suits that most likely become fencers and vegaltas.

Things like 2 and 4 being expansions to 1 and 2 is confirmed for the obvious fact that they are the same game but with more stuff, while 3 and 4 being remakes of 1 and 2 is just assumed since they share extremely similar missions and story progression, many being re-themed maps with equivalent enemies, such as the mothership assaults, floating city/earth eater fight, the 3 hives mission in late MP, or the early artillery hector warehouse/daroga bridge missions.

2017 on vita has Ranger and Pale Wing, 2 has Ranger, Pale Wing and Air Raider though AR in that functions different from AR in 2025, vehicles are just part of the map instead of equips and they just function better with ARs in them and instead ARs just have three gear slots.
