I've had it with today's vidya.
There seems to be no good games coming out at all.

Now it seems to be all about graphics and le randumb material for let's players.
Everyone's eating it up, which makes it even worse.
Either they watch others play video games or try to stream them themselves.
Do they do it to talk about the game? No. Now it's all about the person streaming the game, not the game itself.
Sad how I have to add "no commentary" after a game title I'm looking up if I want to see actual gameplay and not some douche talking about his day for 20 minutes.

Oh yeah, everyone's pandering to "pro players"

Because they only played CS and Dota, devs try to pander to them by dumbing down their games.
Eventually, this leads into people copying popular game genres (tactical fps, moba), and thus no one innovates and only creates the same thing over and over again.

And while free game engines allow everyone to make games, there is a ton of shit.
But what really pisses me off is that most of the garbage is actually released on Steam.
Of all the amateur games out there, idiots pick the ones marketed the most, or the ones with the silliest concept (see let's play bait)
Under all that garbage are the hidden gems that no one gets to play because half-assed games are highlighted.
The talented devs quit the industry because it's a joke.

2 shitty games come to mind from the top of my head: I am Bread and Shower with your dad
0 of my friends have luckily never played either of these.
Percent of steam users that actually finish games or play the tutorial in games is also miserable, according to most global achievement stats

Could it be that newer generations lack all patience?
Once they've launched the game, they just want to experience it in five minutes.
Once they notice that you have to actually play it, they quit.
Like, when playing online games, I see people who seem to have troubles moving in a 3D space
Every time they fuck something crucial up. They don't know how to sprint, crouchjump, aim nor do anything that the tutorial tells them.
Really disappointed in vidya these days tbh

I'm 40 and I'm telling you everything is shit.

Old games were also shit, but you didn't mind or notice it back then, and nostalgia blinds you today.

The world is shit.
Everything you know and love will progressively turn more shitty. It's the curse of living.

Not everything has to be a 70-hour RPG, faglord.
I can tell that you outgrew games because you're more concerned with their impact on society than just having fun. Yooka-Laylee is coming out, so shut up.

Op, im here to tell you to ease up your boi pussy. Its not all gloom and doom, and there are plenty of good games coming out and have been getting good games for quite a while.

Sometimes you need to look into new platforms and see which one caters best to you. Sometimes you need to take a break from modern games and look at some classics you've yet to try.

But just look at the comiket 90 releases. Games like sakuna look fascinating. The last guardian is out in a month and gravity rush 2 by the end of the year. Nioh just had a tremendous beta and prove the game was something to anticipate.

Maybe change up what you normally play and try a new genre out.
