I have tried to get into anime in the past but I have yet to find a single anime that I did not despise.

I mostly watched anime suggested in the Chans. The way the plot unfolds and how the characters are all clones of the exact same Japanese stereotypes in every anime is unbearable. The plot always unfolds in a unique Japanese way, and is usually hilariously unrealistic and insane even for fantasy standards. The way the characters act makes no sense and they are all copies of the same Japanese personality stereotypes copy pasted in every anime in the exact same way without any significant differences or character progression (unless you are a weeb, then you see character progression where there is none)

Neither were video games, but the gradual influx of normalfags changed the landscape.
