it isnt quite 9/11 in america yet
but it almost is

Was about to post that.

Rampage.

...

Another question:
How would make your own game based on 9/11?

I wouldn't because it never happened

...

Also there was some shitty VR "game" about being in one of the twin towers in 9/11

There was this flight sim, that was made right before 9/11, that took place in New York and if you wanted you could crash into the Twin Towers. Because of this, however, it was pulled from shelves just a month or two after release and is now super rare and expensive. I forget what's it's called.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Am I the only one that finds it morbidly hilarious at how many pieces of media relating to, or referencing, terrorism, specifically terrorist attacks on famous American landmarks were produced and then quickly pulled right around 9/11

Look at how many episodes of shows that got pulled from the schedule because of how sensitive the material was to the event

...

Reskinned Metal Slug?

Yep.

The only limitant I see here is level design. Every floor must have its own gimmick to make it impossible to go down the next one easily. I'd play it.

...

Eh, media is sensitive in general around the world when it comes to "murders" or "disasters".

I remember for example that School Days' final episode was censored because days before the airing, a girl killed his father with an axe and they didn't wanted to make that scene was "inspired" on that.

Though not everything was "censored" about 9/11. I remember this episode of the Timon and Pumba cartoon where Timon is asked to get an ambulance light, and when everybody asked "Where did you got that?" Timon replies "Don't ask.", and then they show a scene of various planes into a fucking building. I'm dead fucking serious, i wish i had pics but i don't even remember what episode was, but i remember it vividly, sadly i don't know if that episode was made after or before 9/11.

That was it, thanks.

Terrorism was the bank robbery of the 90s. People became intrigued by terrorism after likes of Timothy McVeigh and Uncle Ted, but they didn't think it was something could happen on such a major scale yet.

The Call of Duty series, modern warfare branch. Well and other modern combat games. They solely exists as:

A) Revenge fantasies for 9/11. They don't teach you that none of this shit would have happened if your leaders weren't treasonous and grossly incompetent; and

B) Enlisting tools for the military. Be stupid enough to enter the army, and see yourself be wasted away in wars for Israel and natural resources, designed by people who despise you.

Timon & Pumba ran until 1998. Definitely made before 9/11

Propellor Arena for Dreamcast was cancelled because you can crash planes into the towers.

...

I'd play it.

That makes it even weirder.

Deus Ex

So Americans accidentally memed 9/11 to happen.
makes sense since CIA knew about 9/11 since spring of 2001, warned bush and he did nothing about it, kek.

I think the first reference to 9/11 in a game was in the HL1 mod "Timeline III", as early as february 2002.

In the final battle, you could fail and be sent to a no-escape scenario in time. This included the trenches of WW1, soon to be hit by nerve gas; or an office in WTC, with the plane about to hit the building.

It caused quite the outrage and the scene might have been edited out, from what I remember.

...

Just the sound of that is terrifyng

Uh, you're implying our leaders are unfit and invaded the Middle East for ulterior motives, but in the words of a great woman: "The United States of America does not invade other countries to plunder and pillage. We don't send our brave men and women around the world to steal oil."

"8:46" was a short VR game where you played as someone in one of the towers during the attack. It was up for download on the oculus site for a bit, but not anymore. Not sure if anyone still hosts the files, but you can just watch the whole thing on youtube, it's only ~10 mins long.

Oh, hey, I only played the mod recently so I've got no clue there. Anything you can dig up on that?

>The final boss is crashing into the World Trade Center and if you have fucking OP pilots you can destroy nearly the entire city through collateral damage
>The secret final boss is crashing a plane as Bane
Does it sound like a good game?

I can't find anything about it. I'd like to see at least a video of this mod.

There's at least one walkthrough series on Youtube, but I don't think it features the dead-end endings.

Any game can be about 9/11 if you meme hard enough

That's the stupidest thing I've read all day, thanks

...

Yeh

Al Queda did nothing wrong

People are waking up to 500 years of indoctrination and lies.

It wouldn't specifically be about 9/11, but you run a nepotic organization that is trying to further it's ideology to manipulate the masses. One large part of it would be staging events to further said ideology.
((()))

I like it

You've actually only got 102 minutes. That'd be enough for the first part of the game. Should you actually survive it you could add a murder mystery to it as the protag goes down the rabbit hole to find the truth which eludes him. That which also consumes him.

I'm surprised he hasn't wished for a beejee

Didn't they make some live action movie about him as an adult manchild still in the same class and still having his fairies, for was that some fever dream I only imagined?

I'm assuming you meant oral, and I'm also assuming that he can't wish for sex because fairies are only for children and sex would just make him a man.

inb4 oral isn't sex

...

I'd play it

Good idea

He's only 10 or so, he's in 5th grade.

There was an episode where Timmy wanted to be an adult, so he became a huge manchild, got kicked out for being some fat ugly fuck and then got his fairies taken away because he was an adult. I forget how the episode ended, but it was him reverted back to his younger self

I think those were the straight-to-video live action movies they made.

It's implied, both by the movie and also by the fact that he's still a scrawny kid, that he keeps wishing to be 10. But even if his body is 10 his mind isn't so eventually he'd probably get horny.
I was pretty horny at 10 actually.

since we have ww2 games, why not one for 9/11? Has not enough time passed yet? Are only wars acceptable to be directly referenced in games?

There are live-action movies of Fairly Odd Parents?

Why are the first nine seasons not part of the main series?

fuck off normalfag

"Canonically" Timmy is 50+ because at one point Timmy wished for reality to essentially enter stasis, so he'd be 10 and keep his fairies forever.

Yeah The Lone Gunmen doesn't get much air time thanks to 9/11

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lone_Gunmen#The_Lone_Gunmen_series

Thanks Osama

Starring Drake Bell, yes.

Josh went on to be successful while Drake descended into mediocrity.

Drake Bell starred in them and it had some pretty bad CGI.

In one of the latest seasons, it is revealed that Timmy is actually 60 years old and he never ages
One episode he goes to trial and its revealed he wished nobody ever aged so that he would keep his fairies forever 50 years ago.
Perhaps he already knows about BJs due to his age. Let alone the fact that he had implied /ss/ in the FLARG episode.
Polite sage for offtopic.

I was happier not knowing this ever existed.

Fuck. Why?

Jesus Christ my eyes are offended.

Nier

Ed, Edd n' Eddy had 10 seasons. Rugrats got 13, Cyberchase got 14 (how I'll never understand).

But the fact that there's more episodes and continuous hours of Arthur than there is SG-1 makes me extremely uneasy.

This thread is weird.

>the main character gets over his homosexuality and accepts his yandere moth waifu

Hard to believe there's no rule against that.

That's the point. The wish was against the rule so Timmy asked for it to Cosmo and made him forget it.

Saved for posterity

102 Minute?

Do you not know that there's a fucking general for this on Holla Forums? It gets pretty deep.

Well shit

have a kek on me, boys

fucking mexicans

I had an idea like that, except there really is no "win" state, and whether you "win or lose" is more relevant to the choices you have to make along the way. The thing is, it'd have to be extremely interactive so that you can try dozens and dozens of different strategies to keep the player under the illusion that there might just be a way out. You just try to get as far as you can before it comes down. Jumping out of the windows to your death is a viable end-game state.

And it should be VR.

Holy shit.

When did their voices become so fucking intolerable? I know they all had annoying voices when the show started, but they were amusingly intolerable.

The voices now are just straight fucking cancer.

I think the pitch for the audio was made higher on that vid so that it wouldn't be taken off jewtube.

It is. But the uploader wasn't smart enough to sync it to the youtube slow down function.

...

I think the weight is lost on how creepy this wish actually is.

Only what I remember myself, sorry. It was one of the biggest projects, back in those years.

The voices are pitched up in the video so jewtube doesnt take it down.

I'd agree with making it a first person experience and make it have multiple endings. If we go by the time constraint of 102 minutes, then one could split endings with plenty of criteria. That would make for a lot of replayability. Imagine the endings out of it. The interesting deals would be the deaths as well. Hell, given how brief it is, maybe time invested into psycho battles or survivor rescue should have some reward to it. Not cheevos, but better endings or lore revealing moments.

A porn game

You had to spend like 20 seconds in that office, then the plane would close in and the screen fade to black with a bad end message. I honestly can't remember if there were any explosions and visible destruction.

When I first played it, I was confused about what was happening because I didn't know was so recent it could reference events a couple of months back. Later I read up about the scandal, that it was a literal last minute addition, and the feature being removed due to protest.

Does it count as lore rape if its not a reboot? Does this retcon anything?

...

NIER

I played it awhile ago but I don't remember this, what does NieR have to do with 9/11?

Oh, my sweet summer child.

it was inspired by the mentality of 9/11 (Terrorists thought they were doing good)

Sounds pretty damn neat, it could also have the game from another perspective, which would be from the perspective from the "window cleaners" that worked for a non-existant company planting explosives on key structures and stealthily trying to sabotage shit while retrieving/deleting important information.

Huh, I never seen it like that. Makes sense now you mention it.

Unless everyone's a nigger that's not happening.

Important individuals and security guards tend to have guns so it could easily happen

are you planting the explosives to bring the tower down without people noticing you?

SMH TBH FAM
I mean this game had terrorist and the like that you could load into a car and send them to their merry way, heck it even has a bomb trucks loaded with biological weapons
Shame that you can't load terrorist into planes, though i bet it would absolutely wreck balance But you can disguise the bomb truck as a plane

But there were no biological weapons on 9/11 :^)

Didn't he secretly wished for everybody to stop ageing and no one realized of this after 50 years?

Bad Day L.A. is a post-9/11 game, does it count? all it needed was six more months of development and a god damn patch

garry's mod

I want this goddamn game.

Why hasn't this derailed into politics yet? Let's talk about ethnic groups, forms of government, and identity politics. Fuck video games.

Also Jews did 9/11

have some imagination
