A better player would have recognized what was going on and played around it, instead of just reacting every turn, like I was. I was trying to checkmate you by putting my queen where your other rook is and covering it with something, but I never got the chance to get rid of your other rook. When you moved it up I got ahead of myself and didn't realize what you actually just did.
