Fuck I should have named it busty clang edition instead.

sage for double post

I'm ready for the best game ever made (Star Citizen)

UHNNNNNNN
THICKER

I'm ready for that week 1 pirate, and that month one fap.

Well considering Civ 5 managed to get R34 made of it, how long till we see sfm R34 of Endless Space 2?

Those aren't 3d models they are animated 2d portraits, so probably never.

Is SWTOR worth playing just to get through the Imperial Agent story?

Endless Legend only barely has R34, and not even of any of the female leaders. Such as the S&M queen of the S&M mage faction.

Best ship

Such an injustice.

What are you? 12?

Greetings anons, i have come from the 41st millennium to tell you that battlefleet gothic: armada has the Tau in open beta now.

I will commence pic dumping in few moments.

First, the tau escort ships.

REMOVE ELDAR!

Next up, their three flavors of light cruisers.

neat, are they any good to play?

Terrible shame. These are the only ones I found.

Kindly escort from the premises.

Their cruisers lack variancy (there's only two of them and even then they are almost identical, except for two weapons pointing at the front being either singular or dual versions).
You will see the ship itself more closely in up coming pics.

Note the Asymmetrical hair.

Long range weaponry, no lightning strikes, missile weapons instead of torps (which recuire target lock in order to fire) so no blind firing iwth them, said torpedoes home in on targets and cause friendly damage, so be careful with those launches.
Also they turn like ice skaters and move almost as fast as eldar do.

Now then, pics of what their favors do.

After these, some more tau ships.

how do they retreat from combat without warp engines?

So, let's start with the auxiliary ships they can get.

Some sorta blue and white warpout done by their flavor of FTL drive.

And here is their only battleship.

Also the reason why my name changes between early ships and aux/battleship is because i heard that i could get pics of all ships by making a competitive play captain and then just fill my ship roster and check those ships.

And now random pics, the warpout animation, portraits and the placeholder for rekt tau ship.

Tau use the warp but doesn't enter it, they surf it. It is slower but safer.

No Event Horizon for the Tau.

Ahh, i see. Not very familiar with the tau.

That amongst other reasons is why the Tau are so out of place in 40k - they don't even have a WH Fantasy counterpart.

Is that a 40k doctor? Is he there to give them a prostate exam? :^)

Basically they start off by going towards the warp, but then they stop before getting close to the edge of the warp and bounce back into real space.

Not as fast as warp drive, but still better than going around on normal drives.

Yeah, but one can see wisdom in not travelling through literal hell each time you need to get somewhere.

But that is the point. Tau are mary sues in a grimdark setting of 40k.

meh

Well the tau actually can't really undergo proper warp travel since they don't have a navigator equivalent
So instead they "skim" the surface of the warp

I kind of like them as a contrast, given that they are more of a typical sci-fi race, but I would have preferred it if they were sci-fi/mecha villains trying to deal with a world where magic and hell are real, and they can't take advantage of it.

Any idea if they will add portraits for the auxiliary ships?

Is Gothic Armada any good? I played the tutorial and it was kind of boring

Oh I agree with you on this.

The big problem with the Tau is GW's shitty handling of their lore
The Tau are a tiny empire, they don't occupy very many worlds for a codex faction, yet at the same time they're holding off Hive Fleets, WAAAGGHHHS, and Crusade Fleets

They should have never retconned what Xenology wrote up about them

It's an RTT more than a RTS
I really can't recommend it, the devs really failed when it came to balancing the game, then they really messed up multiplayer again by making so you "pay" for fleets/upgrades using points you earn in multiplayer which just leads to grinding and losing ships can fuck you up for several battles while you wait for them to repair

we wuz alienz an shiiet

Thanks user

What do you think yoshi's eggs smell like, haha just asking :^)

Remove Endless.

Most likely, after all, they did say that all the stuff isn't in yet.

Fuck the Cult!

Fuck me!

Have a victory screen fellow convert

And now i bring you more pictures.
Pictures of spiderman Tau favors.
Fire, water, earth and air.

Also more proper pics of the Tau cruisers.

Also worth a note is that aux ships can only get water favors on them and they don't change the hull coloring at all.

Don't mind if I do

...

Honestly, I never reflected how poorly that worked out. Once it is laid out bare like that, its fucking ridiculous that the Tau are still around.

As for Endless Space 2, it looks like space battles will be again completely pointless with this new system. Something to watch if you hit some big climatic battle, but not something to have anything to do with more than once or twice.

Also so anons posted Star ruler mega.nz/#!wUM21RKY
and Distant worlds universe a few threads ago in case anyone didn't see them
mediafire.com/download/a8t93dwxw9qjlmv/sr-distantworldsuniverse.iso

that is strangely arousing.

Got any videos of the space battles, user?

I wanna bury my face in those spacetits.

There is combat in this, just jump around a bit in it.

Cheers.
Have some skilled warriors.

I fucking hated those missions, the retards headon ramming orks. Pure frustration.

VOID COMBAT STRATEGY!

And also here are the collection of those zeon comics that user wanted in order this time from last thread

1st mangafox.me/manga/kidou_senshi_gundam_san/v02/c000.4/23.html

3rd mangafox.me/manga/kidou_senshi_gundam_san/v04/c000.3/2.html

Cheers user, i really appreciate this.

No worries m8

We Necrons now?

Will you become Unbound?

Just read up about them

Yes, we Necrons now.

So Necrons with boobs?

Boobcrons?

I liek this. Maybe a little too similar to Cravers and Cultists.

So endless space 2 is going into early access soon, any thoughts?

I'm kinda looking forward to trying it on one hand, but on the other >early access.

Don't all their games start in early access though?

I'm pretty sure they've done early access for all their previous ones

...

How is there
STILL
no porn of that huge titted
FUCK MACHINE
?!

Disgusting user.

Keep revealing your shit taste and doing my work for me.

Is there a video where that's from user?

I think it's here.

...

...

It's from the manwha "Sweet guy"
mangalife.me/read-online/SweetGuy

What's a manwha?

I respect robots.
I don't respect filthy xenos.

use this
nhentai.net/g/169548/

shameful

mistyped it, it's manhwa, and it's korean mangos.

...

those are 2 different things, user.

It's when filthy gooks try to copy Japanese picture books for autists

I see.

They are but I am implying that you shouldn't respect ayy robots.
They belong to filthy xenos and can not be trusted.

Sorry user, I have been busy

Nope, that's just a cinematic. Damn, I want more stats and shit.

Just like with Endless Legend's Cultists, amplitude is doing a faction creation contest for a pacifist ES2 race. This seems to be the one winning so far:

Pascifist Diplomats
"Speak Softly, but Carry a Big Stick."

and we made a full circle

i can wait

Nice try weeb. I bet you buy pocky and pretend they're little japanese penises when you put them in your mouth.

pretty retarded tbh

(checked)
I only speak the truth.

What is a pocky?

but i dont like the force peace and force alliance abilities

From the contest. I think some things changed with the Cultist proposition to the Cultist faction.

Oh that explains it, it's a user made proposal faction

I respect it hourly.

Got the others?

games2gether.com/endless-space-2/votes/109-faction-creation-contest-design-phase-voting-time

Voting ends September 25th. They don't seem to be listed in order of votes, aside from 1st place.

RESPECT THE ROBOT

...

The votes are the points, each member of the forum gets points the more involved they are with the process, so when you vote you vote the amount of points you've gathered so far.

thanks

...

I thought the exact same thing
Where is this faggot's tumblr? Also, it's losing by almost double points to the trees. I actually like the idea of being a sneaky tree fuck and getting others to fight my battles for me.

You mean like those trees from earthbound?

You mean like a jew?

They covered jews pretty well in Endless Legend

I believe its become traditional around here to post this webm when discussing Trek.
I have been playing STO since january, has anything interesting happened since then plot wise?
Is the new kirk era starting stuff interesting?
Any new ships that are actually worth grinding for?
Is the new captain skill system completely borked?

Basic game theory pepe, or are you telling me to pity pixel goyim? It's also why I warmonger a lot, always better to gain a city and deprive an opponent of one at the same time.

Yep.

Dang it, wrong webm.

Looks like Weatherkin (2nd place) are listed last because the author violated rules about advertising his proposal and kept having friends bump his threads, saying that parts of the contest are unfair.

Good on you, random faggot. Not what I would've made, but you earned your little fifteen minutes of fame.

That's some quality justice.

Of course he did, typical socjus fuckwit. Almost would have liked it in there so I could curbstomp them as the Vodyani.

Good on Amplitude for having some balls and not just caving.

He's a pretty cool guy nasarog, he is one of the dudes who created exploremiante (explorminate.net/ )if you know the blog. They focus on reviewing and talking about 4x games.

Reading more of this, seems pretty unique, they raze themselves if you take one of the planets because they would rather die than be slaves. Might be cool.

Also, someone should point out that his use of the word "Empire" is problematic.

I actually read explorminate.

Where does it say nasarog is the author (DevilDogFF)?

Uhh, now i'm uncertain, if devildog is nasarog or not. both of those guys are exploreminate guys anyway.

I do see a nasarog in the comments section of the contest, so they are not the same person.

@1:30

=^]

What are we looking for?

bloody immigrants, thats wot m8

Is this pretend to be right wing false flag or are you just having a giggle? other cultures don't just disappear when you anschluss them ;^)

it'll be interesting to see if they have the 'gas the space joos' option like stellaris

Not too far out of the realms of possibility. The Cravers take slaves, and the Vodyani in that video want to cleanse the galaxy to make it habitable (read the Vodyani immigrant screen). If swedes have the balls surely these guys would?

This could be good if it's handled in a realistic and/ or not completely biased way.

I'm pretty sure I saw them give an option in one of the gameplay videos, though it might be a Craver special option to eat the conquered population

Also, it looks like the Tau have an ability no other race has.
Prior to mission start they can select which sorta engagement mode they go in.

What fucking bullshit!

Tau greater strategists than Astartes!

HERESY

...

Your point?

Also, just looking at it, Kauyon is going to be Tzeentch tier useless compared to Mont'ka

The average Astartes strategist couldn't wipe their ass without consulting the Codex.

This is still bullshit.

Playing multiplayer nowadays is suffering. You are either stuck with reddit, tumblr or retarded 12 years old, which are part of the first two groups.

...

So what sort of strategy is there available in the gendum universe besides gihren's greed and the homeworld mod?

That gundam mod for spring rts

Seems pretty neat but I don't think any of the download links I found work anymore.

Found this in a video.

How much strategy is there in "Giant robots beat everything else" with a variation of "One of a kind hightech prototype with angsty teenaged pilot beats armies of everything by itself"?

Combined arms is about as useful in gundam as it is in battletech, mobile suits are actually kind of vulnerable on the ground and they really only shine in space with their AMBAC systems. Eitherway there's a reason any of those type of games focus on the one year war or early UC before it turned into angsty newtype slapfights flying around in sparkling abominations. You should watch 08th MS Team if you want a good example of gundam done without the super robot flair.

THANKS MARK

...

But my point is that pretty much all gundam made since the 80ies has been getting ever more heavy on the super robot flair. And any gundam fans who are working on a mod are going to be under a lot of pressure from other gundam fans to include the super robot crap that will thus inevitably drown the endgame of any strategy game based on the property.

Then you give it the supreme commander treatment and make gundams or any of the super mobile suits the equivalent of experimental units.

Have some Demiurg ship.

They remind me more of the Broken Lords from Endless Legend, if they decided to go pure vampire and forget about their knighthood stuff. I, too would like to see more lewds involving them

That was some good 40k banter.

I remember that time.

How's the combat in Amplitude games? I can very rarely get into GSs because the combat is either map painting or something very uninvolved.

...

Or if their knighthood was based around their vampirism.

ES 1 is ok, EL is miniatures. In Endless Legend, if you have more upgraded units you are more likely to win (unless you're fighting goddamn Necrophage.) I don't know about ES 2, but it'll probably be similar to EL.

Is it worth going through the older X games or should I just jump to the latest ones? I've been playing through the first one a bit and I'm finding it okay but pretty tedious since I'm limited to one ship.

I'd say jump straight to 3, you can play terran conflict if you like but albion prelude is pretty much the most complete game with a bulk of the mod support. Just don't fucking play rebirth whatever you do.

Pretty cinematic and therefore turns into boring shit

ES2 is ES1 but you select formations now.

Well that's better than glorified rock-paper-scissors.

You don't have to watch. :^)

holy shit

guys, help me out. I want to be able to play as a smuggler in a space game, and Elite Dangerous just doesn't cut it in that department. Please help

Escape Velocity Nova, smuggle illegal shit and try not to get scanned.

dam can't keep track of what they do anymore cause the new site is pretty ass if you ask me pretty cool hey more tits can't go wrong there.

...

...

Gonna log in just to vote trees. Holy shit….

We need to vote for trees.

Remember that Amplitude will most likely edit and refine these heavily. I like the sound of tree-ships just for the Hyperion-vibe.

Time to uninstall

what race would Holla Forums make?

I remember when people thought they we're going to love X-com too because of snake tit waifus. Didn't pan out well.

Does this DLC fix the awful AI?
Also why do I fucking suck at endless space, granted I haven't played it in ages. I remember it being brutal, and tedious as fuck.

I thought about a few races but I usually realized that there's already something similar in the lore. The more unique idea was doing basically broken lords mixed with quarians and see how that turned out…

I don't think anyone is looking at this with anything but hesitance.

dats racist!

Holy fuck user

ES has one of the worst snowballing effects I've ever seen in 4x games.

Just looking at that is already giving me back problems.

You're the one with shit taste, though. Fuckin' niggerloving faggot.

how will weebs recover from this

meh

This isn't what humans look like. This isn't what humans are supposed to look like. They look like deformed mutants also niggers.

Is there any space game about being a mechanic
I want to repair mechs and shit

Oh sorry here you go sir

Koko looks fatter than normal.

Rude

...

is she fat now or a genetic fridge?

Dumping pics of a space battle cruiser I've just finished.

I could go for this

What's wrong with Rebirth? I'm seeing absolute awful scores for it everywhere, but I don't have any experience with the X series to know what would it make it so horrible compared to the previous ones.

Doesn't the AI cheat like a little bastard in hard and above difficulties? They pump out ships like nothing during the first 20~ turns and completely disregarding any sort of approval rate while most people are busy trying to improve their empire/approval rate.

Snek was the only thing Xcom 2 had going for it. Everything else was just bad/mediocre and anybody who payed attention would have noticed it, people seem more skeptical of ES2 than anything else. It still is a nice set of tits though.

the results of coal burning

post space jerks

In action

You called?

...

That's a lot of dakka

...

Sup

because you couldnt marry the lady snake or recruit them

they wanted the console audience, but couldnt make it for some reason, so they release it on the PC only and it turned out to be a piece of shit that is nothing like the other X games, you only fly one ship and your crew if ugly as sin.

The fuck are you talking about? That guy is cool as fuck!

...

Is that a rat in her tits?

Not as cool as this piece of ass.

Ew, woman leaders.

She ain't Heingst but then fortunately she isn't Winters or Hudson either. I feel bad for those SOBs.

Remove Feds
Corporatist whores out

It's Victorian, bruv

Best leader has arrived. Cheaper ships and parts for everyone bitches.

I confess he's pretty alright. I like him more than Mahon, they are both business people but AIS drives me up the fucking wall. Must be all the damn hippies.

He will be swallowed

how dead is the sword of the stars?

Nah, his shit is nice and cheap. He'll be hard to dislodge.

Sort of surprised the poo in the loo is still going, out of the 10.

They could literally turn every combat pilot in the bubble to them with a well paid goal. Ignoring that, the money they donate to most of the Fed reps insures they can do pretty much whatever they want.

Can't fight the space jew.

I should have stuck with boxes and triangles.

if it works, why give a fuck?

Very, unfortunatetly.
Mecron and crew blew any goodwill they had with SotS 2 along with most of their fans, leaving only diehard fundies on their forum. And that forum was always bad for them to begin with. The levels of smug they gave off where suffocating when I was a regular poster there and I can't imagine they will have gotten better by the company becoming failures at everything they do since, while the fundies continue to sing them praise.
A shame, really. I still play SotS.

I think this pic is supposed to show the greatmother, by I'm not sure.

Just started playing Freelancer. Holy shit I had no idea this game would be so good. Sure, the combat is a little bit shallow, but god damn.

This game is awesome.

Are there any games like it worth playing?

Also, in terms of actual proper combat mechanics, has anything surpassed Freespace 2 yet?

I guess that was my first hypergiant or whatever the fuck that thing was. My skeleton nearly got away from me for a second there, christ.

That's the fucking T-1000, and you know it.

but they released Sword of the Start: The Pit, I thought they were not THAT dead. Damn I really like the lore behind the game

Star Citizen will surpass it

That's what I want too, but do you honestly believe it'll succeed? The odds aren't good.

Do you also believe in Santa Claus, user?

If you don't want to die from a stroke before you get to the other side of the galaxy, kill your throttle while you're in the hyperspace pipe. You'll come out at nice, safe 30kms.

Just be careful around close binary systems, regardless.

That is a shame. I tried SotS 2 before the original and gave up. I'm playing the original now and it's a gud 'un. I am awful at the tactical combat though, must suck to be in my Solforce.

How would you perform surgery in zero G?

I don't even want to think about exsanguination in 0g environments. Talk about painting the room red.

That's some damn good advice, and I've already started doing so. Thanks, user.
Now I just need to get rid of this irrational fear of brown dwarf stars and I'll be sorted.

...

Would the Russians fuck us over if they ever contact aliens first?

...

Heretic

why? they aren't even half as scary or big as stars that actually ignite hydrogen

Is throwing a space colony at South America worth it if it lands in Australia?

Nah mate, they already get destroyed by us kiwis in the rugby.

If you want some real stellar butt-puckering, fly close to a black hole. It's hard to manage getting close to one at any jumpdrive speed.

I kind of liked Torval to start out with and certainly still place her at a higher tier over Aisling always, but she's a little too self interested.

That's like nuking Detroit. No one would notice.

It's just the way they're presented in the game - they're just these dark shadows that leap out at you. Every time I FSD into a brown dwarf system, I see nothing for a second and think "that's weird", and then suddenly this dark sphere swoops at my face.
It's silly, I know, but it unsettles the shit out of me. It's not all bad, though, because it certainly wakes me the hell up if I was dozing off at the stick.

What the fuck does that even mean?

Not sure if it changes with difficulties, but the AI has an issue of keeping their command ships too close to combat, if you remove them, reinforcements can't spawn in the middle of combat, making the team you are fighting essentially fucked if you keep your command ship near enough to reasonably reinforce your fleet and focus fire.

I'm pretty sure this tactic is easily countered by good play by human players and certain techs.

How would you set a border in space and would adding a wall to the border effectively make your territory into one giant dyson sphere?

Depends on the available technology. Sublight speeds are a pretty damn effective wall by themselves in relativistic space. And both conventional and space-warping drives could be susceptible to minefields (which, while they would be massive, would only need to be placed along likely travel routes).

Now any mode of travel that is extra-dimensional, such as wormholes or "hyperspace" make that much more difficult. However you could erect planetary/asteroid-situated defenses to intercept any in-system threat when you are dealing with that kind of technology. That was actually a premise in the Ringworld books, asteroid-based mining lasers defeated a enemy humanity fought in an intergalactic war.

Australia is still part of Earth.

What's the new Robigo in terms of mad dosh for realistic amount of work?
I'm in no mood to spend a hundred hours farming delivering sewage from Sothis to kit my conda which I will never fly because I got bored of the game grinding for it

Is there an entry in Endless Space 2 of Space lolis?

kek

It would be like trying to mine the entire pacific ocean to stop people from Indonesia getting to the US. Only you have to cover an area several orders of a magnitude bigger to do that for just one planet, many orders of a magnitude above even that if you want to safeguard a group of planets.
Its really not pratical unless your FTL magic limits travel to specific gates or corridors.
A better solution would be a coastguard of a sort. Since there's no hiding in space without reality warping handwavium technology, it wouldn't be hard to spot any ship coming or going and dispatching someone to inspect it. And it would give your military something to do in peace time.

Is the new elite truly euro truck in space with not even a little x3/eve?

Yes.

I've been playing Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander recently and am liking it so far. It has the art style of FTL combined with a turn-based combat system. I like it so far but I can also see how it can get repetitive.

I haven't really kept up with all the sci-fi 4x games.

The ones I played last (and still play) are basically Master of Orion 2 and Alpha Centauri.

Can someone kindly give me the low down on what has been released in the last 10 years and what's upcoming that is actually good? I'm tempted to get Distant worlds Universe but would like to focus on just one game so if something else is better and/or coming out soon that looks more promising I would like to know.

Lots of talk about the upcomming Endless Space 2 coming soon. the first one is probably the most recent 4x game.
Other games with checking out are Sword of the Stars (the original, not the sequel. The sequel is a half finished buggy mess that was abandoned by the development crew), Sins of a Solar Empire.

Gal civ 2 is pretty good, though combat in that one is just watching your ships fly around and shoot at enemies till someone explodes first.

Sword of the stars is pretty good one also, the combat in that one is real time and you can blow individual ship sections and weapons on enemy ships by clicking those parts specifically.

Sword of the stars 2 is an abortion of a game, avoid.

Endless space was pretty fun in my opinion.
Space combat in that one is something that divides people though, some like it and others hate it due to it being almost the same as in Gal civ 2, but with you being able to somewhat control it by choosing action cards which make your ships to either divert more power to shields or weapons or use special warheads or something else.
Also you can choose prior to battle if your ships concentrate fire on one ship at a time, 1/3rd of the ships at a time or just fire at will at everything, also you can choose your "formation" by ordering some ships to be at front and they are chosen by health, size or armor.
You can still affect the fight while in it, but only the next turn of it.
Combat happens in 3 turns, the long range turn, mid range turn and close range turn where different weapons are at most or least powerful depending on range with kinetic weapons mostly being strongest while at close range, beams being mid range weapons and missiles being long range weapons.

Space Empires 4 Gold.
…
That's it. Nothing else of note has happened since 2006 (and SE4 was already out for a little bit at that point IIRC). Very little that is upcoming or current to within the last 2.5-5 years looks to be any good, including the MOO reboot. Then again own but have not tried SOTS.

She can survive a full frontal crash with those airbags.

The only time I randomly happened across one, I was on my way back from my first long exploration trip in a rickety hastily-assembled Type-6.
I'd been exploring for hours and was nervous as hell inching up on that black hole until I could scan it. Actually getting close enough to see the lensing would be nice, but I didn't want to risk my profits, and I was already nervous enough anyway. I've got Space Engine installed for true stellar terror, too.

I think they should enhance the black hole experience in ED, though. Scanning range of black holes is pretty close to the thing, probably within the border of where an accretion disk would normally be, so I feel like they should add sounds like metal stress and metal fatigue, maybe a stray bolt sliding across your deck, that kind of stuff, to show the gravitic stresses your ship is enduring.

Maybe that stuff is already in, and I just didn't get close enough.

Just pilot your old sidewinder directly in. My days of Robigo smuggling have given me the money to have a few junk ships stored for things like this

But, the gravity well of a black hole is based on its mass, and its mass is no greater than that of a big star, its just condensed into a smaller area.
To get all the fun effects of a black hole, you'd have to get so close to it that if it where still a star, you'd be flying around under its surface. The event horizon on a black hole is only going to be a few kilometres across and the accretion disk wouldn't be more than a few thousand, unless your black hole is on size with the one at the centre of the galaxy or something.

I could, but I'll wait until I have enough money to burn to sacrifice an Asp instead. I've been spoiled by this thing's jump range, and no longer want to putter my way out to a black hole at sub-10ly per jump.

Yeah, that's a good point. It'd still be cool for them to exaggerate it for flavor, but it's true that gravitational tidal forces don't become noticeable until you're already well within the event horizon.
I'm hoping that with the Thargoids and their rumored method of travel that utilizes black holes as wormholes, that eventually ED will get some kind of module that lets you jump from one black hole to another, maybe only direct A-B connections and maybe even only one-way at that, but it'd still be really cool to explore the opposite side of the galaxy without having to spend 12 real-time hours watching frame jump loading screens.
I'd be interesting to see another bubble start to grow out in some distant part of space as a result. Maybe the Alliance packs its bags and heads off through a black hole somewhere with all of their retro-engineered alien tech.

That makes me wonder, though: does the bubble actually expand? I remember screenshots a year or more ago of enormous federation industrial ships carrying huge pre-fab pieces of a Coriolis station off somewhere to construct a new one, which is neat, but is that just flavor or are new stars actually constantly being colonized? Is the bubble significantly larger now than it was when the game launched? Provided the game lasts another 10 years, will the bubble eventually reach as far as Barnard's Loop?

Not all black holes have accretion disks though, although those that close orbit stars should. But Sag A* would not for example.

Anyway, if they are going through the bother of fixing white dwarfs up, then other stellar objects could use another pass too.

There's a slow outward expansion, but the main means for deep expansions have been CGs.

Thank you fellow human.

I made a thing.

user, what the absolute fuck are you doing?

so it wasnt my toaster laptop?

Youtube was outplaying in the background. And the white privilege song does sound pretty good when listening to it as if it was not ironic.

As for the frame drops, a lot of it was trying me rendering it to fit the size limit. These were over 80mb and I couldn't figure out how to lower it without making it shit.

nu andrew jackson jihad is such shit

The game does have some performance hitches here and there, but nothing that severe. A normal hitch is a half-second pause while the game calculates a huge collision.

Ah, yeah, that'd do it. The game's already CPU intensive, so clogging your processor tubes with rendering fluid would probably do that.

it better not have denuvo!

Holy fuck that framerate.

Thankfully one of my fetishes is "dumb slutty fuckmonster"

You aren't far off.

Also what the fuck is wrong with Holla Forums at the moment?

Dunno, also i made a newer version a bit more properly, should be a bit bigger and easier to read too.

Suddenly, the alien design in Marathon makes more sense now.

(Epic quads checked)
While GW has always had a proud history of stealing symbols for their alien languages and symbols, this one is perhaps older than Marathon.
marathon.bungie.org/story/thatmarathonsymbol.html

That's really interesting. I'd never realized how ubiquitous that symbol was.

worst 9/11 ever

I never thought that the Tau played similar to the line battles in LOTGH until now. They're only missing guided torpedoes and they play very similarly and the ability to turn without moving forward and they play very much like they do in the 2008 game.

The tau missiles are guided.
Also the line battle mainly referred to two things.
First of all the mass of blue streaks caused by ion cannons and gauss cannons and the second one is that you need to always face your enemy or get anally blasted by enemy fire.

How shit is Star Trek Online?

Do you like being swarmed with lock boxes?

Before Level 50? Not too bad to be honest.

After Level 50? Prepare to grind more than an autistic Chinese coffee addict.

Would the thrustmaster x be good for ED? I'm also planning on using it with arma 3 as well.

Most Thrustmaster and CH sticks are ideal from what I've heard. Although personally if that's the HOTAS X I would personally not use it as the throttle connected to the main controls seems less than ideal for that game. 12 buttons is just about enough though, so its up to your taste and pocket book.

>"IT'S TOO BAD YOU COULDN'T MAKE THE DELIVER IN 12 SECONDS FAGGOT. MAKE SURE YOU STILL DELIVER MY STUFF THOUGH THANKS."

This. The only reason I still give a shit about STO is the design of some of the Tier 6 ships that look like a mix up of modern sci-fi and a hint of 50's retro styling thrown in (it's obvious on the Tier 6 Escort Carrier's nacelles and cannon hardpoints).

Oh and the uniforms, they finally made decent and varied uniforms for Starfleet for the first time in nearly 30 years

No, the costume design is fine too, especially over the last two years or so. It's definitely a nice progression from the late Voyager era.

The grind wasn't too bad until about Season 8-ish though (Season 5 was pretty comfy in fact). What killed it for me was fucking Midnight.

My nigga.

You do not want to get me started on how retarded the Iconian War was, or most of the Delta shit where the game took a downward spiral and it took Cryptic till the late Spring to even try to salvage it when a fuckton of people just stopped playing

Get fucked Gene

What was the reason behind that, anyway? I remember there being something about their uniforms being so futuristic that you can just stick anything to them anywhere and it stays there, and you can "unzip" them in any direction you want at any point on them, and all kinds of other ridiculous deepest lore stuff.

grimdark is mary sue

Star Citizen

Why did you make a blank post, user?

What did he mean by this?

Well from the beginning they always pulled shit like tricorders and communicators from a backpocket and the phasor was tucked in the belt as opposed to being "snapped" on to it like the cadets in pic 2. Plus in TOS someone like the Yeoman or Chekov carried a messenger bag or a purse to carry bigger equipment. I figured that if you want to carry a lot of gear for specialty missions (especially in the MMO where you're chucking bombs, turrets, miniature torpedoes, mines, nanite juice, and tribbles) that it would be appropriate to break out the harnesses and pouches

Yeah, pockets and satchels make sense even in a future setting for sure. I'm just trying to remember what all the insane lore behind the TNG uniforms was. I feel like there was some huge document or maybe interview with Gene where he was just rattling off an autistic list of mary sue abilities they had.
Stuff like self-tailoring, self-repairing, almost indestructible because they're some kind of cloth-like metal (even though they always rip them to make bandages and shit) and so on.

Turn on anti-gravity. Duh.

Or, rather, turn gravity on.

...

Not quite sure about the TNG pajamas, but it should be noted that the outfits with the obscene amounts of pockets like Kirk's coat and the Tactical outfit from the MMO are called "Excursion Uniforms" and they're meant to be for long term missions that would last for hours to weeks as opposed to the brief beam down to the planet they usually do. So they probably carry food and other essentials in those Excursion kits.

The third (((Kelvin Timeline))) film finally gave a new decent looking uniform that wasn't nostalgia pandering or Nazi cosplay but for whatever reason Kirk and friends have to make do with some kind of motorcycle outfit

They're trying to be hip and cool and jive so all the cool cats watch their movie, user. All of the market surveys show that kids love motorcycles, after all.

They do? All the faggots in my age group balk at the idea of riding and go "ITS DANGEROUS user A NURSE TOLD ME BIKERS ARE CALLED ORGAN DONORS!!!" and the only people who are consistently fine with it are dudes twice my age

It's like one of my only other hobbies and I still can't avoid the no-fun rhetoric from my peers. I'm never going to be allowed to enjoy things in peace aren't I?

RESPECT THE ROBOT

I don't have the foggiest idea if kids like motorcycles or not. From what I remember of being a teenager myself, they're inconsistent and contrarian - they like everything they're told not to like, and hate everything they're told not to hate.

What this guy said.

The best way is having mobile assets and detectors that can intercept anything that tried to enter.

But again, depends on FTL travel method and restrictions.
If you have a warp/jump drive, can you use it anywhere to jump anywhere? Or only at specific points (jump point, LaGrange points or whatever they are called)? In close proximity to a large stellar body? What are the energy requirements? How long does it charge? Etc…

Who you're playing at?

The best defense is good offense. Instead of a huge doomfleet, have a few tiny scout fleets and 2-3 strike fleets and just hit and run.
Glass the colonies, run away. Rinse and repeat.
It is murder for enemy economy, especially if you nuke the colonies but don't kill everyone. Leave some pop and watch as the enemy burns money trying to terraform the planet back and clean the radiation.

You can bring large empires to their knees that way. Humans are best for this tactic because:
a) node drives FAST
b) fleets in nodespace invisible without research
c) can't intercept fleets in nodespace even if you see them (unless you're another human or Zuul)
d) NODE MISSILES. Mass produce and artillery barrage enemy planets from the comfy safety of your systems

Humans are for aggressive players because humanity in SOTS is all like : YOU FUCKED WITH THE WRONG MAMMAL, ALIEN! VENGEANCE IS A BITCH! CHOKE ON MY GIANT SPACE GUN!

Except the nodedrives are the most strategically limited drives in the game. You may be fast, but you are on rails and you can't leave those rails unless you want to be the, by far, slowest faction in the game.
You may be able to dash down a nodeline to raid an enemy world, but unless you are fighting a retarded AI, the enemy will have fortified that world and parked any doom fleets that aren't busy burning your worlds to a cinder there, because they know its the only world you can get to.
Tarka or late game Morrigi are far better at hit and run raids on enemy colonies, since they have no real limits on where they can go. With high level engines they can basically hit anything within 12+ lightyears, which will easily be 6 or 7 other worlds.
Also, noone needs tech to see the humans in nodespace. The monkies are just fast enough that you don't usually see the fleets sitting between planets outside of the early game where your sensors won't see far enough to spot them anyway. Past the early gameplay, intercepting is meaningless since it requires your target be in space for several turns, and only the hivers do that, so again, no real advantage for the monkies.
What monkies do best in SotS is rush. You can blitz out to all the good planets and grab them before the enemy even knows they are there and you can blitz an early fleet of missile cruisers to the enemy's homeworld to blast all that irreplaceable infrastructure back to hell along with his entire economy before turn 30. This is how humans win against other players.

If you want to learn how to play the game on easy mode, just play Morrigi and get all the best versions of the good sections and all the super tech, or play hivers and spam those gateships/colonisers to pull one of those neat tricks where the slowest faction in the game suddenly can expand faster than anyone else.

The strongest shit for the Delta stuff was the neural parasites, that whole plot was pretty damn tight and explained a lot of shit nicely. They would have been just fine by themselves.

As far as the Iconians, before Delta they had some interesting writing. The Iconian War the whole thing completely fell apart I agree, but it could have been a least mediocre if they didn't choose an ending that people on the STO forums were saying was top shelf retarded way before it became reality (this coming from a location on the net not known for its high intellectual capacity).

I'll give you the Bluegill since that was pretty solid even though it was another excuse to the list of nonsensical reasons why the Vaudwaur are ebil and the Kobali (who are basically organic borg who use a virus instead of cybernetics to assimilate people). The Bluegill should have dominated the Delta Arc and afflicted a majority of them and keep the Kobali a one note faction like everyone else.

But the real problem with Delta was how they fucked the game up beyond recognition. The Tier 6 and Tier 5-U was a layer of powercreep and that probably would have been fine if that was the only real game changer, but then they split the PVE queues into Normal-Advanced-Elite where half the missions didn't even have an Elite version (mostly ones people played all the fucking time like the Crystalline Entity and Infected: The Conduit) and Advanced was made a fuckton harder despite their original statements saying it would be like what Elite used to be. And on Advanced missions they made it where not completing an optional objective would automatically fail the entire mission. There were also missions that were bugged for the longest time where these "optionals" failed for no reason and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Then to add insult to injury, even if you do everything right and complete the "optionals" you only got half the rewards for 5x the effort you have to put in it. As a result, the queues and the people playing the game overall tanked and Cryptic refused to do anything about until the following spring/early summer.

Morrigi get fucked hard by piracy. Any kind of attack flags an area as unsafe. If an area is unsafe, it doesn't do trade, and Morrigi are reliant on space trade compared to all the other factions. Plus, Morrigi ships are expensive compared to their weight class, which makes setting up defenses that are worth a damn harder compared to other empires, and losing trade ships is more expensive.

Liir do more of the super tech bullshit, without the drawback of their economy being fragile.

Yeah the Kobali shit was pretty poorly written. It would have been a better look if it was much more strongly intimated that the only reason Alpha Quadrant wasn't /ovens/-ing them was due to political convenience (need more shock troopers, just scrag some enemy soldiers and pop a virus needle in them). But at the beginning they had jack shit in terms of security so that doesn't even hold water.

Early T6 was close to fucking useless and was only starting to become good around the time I left. That was probably what in part ruined Elite PvE in space since you had these retard high powerlevels after they switched that back on that no one could kill. Also the rewards for all the hassle were garbage as well, it should have been a big fucking payday and instead it was shit.

So basically you are entirely right. I mean I don't mind the base concept of changing around PvE from S5-7 style since it was getting pretty stale (I could do old ISE in my fucking sleep towards the end, and was frequently put TO sleep during it) but they just completely fucked it up.

In one of the old /vg/ threads here someone mentioned that STO's code base is pretty much incomprehensible and any new features they add are pretty much miraculous feats even if they do break 50% of the stuff currently in the game. From that perspective their inability to rapidly repair problems comes into greater clarity, although they should have set aside a Season or half-Season just for refactoring and cleaning up the codebase.

Against players yes, the Morrigi have disadvantages they need to overcome. The main advantage of the Morrigi is that while their shit is more expensive than others, its also flat out far better. Better PD, More spinal beams. More torpedoes. More large turrets for those hillariously game breaking Messon Beams that are practically impossible to get for everyone else except for the Liir who never get enough turrets to make proper use of them. Better placement for Projectors and shield sections. The fastest ships in the game, able to outrun even Zuul ships, only without the fragility the Zuul suffer from.
Just look at a Battlebridge/War/AM cruisers turret layout, or an Assault/Barrage cruisers sheer number of beams for spamming.
And all you need to get this shit rolling is that trade you also mentioned as their main drawback, that is the kind of drawback that, if they can keep a sector or two clear of enemy colonies, lets them make far more money than anyone else as well.
Against an AI that can't wrap its processors around the idea of preventing enemy trade, its basically a win button.
Every other race has some crippling drawback, but the Morrigi is the only race to have a drawback that can be made into their biggest advantage if their opponent isn't proactive enough.
And they also have the ability to fly nearly 3 times as fast as anyone else in the late game if you have a doomfleet of sufficient size.

At least the Liir suffer from excruciatingly low pop growth, ships made of tissue paper and armed with next to nothing until they get their specialised ships.
And they are the slowest faction in the early game on top of that.
The result is the Liir being extremely vulnerable to early aggression and slow expanders who are all but useless until their supertech starts coming in, while a fun challenge for experienced players, is not the easiest of starts for new players.
