AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You're a month too early to chili, OP
Dude, now I'm craving and these trips mmmmmhm
Already had a burger tho
...
does it have anime titties like the first one?
...
Liked the first one, pretty skeptical about the second one thus far… Not gunna get hyped, every game I get moderately hyped for comes out the door shit, with glaring issues baked into the game even after the initial ones are fixxed
for anyone interested in a more in depth look at the game. It shows quite a bit of the game as well as how the procedural environments work. It's totalass cancer take on it
No.
So you don't have friends. Fuck you.
That I'll give you.
funny I started playing Shadow Warrior 2013 for the first time, for some reason.
it's ok-to-mediocre. the attempted RPG layer makes the combat sloggy and the melee is spam-clicking. I like the dodge mechanic.
Shadow Warrior 2 looks better.
The first one was shit and had nothing to do with old school shooters.
I seriously doubt things will change with the sequel.
kill yourself.

YOU HAVE TO GO BACK
Procedural environments in my FPS is bad.
when a game is made inherently around it, it's awful.
I have friends, but none that play video games so fuck you too.
We're on agreement with that pre-order at least.
it's not "random heightmap" procedural, it stitches authored terrain sections together. sorta like Spelunky. it's a great idea, more games should do it.
There's a mod for Doom that generates levels by procedurally generating them.
While it doesn't give you that crispy well-crafted levels you get on regular wads, it makes for a nice experience where you can't know what you're gonna find and must react to it instead.
It's not better, it's just a different way to make levels.
Most roguelikes feature procgen so players can't just memorize the levels and provide replayability, making the gameplay instead of the levels memorable.
Essentially, it's the difference between Baldur's Gate and Nethack.
Left4Dead was made around co-op and it's great.
Gauntlet was also made for co-op and it's great.
There are many games made specifially for 4-player parties that are quite good often because of that.
You have no friends, stop lying to yourself.
...
You're still off. Watch the TB footage. It's large chunks that are shuffled together into a map. It's still designed separately for each level.
mite b cool.
Borderlands was shit
No argument there.
I highly disagree with your opinion user for the simple fact it was beyond shit
this, it's a bunch of authored, hand crafted "mini-levels" that attach at the borders in to a full level. all the good of random, you aren't walking the same memorized path after the first run, and the best of hand level crafting.
watching the TB video, it's refreshing to see a good shotgun in a game.
the shotgun looked lame as fuck broski
You'd have a point if the first game in the reboot of shadow warriors was a co-op focused game. It wasn't, it focused on a single player experience. Now they're changing it because they want the borderlands audience.
Why did they force RPG elements on it? It was good enough as an action game.
Please don't call meme games "role-playing games".
the pump animation is slightly weak, but it has good feedback and damage. maybe my standards have dropped.
Shadow Warrior 2013 already had RPG elements. they were shoehorned, made the game worse. this is much better, does fun things like weapon effects.
god damn it my only wish was that the new shadow warrior was going to have solid map design.
they are bad often, but I can imagine and exception to the general rule
fuck that shit man
and it sucks
Do weapon effects even matter besides like maybe have numbers shoot out?
Didn't these fags go SJW a little while back?
the whole plot of the game is
remember when tumblr, 4chan, reddit, neogaf funnyjunk and so on tried to join forces in early august of 2014?
the freeze is a slow and shatter, lightning does something, fire does something, acid is damage over time, don't know what else there is. the visual effects were fun at least, it seems to have some rock-paper-scissors strategy to how you use it.
i hate the numbers-pop-out bullshit. it was an option in 2013, better fucking be in this one.
Okay so i think you're making an absurdly stupid under assessment of how much goes on in level deaign. All for the sake of avoiding repetition in repeat coop play throughs. I can go on for hours why you are a complete idiot and how once again flying wild hog is making another awful shooter, but I'll keep it simple.
You can't have consistent tests based on teaching players about new challenges or mechanics when the placement of level segments is randomized. Mechanics need to be simpler to deal with this and levels become back drops instead of what they are at their best in other games and other shooters.
If this is done just to create unpredictability, it is flushed away once you've been through every set of geometry once. Worse yet if they reuse them during the same playthrough of a level. At best you can change enemy placement or type, but FWH have shown total incompetence in this area.
This is a horrible concession to make for the genre. It's gonna be shit like the first one.
I think you mean
Why not also add a little ding or a click to make your hyperactive dog brain get excited? Holy fuck.
How was the first shadow warrior anyways? I picked up the original and I really liked it but I understand 2013 isn't that similar.
There is an SJW in SW2? Who?
Ive been wanting a good FPS Diablo-like game for awhile so hopefully this answers my prayers.
It's alright, it's in the same position of Wolfenstein where it wants to bring back some elements of what made old school shooters good but ultimately it's still a modern shooter and plays like one. Fortunately Shadow Warrior avoided the hitscan everything meme but the guns are pretty shit so most of your combat is with the sword, which is nice but not super great.
What I found to be very surprising was that the story and art direction were fantastic, they aren't exactly what I was looking for going into it but of course they weren't bad. There were some short walking simulator sections though and the fights with the big dudes were mediocre at best.
Solid 6.5/10, with the original being an 8/10 and COD4 being a 3/10 for reference. If you're bored and want something to do for a day I'd say pick it up on sale. When I got it, it was $2.50 and I hadn't even played the original at the time so I had no idea what to expect. I pretty much just thought it would be that one scene from Kill Bill vol. 1 and was not aware that the game involved demons or magic at all, you can imagine my surprise when shit first went down.
nope i'm out
heh
I've been interested in Painkiller but it seems that there are lots of editions and shit. What's the definitive edition for Painkiller?
Also I guess I'll give it a shot. Are guns just outright situational uselessness like with Zeno Clash or is the sword just too good while the guns are also useful?
Reminder that the original Shadow Warrior is now free on GOG.
really? i just thought it had an upgrade system
Reminder that Shadow Warrior kind of sucks and Duke Nukem 3D has a source port called "eduke32" and it's actually pretty good, can play almost every build game that's built on top of duke nukem's code like NAM except for Interplay's published Redneck Rampage.
Also don't forget about BLOOD
details?
Shadow Justice Warrior.
Welcome to the future, user.
Wow I'm convinced.

Kek. The original game had some forgettable ancient chinese secret plot that they ditched in favor for edge as soon as they saw duke nukem. The only fucking character the game had was in the humor. Without any of that, what's the point?
These people deserve to have an entire cactus shoved up their asses.
let's be honest here, the actual layout of the levels in nuSW barely impacted the actual gameplay aside from forcing you along a particular route. nuSW could have been set in the levels of Doom and the actual combat dynamic wouldn't have changed. I don't really think procedural generation for SW2 is a pro or a con, it depends on how it's used.
I like the original and would prefer if they had the balls to go through with keeping the old stuff, but it seems a bit much to shitcan a game for not doing so in $CURRENT_YEAR. Not everyone has the benefit of browsing imageboards/living outside of a city and going in with a more laid back set of postulates about what is permissible in games, movies, etc. Hell even if they did, if you were head of a team making a game that cost several million would you actually go for making a game the way you're suggesting? Keeping in mind that you might have a family, you could get fired and have your reputation ruined, so on and so forth. I think most average people aren't really this uptight about this kind of thing, but the few people who scream loudest about it and the examples of people they trample make everyone fall in line. It's easy enough to say you should break the trend when you're posting anonymously/with a username and risking nothing.
...
sorry but I need to post this
why did they turn it into borderlands
Thanks for this user. I didn't know. If I did I never would have redeemed that key from the bundle. Fucking hacks.
because they're hacks

Really? I'm actually kind of interested now.
Now Im super interested.
Who knows what it'll be like. It ain't out yet. Not like I can run it. My 2010 laptop is getting way too old.
Wait, you mean like in Payday or something? That was actually pretty dope, semi-randomized levels are fun to replay.
Holy shit guys, in this game you can SHOOT people and LOOT them afterwards!
It's like everything an immersive sim does, just like Deus Ex and System Shock 2! And probably Stalker too, but I tried it with LURK and couldn't get past the first area. No, they didn't kill me, the game just kept crashing.
Keep in mind this is Ben fucking Kuchera and he's going to emphasize the social justice aspects, such as by inserting "discard [the racial and sexist humor] elements". The dev didn't use those words, Kuchera did.
They changed the humour, they semi-modernized the game. This isn't enough to make me turn on the devs. I'm going to need a more hard example.
I also find it amusing that people call the female voice an SJW just because she's a shrill whiny bitch who's obviously supposed to be disliked.
It looks like a butchered version of the first reboot.
It was flawed but cool, it seems like they've made it worse instead of focusing on the strong points of the first title.
The original build engine game is one of my all time favorite games. The 2013 remake is basically a step in the right direction in term of fixing modern issues with FPS but boils down to fun Serious Sam style arena battles. Its biggest flaw was its absolutely lazy linnier map design that would dump you into another battled where waves of enemies would spawn. Its about on the same tier as nuDooM in that regard but with shittier graphics. Just play the original on DOSbox.
no joke, how can one company screw up a classic formula this badly. This was the one game that I was sorta looking forward to next to gravity rush 2 and Bloodstained**. The sad part is noralfags are probably going to make BorderlandsNinja a boat load of money because appeal to moderation cucks like Total AssCancer will sing its praises for being the "right way to be progressive".
>>>/out/
So how is Painkiller? And a bump.
Too bad Blood is trapped beneath the festering carcass of Atari.
