You had your home, your food, quality entertainment, music, cinema, books, theater, there's very low crime.

Every state in warsaw pact had some similarities, and yes, even with Laos, China or Vietnam, but, at least in soviet republics, every state had own government which regulated a lot things inside the country. Life in soviet russia != life in soviet moldavia.
