STALKER general

Caramello edition.

Someone post the pastebin, also someone tell me what mod to play. Is CoC Warfare good? Is that all I need for a good time? I've played SoC and CoP vanilla and with various overhaul mods in the past.

My fucking nigger, they are fucking delicious.

In Britain people judge inflation by the price of a Freddo. #britfacts

Update to 1.3.2 and only install things from this link, everything else will crash the game (more often than it already crashes):

DoctorX Questlines seems pretty good from what I've played of it, but I get the odd crash taking certain missions that I'm going to message X and try and iron out because it looks like he's fixed other missions that do it.

I've seen people shitting a brick all over the internet at the idea of multiple mods but I managed to install a fuckload of mods first attempt. All you need to do is read the readmes and use your brain. Obviously the game can go to shit if you start adding in half a mod and leaving the other half out, but the only conflict I've had so far is a system file (use winmerge to find the lines that are different and add them together), two shaders (one for Absolute and one for Particles, you can't merge these easily so I went with the particles because Absolute is just a texture revamp) and DoctorX and AO3, which if you read the DoctorX readme you'll find that he's added in more files in a subfolder that you rewrite over others.

Pics related, it's how my game looks now.

Is lost alpha good or shit?

Either this guy has a really strong hateboner for Freedom, or he just wants me dead.

Warfare can be pretty good if you don't mind your AI faction partners losing the outposts you capture every 5 minutes, other than that, it brings some variety to who controls what. Making for more interesting travels around the zone.
I wouldn't recommend it (from my experience) for actually wanting to conquer the zone though, it's an arduous task since it requires your squads to not fuck up. And that might prove difficult.

Holy shit nigger why.

Speaking of graphics, I'm looking for some graphic mods that work with CoC. Any suggestions?

Sweet fucking Jesus OP I'm struggling with my diet today and seeing that grinning yellow shirt wearing red koala fucker brought a tear to my eye.

I used to be paid for family tech support in party packs of Caramello Koalas.

They're pretty good

GUNSLINGER

WHEN

Hey man since you're doing DoctorX, do you happen to know where the heck I'm supposed to turn in the PDA's for military? I've not noticed anyone since I threw DX on with AO3. I figure AO3 is just the arms and ammo mod, so I'm pretty sure it's something with DX.

I mean, I still get the stashes marked on the map for me, but having a shit load of pda's laying around in a stash of my own somewhere is not too appealing for me.

You're right about mods though and decent ENB.

1.4 FUCKING WHEN?

Can't even finish the Witcher series while waiting because the last patch broke the mods I used.

is there any porn of him?

i'd fuck that koala

There's porn of Nomnom from We Bear Bears.

I wouldn't mind the more dynamic nature but there's too much spawning. I had mountains of corpses litering the bar because new stalkers would spawn every 2 minutes and I can't capture anything by myself.

The game won't let me capture anything by myself so no matter how hard I rambo in there and kill fucking everything I progress is painfully slow. Fucking gay nigga. Shit is worse than oblivion lost spawns.

1.4 is on internal test for a month, i wish they at least could give a list of the new things compared to the RC release.

Also OP, remember to put S.T.A.L.K.E.R. into the opening post as well, in case any anons don't look for Stalker at first.

But yeah warfare has it's ups and downs. Killing shit by yourself is terrible unless you have boys coming to keep the shit captured, personally I'd tell you to just ensure your common enemy (apparently clear sky has a bone to pick with military) to kill them off first, and though I can't vouch for it (As fun as it was rolling through the Great Swamp with 17 other military bros watching my back was incredibly fun) it isn't too bad. I definitely think it needed to be refined.

Also if you haven't tried Clear Sky vanilla yet give it a shot. SRP should be all you need.

I can't remember if I keep forgetting to set the depth before taking screenshots, or if the screenshots just completely ignores my changes. I normally take a few when I load up because I forget afterwards. It looks fucking awesome with FOV75 though.

I'm using Perfect Particles 3, Absolute Nature, Absolute Structures and Photorealistic Zone and Gore Mod. That's everything aesthetic. I chose not to copy the shaders file of Absolute (Structures? Might be Nature) and kept the PP3 version. If you're copying over Gore Mod and get a conflict you will have to use WinMerge, which for that is incredibly easy. AFAIR Gore Mod conflicts with AO3, but it's only 8 lines of code. You'll probably want to turn your blur in PRZ from 10 to 5 or you'll get those ridiculous blur marks you can see on my screenshots.

No idea, I haven't played too much because I've been busy and only took the screenshots to show off what what I was doing with CoC. Do you get errors starting some of the military missions? From what I've seen of others playing it there are some traders you talk to and you tell them you have some PDAs, they will buy them and maybe give you a stash location.

IKR, that's a side effect of Photorealistic Zone which also causes that awful OTT blur, but it looks so nice now I've turned the blur from 10 to 5. The authors advice for avoiding getting your inventory blurred is to look at your feet (muh bones), because that's how you look in a bag anyway.

For your question on the errors, yes I do. It was only one particular mission that I could see so far, but it's fine once it works, I think I reinstalled the post patch from AO3 and everything was fine afterwards. I still have a save just prior to speaking with the trader, just in case. Oddly enough, my particular trader right now won't accept PDA's, I still get the stashes showing up on my maps after picking them up (and putting them away) but I can't do anything with them afterwards. Might have just been an option I turned on without noticing, don't know.

I've only stumbled across one but it was one of the first from the trader. I think it was a patrol mission? I haven't had any luck taking it so does it become broken on some saves or is it pretty much random?

It sounds like the PDAs are different to how I thought they work so you probably have a better idea than me. I thought it was inside the conversations somewhere.

That is one of the missions that's buggy, like I said, try putting the DoctorX's AO3 patch into the folder again, and with any bit of luck, that should fix it. I've only accepted one or two other missions from him after that (mostly because I rove like an Irish Folk Song) but they worked after I threw the patch back in. I'm not sure if it's random, when I searched it up with Google, it seemed those with similar errors, made sure they had the most up to date version, and since mine was up to date, I just threw Dx AO3 patch into the folder again, hit yes on all file replacements, and it worked.

You are right on the PDA's working like you thought they worked. When I first had them the traders had a conversation option to basically hand them PDA's for stash info, but I think an option you can adjust in the files or options somewhere lets the PDA's reveal info without traders having to use them. Because otherwise, it is supposed to work exactly as you thought they were.

OP again.

So I think I've got CoC Warfare up and running, and relatively crash free. mods:

It's fairly stable and I've been enjoying wandering around but I wonder if I've fucked something up, because it seems like there are some weird bugs:

I think the zone is also more peaceful than it should be, so I'm considering tweaking the settings for bandit faction aggressiveness or something, so there's more fighting going on.

Any other mods I should check out that I can pile on top of this install?

kill me please

Which one, Yantar?

What is this?

It's Shadow of Chernobyl. The game where everybody in a 2 kilometer radius will instantly know your exact position if you load a saved game.
