3 is absolute shit performance-wise. This is a huge deal-breaker to me and I didn't buy any expansion pack. People who wasted thousandths of bucks on every TS3 DLC must be suffering to death, all of this shit is able tol kill your game no matter what hardware you have and nothing can be done about it. And didn't they also tried to sell their created families in store too?

I don't understand how anyone can defend this piece of shit. I would understand if TS3 worked fine without infinity loadings or constant crashes, I would forgive shitton of overpriced DLCs because EA and because piracy exist or that Sims are pretty ugly there, but what's the point of TS3 if you can't play at least all expansion packs? I honestly had more fun with vanilla TS4, although mostly because of CAS.

TS1 and TS2 are the only good TS games and even with these I'm not fully satisfied. Shame there will never be the best TS game with great features from previous games because EA own franchise. If only Maxis wasn't EA's bitch.

Yes. The game plays fine if you have two expansion packs or maybe three, when played with two I had no issues, although loadings were quite long, especially if when played the same family for a long time. If you install all of them, you probably won't be able to go outside of CAS because the game going to crash and simple loading will take plenty of time too, several minutes for sure, I think I had to wait for 10-15 minutes if not more. It doesn't help that even in CAS the game was slow as fuck because it need to load CAS items.

My favorite Sims game is the TS2. I really liked how animated everyone was and how cartoony and versatile their expressions were. Also, I really liked making people fight and hate each other. Too bad in the TS4 this seems really bogged down even to the point where person doesn't fight with their cheating partner as much as they should

I did that to myself because I had the money and I wanted to be able to download stuff from the gallery, if you have a pirated version that isn't up to date adding sims to your tray is a nightmare and it also takes a much longer time for a crack to be released than it does a patch, and most of the times the crack itself isn't even up to date

Passion is good if Kinkyworld gives you problems (which it will if you use a Patreon build or the recent release) and it allows for CLANG Custom worlds are a must just to avoid the glitchy EA worlds with poor routing. Core mods outside of NRAAS tend to be more trouble than they're worth

I use some of those and they're still shit to run on and most of the EA worlds are no fun so smaller scale custom worlds are much better for long term play

Basically the only reason you'd do so is if you want something that sort of looks like TS3 but doesn't run like ass. Otherwise there's lest than zero need to do it. In particular if you have all the stability and speed adjustments operational (including SSD and/or RAM Disk) it should run well enough.

TS3, writer. You can get to where you write one book a week, make massive royalty checks, and spend all the rest of your free time fucking around.

TS4, Programmer. Design your own programs and games, eventually you can just steal money from the internet. Though if you want something more fun and have the Get to Work expansion, scientist.

The best Career is Unemployed.

If you have Roaring Heights (probably not since it generally isn't included in the ALL EXPANSIONS torrents) for TS3 you can make 70500 or something profit by just restoring the junk car (only the looks are needed too) which takes like 3 workdays too with less need for "pre-work", Security/Law is traditionally the "best" starting job due having good pay at low levels, though it evens out at high ones while all your skills are 0, though you are generally better off quitting once you get shit up to snuff.

But seriously though, post-Sims 2 you don't even need to GIT GUD to reach a point where a family is rolling in cash, hell in 4 it is so easy that the "best" buyable shit is locked behind ACHIEVEMENTS rather then money since you can make shitloads just by lounging around the house and picking and planting berries with aprofit margin so large you can eventually hire a Gardener to do none of the work aside from harvesting and still make a profit.

Gitting gud is more being able to think of scenarios/stories and restricting yourself from the good shit, and making cool looking houses and venues that are also practical, seriously, a ton of good looking shit ends up being a mess in actual gameplay due the sims Pathing like retards and people not taking in account how crowded some places like resturants can (and should) get.

Business is the best career for long games. Get to the higher ranks and you can then buy businesses around town. You get a weekly profit from them that is far more than you can earn from any job. Plus rank 10 business work only about 9hours a week.

the sims 3 in particular was extremely ambitious with graphics, going as far as implementing reflective surfaces, mirrors that actually worked and even puddles that reflected, you have all the building aspects of houses, even leveling of terrain
and if I were to liken how the sim's work queue works to how entity tracking is done in the Love engine, for each entity spawned you create a new array, this array contains every detail about the entity and updates it on every render pass or it could be tied to the engine's main loop but that's discouraged, so for something as complex as a sim, it has to run updates within the array each time the array is updated, like for the sim deciding what to do next or pathfinding
then you have the issue of simulation, where you can't just put the world on hold while your sims live out their lives, you have to simulate what other sims are doing (even if a bit watered down compared to sims in-focus), so that you can have a random encounter, or get calls from another sim, or sims growing old at the same rate as your sim
2a) if you have a team doing it, you probably have to pay them, and for that you need money beforehand, only through publishers can this really be accomplished
2b) time, if you tackle this alone you need lots and lots of time, and who knows you may die before it's finished
3) content the developer doesn't like, sure there's a lot of shit that could be added to flesh out what you can do, but how far is a developer willing to go? He may not be thrilled at the idea of sims having a "pedo" personality trait, and taking some time off work to head down to singapore to fuck underage prostitutes
or there being a chance of new mothers getting postpartum depression and drowning their children in a bath tub and burning the house down

TS3 has always been an unstable mess that crashed with no survivors for me. Especially when I started fucking with it even a little.

This is one of the reasons I don' play ts3 anymore, I mostly play ts4 and ts3 if I can, though editing a sim's looks in ts2 is simply put an absolute pain

Short answer? No. Long answer? Well, it's got some things going for it like multitasking and not running like ass, but it is so underwhelming in features both in the base game and the amount of content expansions provide, Not to mention the game is drowning in hipster shit and tranny-pandering on the plus side you can just make women that can piss standing up and is just empty overall even with expansions.

The biggest problem is lack of open world, and that's not something even mods or expansions can fix.

If Sims4 gets an open world it might be even worse than Sims 3 considering it seems to use nearly 2/3 or more the amount of resources on my computer as Sims 3 did if I don't use "laptop mode." All the sims spontaneously doing shit like selfies and other idle animations that weren't present in the games before probably don't help

I think the only reason it runs better is because they cut back on the graphics and removed open world.

just make sure you load it on an ssd, add in those NRAAs mods to fix the broken shit and perform nightly cleanups and trap errors, set memory usage to 4gb in TheSims3.ini file, and uh, maybe look into an fps limiter because some people report the game trying to run at a ridiculous framerate that overheats their graphics card

For 3, took about 3 minutes to load on a Phenom II X4 with 4GB of RAM. As some other anons said, constant disk activity due to swapping (i.e. I didn't have enough RAM). I also had every EP/SP installed as well as the whole fucking store collection of objects, so it's not exactly a fair comparison. It was enough to make it shitty if I ever needed to change locales, e.g. going to the future or whatever, but aside from the framerate dips when traveling into town it ran okay.

On an i7 with 8GB with a caching SSD it loads a fair bit quicker.

Oh btw, if you want tons of scrap you can detonate the military fighter jet statue, that will give you 1500 scrap.
It will cause such insane lag, though, that you really shouldn't do it unless you like killing the process via task manager.

I don't see the point in the stuff packs as I can get all the furniture and crap from 3rd parties.
I just want ambitions and seasons like I did when I was a kid.

The stuff packs sometimes came with unique traits and features that supposedly get patched in but I can't access them unless I have the stuff pack anyway.

That's funny, I don't think Sam is a pathetic name but it's what I ended up calling the white guy here.

Gave him Goofy, Gloomy and Clumsy and gave the black guy Active, Mean and Self-Assured. I then made a 'cuck shed' kitted out with bed, toilet, fridge, microwave and augmented reality game. The black guy straight off the bat went to the cuck shed; his claim of the territory exceeding what I anticipated, and then started playing the VR way past the point of boredom, which became his main activity.

The numale got saddled with sad spells, a job, cooking, and all the house repairs but he stayed reasonably happy despite his situation and improved his relationships with everyone except 'the Bull'; who stayed in the 'lion's den', gaining vital gamer skill in between sporadic callisthenics and forays into the succubus nest when the white devil was away. The wife had 'romantic' but the cucker managed to piss her off irretrievably despite her flirtatiousness. Too alpha.

2 is not that hard to pirate, the complete collection is usually the first result when you look for it.

The Ultimate Collection is buggy though and causes conflicts and problems with mods that didn't happen before
