I fucking hate the "humanity needs to become a hive-mind!" idea, especially when the novels themselves bring up that it was humanity's individuality that's both its greatest strength and its greatest folly and that removing that would actively keep humanity down in the long run.

I haven't read much Asimov yet

Same music team and creator from Cowboy Bebop and each episode's got a different director so it's kind of a scratch-pad for a bunch of different guys, resulting in wildly different tones and styles for each episode with a consistent cast (in a good way). Soundtrack's fantastic and the animation's great, lots of action and psychedelic stuff. I watched the dub but apparently not much really changes besides the voices between the original and the US release so either/or works. Definitely worth a watch, even if it ends somewhat abruptly towards the end of the second season.

Asmiov's a bit of a dry author but he's entertaining on the whole, albeit a bit samey with his choice of aliens; most counterpart species to Man in his works are typically chlorine-breathers and bovine quadrupeds, or plant/microscopic hiveminds. His opinion on human individuality seems to shift since at least one or two of his short stories were of attempts to force hivemindedness onto humanity and failing, then the Foundation series starts circlejerking about a hivemind for humanity being its destiny. Dated but entertaining scifi.

Well Space Dandy was toted as being an anime US release first and it's great the guys behind Bebop did it and I may check it out.
I'm attempting to write a Science fiction book myself but I can't quite get the writing down correctly. Seeing images in my head it's like trying to draw them. I can't find any distinct ways of actually improving my writing skill outside stick a rape recorder to my throat and do that, write rewrite and hope for the best or write poetry.. lastly being read a ton more books. I have all my ideas down and apparently they're okay. I just can't get it into written form correctly. Asimov is fun either way, being dated doesn't bother me and besides Asimov himself called his laws of robots meh, I respect him.

Space Dandy was always more popular in the US anyways so that doesn't surprise me, I remember hearing it did fantastically in Western countries and received little to no fanfare at all on the moon.

Read a lot more books, trust me. Examples of good writers can and will help you with your own writing, even if you're noticeably writing similarly to an author who's your particular favorite; the Necroscope books by Brian Lumley are some of my favorite vampire fiction and I've noticed Lumley-isms in my own writing, for instance. After that it's just practice and trying to remain engaging, show don't tell (for instance don't write "he was cut in half", write "he was split from head to toe by his enemy's blade"), if need be you can try to "visualize" it by writing out its summary as a script and then rewriting it as a more proper story.

Asimov's a fun writer and that he's dated is more reflective on the period he lived in than on his actual writings since there's a great deal of period-neutral works by him, he was very influenced by the kind of "Spaceman Spiff" era he lived in with things like handheld death-rays and other "set phasers to kill"-type weaponry. His laws of robotics are a bit bland but I can also respect that he kept them totally consistent and frequently pushed them, as well as releasing that Robot City setting for other authors to play around with who themselves leapt at holes in that pattern of AI, such as the decision to consider all sapient life "human" rather than deciding human beings were the only ones that counted. I also remember more than a few mentions that positronic brains can be and occasionally were programmed completely without the Three Laws, leaving those Laws as kind of a "base" to put the rest of your AI onto.

I need to read more but it's hard when I'm so lazy and prefer to play video games.
My story is about a man acquiring an armlet allowing him to essentially go to any dimension, even alternate ones but I wanted to focus totally on new worlds, it means I get to play with situations out of anything you can imagine due to the nature of his armlet. The idea is a world he falls into or the first world at least IS a robot world with multiple levels and these robots follow trends so so forth, even working for energy so they don't stop existing. I hate pop culture so I decided to use it as a subtle message in an entire society bent by them. The idea is that the robots kill most organic life barring humans as they didn't exist at all nor create the sapient robots. My human IS the alien, not the other way around.
A friend suggested different ideas I wanna pursue with some small things like a robot hitting on him in a bar, an awkward situations with some robust degenerate robots. The end conclusion is subtle as well, it's just a human stuck in an awkward situation.
later sequels would be expanding upon where the armlet came from. It was an ancient war bred of total jealousy by a super omnipotent race and a younger one, whom through attrition won eventually.

Your ideas are a bit derivative but presented in a fresh enough way and with enough deviation that you could very well make a very good thing out of it, especially if you capitalize a bit more on the angle of strangeness in my opinion. I haven't read H.P. Lovecraft's works but I remember /tg/ mentioning him as a very good author for the general air of "what the fuck was that?", so if you decide to capitalize on the strangeness of it he'd be a good author to look into for reference/inspiration.

A hive-minded foe would be a good villain, especially if you're trying to go for bleak/hopeless. Literally surrounded at all sides and it's all technically the one being, and all that. I'm for it since I keep having to turn to older books for bleak/hopeless endings, I love stories where things don't turn out happy-sunshine at the end.

Well I'm glad my ideas have something to them and I'm trying to learn to write before I articulate this. H.P. Lovecraft was a core inspiration is some specific ideas I had, as far as foes go he would essentially gain many over time if I can actually write the damn thing. First book is him in robot world, second is a ton of short stories of his adventures and an AI program crashed on some abandoned planet lost recalling the past telling the whole story of the war. This is a human being stuck against powers well beyond his control, there's no good or evil, morals are a corrupt belief in a human sense because it makes no sense. Either everyone wants to kill him, use him, or consume him. Even if he dies it makes no difference as his body can be used eternally Had ideas for it to be impossible to make clones of him, as well as him becoming the only one who can use the ancients technologies. He mutates heavily in specific ways which are realistic, confirmed by a guy I know who's studying to be a doctor. Bones harden, adrenaline gets a super boost, a slight regen factor.. all through pain and suffering first mind you. Hopelessness is something I always want my character to feel, I want you to cheer him on as he barely triumphs like Guts in Berserk as he's all on his own.
