But what happened? Trump showed he was willing to compromise in order to expedite hurricane relief. He showed he wasn't going to play politics with the lives and livelihoods of American citizens. He showed he was magnanimous and above the fray. Then, in three months time, if the Dems decide to actually do it, he'll be able to point back to right now and talk about how willing he's been to find a middle ground, and the Democrats will look like whiny babbies. This won't give them leverage. They're going to try to use it to get leverage, and in doing so they're going to fall right into his trap. Midterms are going to be a bloodbath.
