It's a thief that has a special trick up his sleeve… or rather strapped to his back. One day this smug motherfucker stole a relic known to grant the user sight from any place, so long as there was physical contact with the relic. He strapped that bitch on a chain and tied it around his chest effectively giving him eyes behind his head.
In a game, you could throw the chain around walls, or maybe drop the relic down slowly from a higher vantage point to see whats directly below you. Later on you can add more chain links in order to increase the distance from which you can see.
