That's a rather unwise suggestion. The CON links are only worth anything if we can spread them to a larger audience and get people to listen. That requires access to larger platforms or all we'll be doing is preaching to the converted (which is comfortable but achieves nothing). Youtube is/was one of the biggest platforms to reach a larger audience and it should not be given up lightly without a shitfit. Even if Youtube is truly a lost cause at least it's userbase should be informed that their platform of choice ain't what it used to be.

I almost feel like YT's response is to get ahead of something like disnod. The biggest thing disnod did was prove that the big gaming sites weren't safe places for advertisers, and that it carried a high risk. So not only did advertisers leave, but the value of adspace on those sites plummeted, which caused shrinking revenue even if there were still the same number of ads.
Google's move here seems like they want to make sure that they keep their ad space "safe" and low risk. It seems like they are trying to prevent exactly what happened with disnod.
But their big problem is that they have proven to youtubers who want to make money that youtube is no longer a reliable place for them to earn money. Their monetization can be turned off for what seems like no reason. And every video they post they have to worry about that happening.
And yes, it's also being abused for silencing people with "wrong think". I'm not saying Google is doing this solely for advertisers. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the type of thing a non-SJW proposed that was high up in YT or Google, and then SJWs at the company started abusing it to silence critics. It could go all the way to the top regarding censorship though. But that's not what I'm getting at. My point is that they've established making money on youtube is not reliable, even if you have a successful channel. And that should scare the shit out of a lot of people with YT channels. This sort of censorship goes on in places like reddit, and most people don't care because they're not getting paid to post on reddit. But when you're doing something expecting to earn money, and there's a chance you can randomly be cut off, people get angry.

It's kind of like a stream/chat site. Developers who are convinced to use it at the possibility of better reception and thus more profits and support will have a kind of thing they check when they're available just like that one thing workers use to show when they've arrived.
When they're active, you can ask all kinds of question about what kind of gameplay, story elements and features you can expect or what kind of power they're using. This is a shot in the dark, but maybe even some tech autists could point out "trying to do that with that will make it run like shit".
