Bonk's Revenge and Soldier Blade.

Neat console to emulate. Bitch to collect for

Yeah, even the Saturn is easier to collect for. I almost never see PC Engine games, and when I do they're always around $60 at the cheapest. Really in demand games like Rondo of Blood tend to stay in $200+ range.

I haven't really played any TG16/Duo games except for Rondo of Blood, I'd really like to get into it some time, seems like a great alternative to the king of its generation, the sega genesis. I know one of my favorite series of all time, Cotton has an installment of Fantastic Night Dreams on the system. I'd love to try it some time, especially considering how good the Cotton games are. Also, my boss gave me a gift - an American magazine ad for Cotton Fantastic Night Dreams for the Turbo Duo. So now I feel even more obligated to play.

Actually my favorite console of all time and the one I spent most of of my childhood and teenage years playing.

Rondo of Blood is a given, but I also loved Bloody Wolf, the entirety of the Bonk series, Samurai Ghost (Although this one might actually be shit, I don't want to play this one again and ruin my fond memories), the top-down Doraemon game, Batman, Soldier Blade, Air Zonk.
Also loved Aoi Blink, Atomic Robokid, Shubibinman, Kunio-Kun Dodgeball (The best version is this one, in my opinion), New Zealand Story, Ninja Spirit, MotoRoader, Monster Pro Wrestling, Military Madness, Mesopotamia, Liquid Kid, Jackie Chan, Dragon Egg, Don Doko Don, Dragon's Curse, Coryoon and Cyber Cross.
I remember loving Strip Fighter II, but this one is definitely shit.

Fuck, I need to replay all of these.

Was searching around my old hard drive and just found a folder with all my old favorites and a registered copy of Magic Engine 1.00. Could upload if anyone is interested.

Samurai Ghost was pretty fun. I liked all of the different ways you could attack with the sword.

Sure, I'd love to try some of those out.

Right. Will take a little while, I hope you don't mind. My upload speed is rancid shit.

Great console. Probably the best 8bit console.

Bonk
Valis
Ys
Dragon Slayer
Cosmic Fantasy
Gates of Thunder
R-Type
Blazing Lazers

Most of the CD games were great, and even the mediocre ones had killer soundtracks. Someone stole my TurboDuo when I was a teenager, and they are way too expensive on eBay and shit. The best emulator I know of for TG16/SuperGFX is a commercial one called Magic Engine.

Nah, that's fine. I'm looking forward to it.

Magic Engine is good, but you have to pay be able to play hue card games for more than five minutes, so I tend to use Ootake for those. With CD games one the other hand, you can just burn a bin/cue file to a disc, put it in your drive, and play it on Magic Engine for as long as you want.

Here it is, user! Hope it was worth your while.
Yes, it took me almost an hour to upload 40MB. Thanks, third world.

I just love the design. Just look at it, it glows with fun to be had.

The PS3 and Wii emulate both regular and CD games surprisingly well. Ive been doing mostly shmups so far which are comfy as fuck on the Wii controller.

I've been having an easy time of it, though i'll admit i've paid some pretty ridiculous prices for a few(Air Zonk and Bomberman 93 come to mind), it was still below average prices. Some of the games are being jewed right now, like Blazing lazers, but if you're not picky about the box, there's plenty of games you can get for 15-20-something bucks a pop, hell just recently i got CiC copies of JJ and Jeff and Alien crush for 20 bucks.

Forget about anything CD though, the Player and console is ~370, and you'll never see them separate, Duo's are even worse, at 400+ bucks.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Lets try and get a good list going so maybe chart-user pops up and makes one. I've sadly only played the CD games through emulation. Shit I've enjoyed

I've got a full set of the regular grafx16 games (91mb) but I've still got to try those out

I'm lurking and will be taking notes.

Two games that haven't been mentioned in this thread that I really like are Neutopia 1 and 2. They're obvious Zelda clones, but very good ones.

Legendary Axe is also good.

Sharing these as the Namcofag i am.

this is like console porn to me, I absolutely adore addons

From what Ive heard this was pretty much the reason to own a Turbografx back in the day

I'd say it is a straight tie between this abomination, the Atari Jaguar, and the Intellivision consoles (not sure which version) for the ugliest gaming device every created.

Well… as I mentioned Magic Engine is a commercial endeavor. I have a paid license so I have full functionality (eg, no time limits).

In the forums, David says he doesn't care if people abuse save states to bypass the time limit. I just think the software was worth the $20 or whatever I spent like 10 years ago.

(checked)
I did like Lords, but the sequel (Gates) was a bit better IMHO

How does this make you feel?

...

wow someone stole my idea astral projectally

Well, it's fun as fuck so probably that's the reason.

This shit was my first video-games.
Too bad it's broken now.
Do I have anything of value ?

how are they broken ?

The game are fine, I meant my PC-Engine is broken.

Not especially. People pay premiums for the rare(?) english carts, not the more common/unwanted jap ones

Super Star Soldier and Final Soldier are great shmups. I don't think I've played anything else you've got there.

Bloodia=Timeball, if you've ever heard of it
Batman is some kind of weird pac man clone, and is nothing like the NES game
Veigues is some kind of mech beat em up, that's also in english
Paranoia=Psychosis
and i think the one with the big blue cat=Cratermaze

It's a great console for shmup fans. It's got lots of anime licensed "digital comics" and proto-VNs as well if you're into that and can read moonrunes.

Magic Engine is an outdated and crap commercial emulator. No reason to use it when there are superior open source emulators. Use Mednafen if you're willing to put in the elbow grease to learn the shit interface (you'll appreciate it later when you want to use Mednafen's PS1 and Saturn emulators), or Ootake if that's too much.

It's a shame, because the original PC-Engine and CoreGrafx revisions were some of the best looking consoles ever made. Once again some dumb fuck market researcher went "hurr durr murricans like things bigger, no one will take this tiny babby console seriously" and ruined everything.

Here's an organized HuCard set.

Thanks alot. Because this is so great I'm share it with the share thread .

Some of them have been translated. I played the Maison Ikkoku one not too long ago. It wasn't great, but I enjoyed it mostly because I like the anime.

Cool, thanks.
