Honestly this is a weak argument, and I'm not sure why anyone would use it when talking about Holla Forums of all things, which has tended to place a higher value in advancing the cause of white nationalism and national socialism over appealing to the "culture" of 4chan/Holla Forums, a pair of historically degenerate websites.
"Board culture justifies its presence" could be used to argue in favor of shit like porn and traploving, things we have wisely banished from Holla Forums's zeitgeist because they not only do nothing to help ourselves or our movement, they're an active detriment. Self-improvement isn't just a dumb meme, it's one of the central principles of Holla Forums and has been since the exodus. Wallowing in degenerate activities is the exact opposite of self-improvement, in fact it has terrible effects upon your psychology and physiology, specifically your hormone levels.
Anime is unhealthy for a similar reason. It has a tendency to create lazy manchildren, which leads to certain problems, principally: a) inactivity for prolonged periods of time (as shows are bingewatched), b) hyperconsumerism of frivolous merchandise (like those stupid anime figurines you see plastered on weeb's shelves), and c) lower standards for fiction/film/literature/art in general (most anime is designed for mass consumption, which, like with all media, tends to correlate with cheap/poor production tactics, and good writing usually gets the axe in favor of cliches that are guaranteed to hold an audience). Of course, point a) is the worst offense. There is nothing worse for a man than stagnation and pacification, which ALL FORMS OF MEDIA inflicts. This is doubly true for long-form mediums designed for mass market consumption (like television shows), since they are DESIGNED to hold audiences in front of a screen at any expense for long periods of time. They are empty calories of entertainment, like junk food. Even video games are a (slightly) more viable medium of entertainment, since (depending on the game) you can use them to train your reflexes and problem-solving abilities. Anime has no such values to offer, since most of them are not educational or interactive, nor do they tend to reward you for critical thinking. They exist to make you sit there and consume. A pure time sink. Junk food.
And while you're just sitting around wallowing in the bread and circus of a foreign nation, you're effectively neutralized. You're not thinking. You're not active. You're not planning. You're not a threat. This is what (((they))) want.
If you like anime, just say that. But don't pretend that's a justifiable reason for it to hold a place on Holla Forums. It has had its time, but it's time to grow out it of.
