Although the devs have kind of bailed, try Tox. It's an uglier, open-source, encrypted, decentralized version of Discord.
If enough people get on there, the devs may continue developing. Or anyone code savvy can help in the project. Keep maybe a second channel there for the "harsher fatty jokes".
