What turns me off about socialism/communism most is the part about equality of outcome.

"Equality of outcome" is less than nonsense. If you actually read a tiny bit of Marx's work, there is no way to glean such a conclusion from it.

Well in communism is where society has developed with the aid of technology to achieve post-scarcity, which renders everybody equally rich for lack of a better word, why would you need incentives in that scenario where everything is so abundant it's effectively free? In fact no one should be working as labour would technically still be scarce in such a scenario and not actually communism but rather socialism at that point.

Socialism isn't about equal outcome, it's the about hinges on the workers earning the full fruits of their labour which under capitalism is creamed off as profit or rent. If your work is deemed more socially valuable, it will be rewarded accordingly. This doctor's pay = janitor's pay strawman is absurd and has never existed.

The million dollar question is: Is there any form of financial compensation in communism for doing more difficult/stressful jobs?

Communism is a moneyless society due to money being obsolete, as resources are so abundant, a means of exchange would be redundant in such a scenario.
