As one of those people working toward a "comfortable highly paid manufacturing job" I'd like to say that even when I reach personal financial success, I still understand that I have a responsibility to help "mediocre" white guys, because they are part of my society. Yeah, in class there has been talk about how companies are starting to wake up to the lie behind the China meme, and are realizing that the expenses saved aren't worth it when they have to put in more costs to QA check the materials, as well as have to deal with having a white babysitter at the factory at all working hours to keep things from going to shit. It means that the jobs that come from onshoring (that is not my term) will require being very time efficient. A difficult job is still better than no job though.

I to have come to this conclusion. I was bullied when I was younger, and resented it, but now I see it was necessary. These children have grown up utterly incapable of living in the real world, if they don't shape up extinction is all you can expect.

I don't know if I deserved it, but it certainly taught me something that my parents failed to teach me. Plenty people in this world will shit on you without a second though if it benefits them or even just for a laugh. Diplomacy and kindness doesn't solve all problems, and contrary to what my parents told me violence can solve quite a bit. It's a lesson you learn sooner or later.

This is so very true. Granted sometimes bullying can be "undeserved," or go too far, but honestly it's important for kids to have these experiences. Firstly, it's just so they can learn how to cope and deal with it. You have to get picked on as a kid and learn to deal with minor injustice because otherwise there is no fucking way you're going to be able to function in the adult world. Likewise many parents fail completely to tell their children about the way that people really are, and childhood bullying is a good wake up call for children who otherwise would have grown up without the tools to deal with life because their parents set them up for failure by trying to bubble wrap the world for them.
