The problem with apartheid was that it wasn't "apart" enough. The whites wanted cheap black labor, so they invited their conquerors in. Sure, the blacks did better than they could anywhere else on their festering hell-continent, but so what? The blacks, naturally enough, wanted to be in charge, and they had the numbers to make it happen.

It was great though. Nearly all the African blacks in the documentary begged for the white man to return and lead them. The Asians say they learned from the white man but they don't need them. That documentary's called Africa Addio (or Adido, I don't know Italistani). I think it was originally released in the US with a lot of the documentary stuff cut out, and the violence left in, under the name "Africa Blood & Guts".
