does anyone here actually play CoH2?

Haven't played in a while, but let's see if I can remember it all:
Usually Soviets, OKW if I feel like playing on easy mode
Infantry accuracy and at penetration
Shock army for Soviets, Scavenger or Luftwaffe ground forces for OKW
Four squads of regular infantry (cons/volks), two MGs, two at guns, two-three squads of call-ins depending on the commander and situation

I preferred CoH 1, although CoH 2 didnt have some improvements, they made some decisions i wasnt a fan of
What they were i cant remember, its been years

I stopped playing COH2 after I put 150 hours into it.

Pissed that there was no Whermacht campaign like in opposing fronts. SEGA went full kike with Coh2

It was a solid game. Balance has gone a bit crazy though.

I'm actually quite impressed by the new drop system. Shame they haven't reigned in the shitty moderation and repaired the disasters caused by the community manager.

This kills RTS's for me, and probably in general
Maybe I'm getting old, but i prefer the old method of expansion packs, free customer created content and no fucking horse armour
Lately all the total wars have turned into kike infested cancer

coh2 is such a shitfest of a game, only faggots like it.

Only thing I'm missing are pictures of smug heroes.

i mostly always play soviets
i focus everything on making my constrips stronger
Combined Arms Tactics commander
3con squads one MG and one mortar squad. i build from there depending on whats needed

yeah its still pretty stupid. but at least its less stupid?

it would have been alot better if they wouldnt have gone full kike with dozens of microtransactions, skins and cosmetics. besides that the balance in this game is indeed fucked.

yeah youre right its a fucking shitfest. but i still enjoy to play it from time to time

I know there are hundreds of bot hosted maps, but what are the chances of meeting someone in them?
99% of them are barren

...

Germans if I want to try. Allies if I don't.

Mainline Inf + MG

Mostly stuff with call ins, T0 call ins used to give me the biggest hard on when they could be used to diversify openings.

Depends,

Sov - Con/Mg/Con/Mg
US - 3/4 Rifles (Mortar is for fags)
Brits - MG/IS then either 2 IS or MG/Sapper

OKW - Kubel/Volk/Volk/Volk (You could do other stuff but frankly why bother with such high risk shit. Sure you'll do well with 2 x Kubel if your micro is tight as shit but a kubel being alive longer than half an hour is rare as fuck and/or isn't really doing anything)

Wehr - Christ, whatever the fuck you want.
T2 Rush - MG/Pio/MG/Pio/222
T1 Heavy - MG/Gren/Gren/Mortar(or Gren)/Appropriate T2 Unit (who am I kidding, Pak or 222)
They are Scrubs - Whatever/Pz4
IsIt2013? - MG/Assgrens/MG/Assgrens/T2

Why play dog shit when you can play much better games.
Men of War AS2 is 1000x better than CoH 2, I really can't shill this game enough.(even though its more a RTT)
Dawn of War SS with any mods is just so much more fun than this game, works better too.
Command and Conquer Generals is still there with an active modding community.
You even have all these niggers that still only play fucking Age of Empires 2 and Open RA all the time, all these threads ever become is CoH2 discussion or AoE2 game set up. Can we actually talk about some other RTSs that isn't the same shit we talk about everyday or a game that we all probably have 18 disks lying around and played 100 times over.

...

you wanna play some mowas2 with gsm?

yeah, I'd love to but I've got to go for a few hours for classes. When I get back I'll post asking if anyone wants to play.

CoH1 is batter tbh.

RTT's ARE SHIT
SHIT

t. gookclick monkey

I hope to god to aren't implying RTS's are gookclicks
RTT's are the real gookclicks
except for starcraft 2 and a few other triple A shits

Check catalog faggots

I wasn't talking about custom maps but ranked matches.
And although what you say is true right now, Blizz actually plans to release a new patch soon which will bring WC3 to bnet 2.0 that will make it possible to play customs again properly without needing bots.

The only reason why bots are around at all is because people can't be bothered to do port forwarding for the game which is a pain in the ass.
You could also use Gameranger or something similar to host custom maps, since you don't need to mess with the ports by using it.
We could have a nice RPG game like Sunken Temple for which you only need 3 people. Surely we could find that many on Holla Forums.

Seriously, it's the only Total War game you'll ever need.

every rts can be won by maximizing apm and focusing on the one viable strat the game offers
rtt takes thought and skill rts does not
dont even argue this you faggot

UKF, SOV and OKW
the ones that got buffed recently
sim city, shocks & mortars, luftwaffe ground forces
PPPPPPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF "STANDARD" AHAHAHAHA LOOK AT HIM AND LAUGH

let me guess, they're planning to make custom maps purchasable and also under copyright laws right?

you sound like a complete and utter faggot user
RTT's by definition have more reliance on gookclicking than RTSs
RTS's require both base planning and army planning, RTTs are only army planning and tactics

Its the army planning and tactics that is usually the primary cause of Gookclick
I could see where you were coming from if you were using AoE2 as an example, one truly viable strat that differs from team to team depending on the map and micromanaging units to dodge projectiles as well as using multiple priests to convert

However every RTT has this in it, in fact i would say RTTs are the definition of gook click

Thank god this shitty genre is dead.

You're both fucking retarded

are you just pretending to be retarded now? am i being low energy baited?
if you dont follow your strat in any rts you will lose, if you hover resources you will lose.
in an rtt you react to the situation as it develops instead of following a strat that will lead you to victory everytime if executed properly
heck most rts suffer from dumbass rush strats that will let you win the game if you are fast enough

I don't think they're stupid enough to make the same mistake twice.
Especially since it backfired so hard.
Then again, this is modern Blizz, so who knows.

Yes user, G-d bless those assfaggots like LoL and DotA.

Its a shame that most of the more recent RTS of today would let that happen, even dow had a major flaw with that, fucking shitty eldar rushing thankfully it was slightly patched, however even today i refuse to play 1v1 on small maps against eldar

However the DoW campaigns were pretty neet, so maybe its less so RTS games being shit because of mechanics, but rather because the shitty game developers making shitty maps to play them in

Also rushing is a viable strategy depending on the game you're playing as long as its not OP, but thats a common rule in almost all games anyone remember all those shitty GOD custom maps for wc3? fuck them

But thinking that RTT's are somehow immune to these flaws is retarded user, I'm 90% sure theres an RTT where rushing exists in some sense or another

yeah, no

Supreme Commander

I wanna bully that squid

fuck relic, fucking canadian cucks.

I'm honestly disappointed
cybran a shit

At this point user, i suspect Mount and blade 2 (heavily modded of course) ending up as a better RTS than the stuff thats being put out today

Honestly user i have to ask, seeing as you like RTT's
Did you enjoy C&C4?
Because C&C4 is the eptimone of RTT's

user, pls, it's too obvious.

Do you have anything to say about Soviet campaign?

What?
Was C&C4 a bad RTT?
Because i know its a bad RTS, but i'm also aware that its an RTT
In fact you could say its probably the "God of RTTs"

Russians hated it
Despite being historically a more accurate impression of them than most games, even then it didnt show the full actions of soviet scum
Yet the Germans seemed to have embraced the fact that all germans were nazi's and they were roasting little children on fires, using jewish women as breeding stock, gassing all jewish men and the only people who could stop them were jewish american men like the jew bear

I say that the campaign was 50% facts 50% exagerrations.

more like 50% downplayed

Have you watched too much Enemy at the Gates? If you're talking about human wave tactics, that's western shittalking.

It was bad everything.

The whole campaign was about "bad ruskies and good journo trying to brind the soviet people the light of atrocities of ruskie stavka when they don't fucking care because fucking war". Hypocrisy, cheap propaganda and B-movie bullshit. If you've seen bullshit about nazis then you don't need to play the game.
Also some, spearhead I think, mod was kinda nice, other than that CoH2 is not worth it.

The soviet doctrine, while not retarded human wave shit, was similar. To contrast it with the german concept of the Schwerpunkt where a weak spot is selected, and then assets are concentrated to cause a breakthrough, soviet doctrine was to attack a front with overwhelming force, waiting for breakthroughs to form, then exploiting them.
In other words, a lot of really stupid positions were attacked with needless losses because the commanders couldn't be bothered to plan attacks out.
This is actual doctrine, you can read up on it.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_operation
It's way more complex than you make it sound.

I recently started playing again and OKW feels like a whole new army. I love using two or three pumas to destroy allied tanks. I usually deploy Pumas to support the King Tiger.

The only things I like in CoH2 over the original is that the pop cap isn't limited by how many territories you're more likely to play custom maps online.

CoH trumps it in every other area.

...

...

So is spearhead doctrine. Your point?

r i p

That it's not similar to "human wave". Both German and Soviet doctrines were very advanced.

OKW and Wehr.
For Luftwaffe Ground Forces I use the panzerfaust discount for paratroopers and two bulletins to make my Pumas more effective against heavier tanks. When I use other doctrines I use the barrage cooldown and accuracy buffs for the field gun.
Scavenge and Luftwaffe Ground forces.
Two Sturmpioneers, one volks squad, two field guns, two paratroopers/jaeger light infantry. For vehicles it's usually a king tiger supported by 2 pumas.

I'll play when I wake up tomorrow, I've been fighting off a cold.

I kinda like it.
It feels more like a side grade to CoH1

Well then, anyone got anything else to say? Thoughts on Cossacks 3?

Its dead
and probably the only game i can think of that isn't going to be a massive disappointment this year

I've given up on Relic making a balanced game since Dark Crusade's 1.24 patch, but they do good game engines.

Try Spearhead (yes, it's that shill). Tuning pack on the steam workshop, adds doctrines, removes/ignores the commanders, and makes things a bit more realistic.
Fortunately that translated into 'conscripts with smgs and at grenades are fucking bastards in towns' rather than 'lolgermans'. Cromwell and 75mm shermans can even take out a Panzer IVH in a firefight, though you'll need a bit of luck (or veterancy), and flamethrowers can really mess up a tank, even decrew some vehicles entirely. An infantry squad with a flamethrower and bazooka/pait is enough to make even a Tiger II hesitate about driving in.

On the other hand, if you're in an open field, tanks are going to stomp your infantry into the floor without smoke or something to cover their advance.

Did you and that other user ever play? Can I get in on this?

I play it. 1400 hours of game time.

Soviets. Axis is for P2W noobs

SU-85 penetration and armor. All 3 of them all the time.

Either Soviet combined arms army or Soviet industry

noob

You aren't even trying are you?

I keep seeing this gif. Where is it from?

It's just that my micro tends to be weak, that's why I play OKW from time to time.

let me guess, you're one of those noobs who blobs around the map with volks and 2 sturmpios with panzerschrecks?

Nah, I used to blob with 4 volks and sturm officer. Lately I switched to 2 fallshimjagers, 2 volks and 2 sturmpios.

you should L2P instead of blobbing.

You're right, that's why I started playing Soviets. To teach myself how to play.

what's your loadout like? What commanders do you use?

Mental Omega beta revision 2 soon fellow proselyte

I wrote about it earlier in the thread
, but if you want more specific details, here they are: I go for Tier 2 building first, early game is spent by building cons (4-5 is usually enough for me) and a second engineer. Middle game - 2 at guns and two call-ins depending on the situation. Late game - bring in the vehicles, preferrably 2 T-34s and SU-85, you can throw in Katiusha depending on the situation.

that's way too much. Even when I go reserve army I only make 3.

Shit i thought this was dead

Slow, but not dead.

Also multiplayer will come back together with BR2 because they will switch to support cnc net 5

...

I go for this number because I'm constantly reminded that cons are not that great. By the numbers and so on.

How does that make you feel.

Hyped for fucking BR2 that was supposed to come out first in a early 2015, then in december 2015 and now gods know when

Fuck you speeder you feature creep fuck

Yunru and Noriko are still cool, though.

Tanya waifu4lyf

Dr. Mobius? I'm GDI.

Er, you don't get to bring friends.

I wonder what will Foenn's commando look like.

Do we even know what kind of faction they are outside of hurrdurr ancient alien technology? I don't have much hopes for Foehn as a whole but I at least hope the missions in which they are the enemy will be as entertaining as always. That and America better still be up shits creek without a paddle, it is incredible entertaining to watch them struggle so much to the point that even the Brits are openly assfucking them for their own gain. Only underdog I think I ever rooted for in a game.

NEVER EVER

Well, they have a thing for naming their units after extinct species. I think they're pulling Terminator on the army level and this is backed up by their intense hatred for all things Yuri.

Yeah me too

Why did they decided to do a 4th fraction instad of 4th subfraction is beyond me

Soviets please leave

I mean I can sort of understand why given the fact Yuri was basically on the verge of winning. The American president is dead and the American army as a whole is reduced to a few soldiers and loyalists hiding in the Rocky Mountains while mind control beacons have the entire population under control, Europe is conquered beyond a shadow of a doubt and Britain was only able to resist due to their asspull technology that blew the Midas rockets to hell and back before they even got close, Japan and Korea struck a separate peace deal with the Soviets if my memory is correct, and Australia is doing fuck all. Yuri already has an army and industrial base mobilized and can spark another Soviet-Chinese war at the flick of a wrist.

I'm only disappointed it's not something like the minor nations uniting to take advantage of the destabilized Soviets and attempt fighting off Yuri with the Allies help. Something like the Balkans, Nordics, and Mediterraneans forming their own faction together. Or hell, just the Balkans themselves to remove kebab and commie once more. Instead we get ANCIENT ALIENS

Didnt japan got anexed by China?

It would make sense if they were related to the backwarping Allies from the original YR plot but apparently they're not, they're completely new.

I think they only struck a separate peace deal from the rest of the Allies and are forced to send over technology / scientists to help the Soviets, not entirely sure if they became a puppet of the Chinese. I'm going to have to check.

That would of been cool as well, all units being a bunch of ragtag commandos with shitty as fuck equipment that breaks easily but the most experienced and heavy-hitting units in the game.

I think that the soviet mission Unshakeable and the allied The Gardener outright tell you that Japan was Annexed
But i dont know for sure because last time i played singleplayer MO was in 2014, right after that i sticked to multi

There's always MO Youtube channel. They recently uploaded full playthrough of campaign.

I've checked through Missions 11-10-09 for both Allies and Soviets and I can't find anything about Japan being conquered, only that the Chinese managed to land boots on the ground. It's safe to say they were defeated, I'm just not sure if it was annexation or if they were made a puppet.

They apparently released the first few units on the channel two days ago

I know

Why the fuck are there two RTS threads in catalog?

Why the fuck not

No, we never played but I doubt I'll have any free time to day.

Plastic Nee-San, a cute funny little short.

Fair point

But shows how shit a job the mods do around here

it aint gonna get any better than this yknow?

such is life, kill me why can't i be NEET?

I wish I hate friends to play SupCom with

I wish i had friends

Does anyone play the dead game gook clicker?

Star Craft 2?

yeah

...

Honestly i think the slav butthurt was probably the most memorable thing about the game

This is why I didn't buy CoH2 after trying out the pre-release beta. Fuck persistent unlock systems.

Depends on automatch state.
USA/OKW when I want easy mode
Soviets/Ost if I want hard mode
Brits if I want to listen to banter.
Accuracy on infantry and artillery
Everything with at least one specialist unit
at least 2 arty pieces(including mortars)

I watched few Spearhed vids and while I approve of adding options for soviets to not rely on CO's in 100% for tools, this mod is for compstompers (like most of RTS mods)
Instakilling tanks with fire?
massive AT damage vs tanks?
This only boosts sitting on your ass and picking everything from distance.
If I wanted to play it with more "realism" vs AIs I would play MOW.
But I don't because I enjoy the MP.
