Only got interested because of the waifus, yet i find it fun at times.

I picked up PAD believing it would perfect the Puzzle Quest formula, and found it terribly empty and grindy.

The matchmaking is fun, as you can easily program chain reactions on every move: but the enemies aren't really fighting against you (wherein Puzzle Quest is a nailbiting deathmatch), they're merely attacks on a timer. And you are too limited with spell selection, not to mention their absurd cooldowns.

Which is a real pity, the game looks gorgeous.

New Event
The new scenario event a the end of the month is going to be a sequel to the previous Detective event featuring Barowa. The event trust character is SR Barowa (Fire). As with the previous event, there will be riddles to solve.

September Final Limit Break
Unexpectedly, next month’s final limit break will be SR Ange (Water).

More recent developments:

Primal Summon raids now drop new weapons. Atheena, Odin, Graani, Garuda, Baal and Lich now each have a chance of dropping one of two new weapons. Additionally, the aforementioned raids and their easier elemental brethren (Apollo, Macula Marius, etc.) can now drop elemental animas and Magna weapons.

Pendant shop was also updated to include these new Primal Summon weapons, at 9500 pendants each. You can only buy one a month. Other older SSR weapons were also added to the pendant shop.

Great art, voices, and a story mode really help spice up the mobage. Only got some dudes and this little heifer, so wait and will start over whenever that better drops event happens.

With that said, I would recommend wholeheartedly that no one spends anything on this though. It is fine as a distraction but the company that makes this is shady as fuck.

I remember Cygames stating somewhere that they wanted to be the next big JRPG company, but started with a mobage for less risks. The reveal of re:link and project awakening, gives me some hope that won't just be tied to mobage and can create larger experiences.

With how gaming has shifted in Japan, I'm not too hopeful, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

The Holla Forumsirgin cynic in me is concerned a big chunk of the intended audience for Re:Link is not terribly familiar with frantic action games and on top of that it's looking like it could be multiplayer, I'm expecting shallow mechanics but with the usual Platinum flash that seems to come with their other spin-off games from already existing properties.

Plat did say they are taking care not to make the game too difficult for the wider Granblue audience, but I'd like to think they're smart enough to provide more difficulty options typical for action games.

If anyone is thinking of starting this shit:
1. Don't bother with rerolling. It is a colossal pain in the ass. Way too annoying.
2. Don't pay a dime. Fuck the start dash ticket. It's not worth it. Just look up porn of your favourite character.
On that point, don't tryhard this game. It isn't worth it. I get the most enjoyment just Zen playing this without getting too invested. Don't worry about not getting whatever. This guy is a retard.

I started a few days ago and I finally got my first SSR from a free daily roll. Is Lily any good? She can cut fire dmg for allies, water AoE, and at level 45 she can heal & remove debuff.

All her skills are non-combat and her ougi is fucking feeding fried rice to the enemy and her death cry hurts my heart.

Oh, and Lily is one of the shittier water SSRs. Her first skill is an amazing 90% fire dmg cut, but it only cuts fire dmg.

Other than that her heal and nuke are generic, plus her ougi is on the weaker side too.

Yeah I wouldn't worry so much about ranks and shit. A lot of SRs and some Rs have good skills that make them viable in certain party setups. Also, event characters that the game gives out for free can be pretty strong and useful as well.

I know I ragged on Lily, but I still use her in my water party because she's good to pop out when one of the main party dies so the rest of them can get her heal and dmg cut. It's all about party composition.

As for a tier list, that only matters depending on what you're aiming for in your endgame. I suggest you don't worry about it unless you roll that one dark SSR that is so fucking shitty that he literally kills himself when he uses his skill and ruins raid runs.

Unless you have summer Zoi in which case Sarunan becomes the biggest nuke in the game

All right then, after looking at some character and class skills it seems like you can a lot with your teams, I just want to know what's strong to start off strong early game. Do you get a new character on every map? I just got Io, some loli witch.

Early game? Whatever the monsters of the island are weak against. Since you are on the fire island, water is strong. It then goes to being earth, then water on the next two islands.
I'm on the 6th island in the story, you get new characters on the first four at least.

Last character you get from story is on Chapter 44 if I recall correctly.

According to the tier list docs he's used in a raid or something to dispel everything when the boss hits a certain percentage. I'll link the docs.

Most of the story characters are shit, with the exception of Katalina and maybe Io. I find that people say good SSRs are those that can adapt to most situations, but every SSR has it's own niche.

I had enough crystals and tickets to do 80-something pulls during the last legfest, and I got a shitload of dupes. Like I mentioned eariler I pulled 4 S.Narus. I did manage to pull a Bahamut with a single ticket pull, though.

She's pretty much the staple Light party character as she works with practically every party setup. I have Yodarha in my party just for his million shit, but I'd replace him with Jeanne in a heartbeat just for the overall increased party damage.

The chances of getting a rare character are much higher compared to trying to get an SR or SSR. The chard part would be getting the character you want.

If you don't ever plan on spending money on the game, then it doesn't really matter when you start. A lot of people just recommend that you start during a Legend Festival because you'll get the limited characters in your start dash ticket pool. This means that when your start dash ticket deal pops up every month (until you actually buy it) you can purchase some hard to acquire characters, like the SSR versions of the story characters or Andira (who is only available for this year).

Every character has it's own story, be it a R or SSR. You unlock the first character story when you unlock the character, and the second when you unlock the character's skill.

Some characters have additional stories that let them get more powerful than other characters their own rank. Some have different versions, so the story of the R rank character and SR rank character is a continuation (except for Lamretta, the only character who got downgraded to R).

Also, if characters have a special relationship with each other you might get a special story that buffs the stats of both characters.

That's plenty of lore IMO.

the best lore is how some characters interact during events, like Vane(?) being seasick during SOIYA SOIYA SOIYA or the cute interaction between Lunaly and Percy in the last summer event

I just started playing this like a week ago, and am enjoying it so far. Got two questions, though.
How difficult are the uncap materials to get? Outside of those once a week dungeons or whatever, is there other places they can be gotten?

Also can you get Drang and that one merchant potato girl as party members, or are they just story characters?

The materials needed to uncap characters aren't too difficult to acquire. Just do your daily boosted angel halo dungeons and join higher level raids to get certifications. Doing event stuff will also net you a lot of materials.

As of now, no. They are not characters that can join your party.

It's practically complete. There's a few things here or there that might revert to Japanese text but for the most part the game is entirely in English. Sometimes the game can glitch out and revert to Japanese text, however.

turn based, you use skills on your turn, then when you end the turn your characters always auto-attack, then enemy attacks you, very simple but has some depth to it with things like mode gauge and ougi manipulation(to put it short: to not get raped by boss' special attack)

You need to max out everyone for the mastery bonuses anyway, but Ogre(final fist-user class) is apparently solid with the GW fist, that said, the job you need to get first is Dark Fencer because of it's first skill, Delay, and the 3rd skill, Gravity, they will be cruicial to you for a long time as it makes boss ougi management far easier

Chaos Ruler turned out to be worst of tier 4 classes, Dark Fencer is pretty much a must, class 4 of wizard was broken for the few hours after release but its still strong, despite all that, you should forget about tier4's because you need to be rank 101 for them, Sage(mage tier3) is apparently good altough rarely seen because most people play Hawkeye, Dark Fencer and (grand majority) Superstar(or popstar in english)

Also to all you starting the game, the "Unite and Fight" event banner has 3 eyeball raids you can host(and open to all players if you cant beat them), hosting them gives 50 crystals each for the first time hosted, same applies to the bigger bosses in the same event that require meat from eyeballs to be hosted, this will repeat every guild war for a total of 300 crystals

you got a summer character out of it so why not, just save for the actual legfest now

you'll likely really enjoy Dark Fencer for how much easier the early/mid-game becomes with it

Legend Gacha Festivals. It's a period of time when the SSR pulling rate in the gacha is doubled to 6%. They also add some limited characters to the gacha. Usually happens at the end of every month. It's the best time to spend your crystals as your odds of getting a good character are significantly increased.

You need to upgrade your airship and install parts that allow you to get those buffs. You buy them with a shit ton of rupies.

Best way to get rupies is via co-op lobbies. Practically everything you get as drops from co-op missions can be sold at Sierokarte's shop for rupies. You can join random co-op lobbies and leech free exp/rank points and item drops to sell in the shop if you're quicker than the JP players and manage to get into an open lobby
