Never was into rpgs back in the day

I thought Bioware was supposed to be good back in the day. I was expecting a decent game, not stronk independent womyn, animal right activists and modern military jargon in a feudal society

The main campaign is garbage and nobody will deny that. It's the fanmade modules that are good.

nwn1 is crap. the sequel is great. just dont forget to patch it

You thought wrong. Play A Dance with Rogues.

Skimming the wiki, I'm also seeing they were selling mods 10 years before Bethesda tried to do it. How is this ok?

The only good game Bioware ever made was Baldur's Gate 2.

tbh I'm more excited about NWN2 because I heard about Avellone's involvement. Patch NWN2, right?

I guess I should drop the campaign, then. Any recommendations for modules?

Not really, Bioware games basically all have the same character types and generally play out the same way. If you want to play some good CRPGs then check out Temple of Elemental Evil, Icewind Dale, Underrail and Arcanum
They all have their faults, but they're far above Bioware

Go try and play a few of their games back to back and it becomes pretty obvious
I tried to replay mass effect and holy shit the writing was awful, I don't know why I ever thought it was good

Shadows of Undrentide comes with the game. I'd say it's the proper "Neverwinter Nights" game, even if it doesn't take place near Neverwinter.

Have fun. Oh wait…
