You shouldn't forget that EU economies are very unstable, there's a lot of unrest in Greece, and the unrest is there as well in Portugal and Spain but to a lesser degree. You do not notice this unrest in the media but people are very grim about employment perspectives. Greece obviously being the absolute worst with this, but Greece is a small economy.
