Why haven't you played the best Ys game of all time? Oh wait, you can't learn Japanese.

I don't play weeb games, how the fuck do you even pronounce Ys, YEES?
Bitch, please.
you pronounce it like "yes". also Ys isn't weeb, it's like a more action based 2D Zelda.
...
stop trying to defend things as weeb and not weeb. it's a retarded argument that is used to divide a community on their taste in japanese games. western cucks should be killed.
Why would I waste time with that shit, nigger?
You knew what this thread was going to turn into when you made it, OP.
s-sorry
I have no idea what you're talking about
Wow. That looks a lot like my tranny friend.
Don't care enough about Ys to bother.
I want to fuck this gorgeous blue goddess.
The greatest in the series, the best of the year
yeah it's gotta be GOTY in japan
I'd rather learn an actual dead language (Latin) than waste my time deciphering moon runes.
Who the fuck gives a shit? Seriously? You think we have no patience or other games to play meanwhile? Oh no, we have to wait, what a drama, it's the end of the world.
...
No.
It's pronounced "ease" you stupid niggers.
I have my doubts about that, but I'm prepared to be wrong. Oath set the bar pretty high.
That's the extent of my experience with the games.
Later Ys games ditch the bump system for more traditional action RPG mechanics. Hell, Oath in Felghana, VI and Origins are more action than RPG and have heavy platforming elements. It was VII and Memories in Celceta that established the party based system that's the current style being used for VIII.
In short, just try some of the other games and see which one tickles your fancy. I didn't care much for 1 and 2 either, but Oath in Felghana is easily my favorite.
You could check out Origin, it's really good and doesn't have the bump combat.
The demo/trial up now on PSN apparently extends through much of Chapter 2, giving you a lot time and content whether or not you buy the game. Falcom's probably treating Ys VIII as their prestige game for the next year or so, which makes sense given it's the company's 35th anniversary. I'm hoping for some kind of anthology/compilation next year to celebrate the Ys series's 30th anniversary.
Posting the Lufia II battle theme from Ys VIII.
Learn proto indo european like the rest of the cool fascists.
